I love all the details in the accessories, I never really paid attention to American girl dolls because we don't have them here in the uk, then I watched a few videos on them on a thousand splendid dolls channel and I really fell in love with the historical dolls, looking forward to seeing your other collections.
I love this collection! I never had pleasant company dolls because I was in my teens when they came out, but I was always checking out that catalog and Kristen was always the one I fantasized about ordering. Her aesthetic really spoke to me; Maybe because her sweater looked like it could be J crew which was the other catalog I was obsessed with.
So cute! Kirsten was the doll that got me collecting also! I've replaced her wig because I didn't really know how to take care of it and now I'm too afraid to touch her. She lays in her box all year long & gets taken out on new years eve to celebrate with me. Great video and impressive collection! Thanks for posting.
A friend and I both took our Kirsten's hair down to try to make her look like her birthday pic in the catalog and we both almost destroyed ours too. Mine took a lot of care and patience as an adult to try to get it back somewhat into it's original style.

American Girl is one of my favorite things. First of all, I thought it was so cute that you dressed like Kirsten ☺️ where did you get the sweater? I need to get an original Kirsten. Right now I have a girl of today or just like you doll that displays my Kirsten outfits. I found her birthday table and most of her birthday accessories and two tone boots at an antique store a few years ago(along with some other really cool PC items). Finding those things reminded me of how much I loved AG, plus I have a daughter that can play with it. I always wanted the outfits and accessories, but my parents couldn't afford stuff like that. Kinda like you, I've built my collection up over the years. Just recently at a doll show, I found Kirsten's St. Lucia gown. I was thrilled because I have her ribbons, socks, doll and tray, not the gown. I have been searching forever. Still, I need to get the wreath. I also found her 1997 special edition skater coat. I made sure it was real before I got it. Still need the scarf and skates, but I was happy since this was the first time I have ever found a Pleasant Company special edition outfit. I found a Kirsten scenes and settings at a flea market too. So cool. I like Kirsten, but Felicity is my favorite. Can't wait to see your other collections too.
Don't you just love finding sets like that ?? It's so exciting! I got the sweater at a thrift store several years ago, but it has a "Croft and Barrow" tag inside. I hope you find your St. Lucia gown , and a Kirsten doll soon! If you find one of the "green" toned dolls, the doll hospital will replace her head for free!

You should make a video about how you got into American Girl dolls? Why was Kirsten to doll you fell in love with? Why did you stop collecting dolls when you were in teens (after you got Josefina), etc.? I would love to hear your story.
I've talked about it across videos but never made one cohesive video about it so maybe I'll do that 💜 I didn't stop collecting dolls in my teens, I just had all the historical AG dolls and there weren't any more to collect 🤣
Oh what joy. Love your sweater. I have also several Norwegian sweaters. My first rescue and AG doll was a PC Kirsten, I named Solveig Anneliese. With all her problems stemming from not proper care (harsh cleaning fluids, bubble eye, disintegrated wig, legs needing restringing) I love her the most. She has the softest eyelashes and needs a light face up(hers is all gone), she has been rewigged and I kept her old wig. She came with her summer dress and her extra boots and I slowly gathered a few of her pieces. ( I might need to catalog those). She always sits real close to me. She is my muse and my clothing model. She started my AG doll collection of 5 years, many are rescues.
I grabbed this sweater at a thrift store and was lucky to get it. I've always wanted a Dale of Norway sweater but they're so expensive (I always end up with a doll instead 😬). And I love the story about your Kirsten! She was lucky to be rescued by you, thank you for sharing 💜

Nice little reminder: I believe the purple and white spot dress in the final spread is called her flower picking dress. That is why flowers with the basket were displayed. I am not 100% sure though. :)

Wow! What a wonderful collection! I love how you did a look a like presentation with Kirsten, very creative. I have two Kirstens that I found in thrift stores. One had no clothes and the other one came in what I think is a birthday dress(the same as your pink one there but I do not have the white apron) and was wearing her original shoes and socks. I do love a complete collection though as we know it takes time to hunt down. That, as I know you realize, is a big part of the enjoyment and fun of collecting. That was a last minute decision to look like her but I'm so glad I did it 😂 I have had a couple of bonus Kirsten's that I found at thrift stores as well, but I ended up selling them when I downsized my AG collection. I had all the GOT at one point too (mostly gotten second hand), but sold all except Sonali and Kanani. One day I'll grab the rest of the missing pieces to Kirsten's Collection and she'll be complete!

I had Samantha growing up. I now have a daughter and am trying to get into all things American Girl again. However, upon visiting the website, I'm a little confused. I do know that they have historical characters still, but it seems like they're not as developed as the 90's dolls. I remember there being pages and pages of "stories" for each doll with tons of furniture sets and outfits. However, it seems that the doll stories aren't as intricate anymore with only 1-2 furniture sets and not nearly as many accessories or outfits. Am I just out of the loop and don't know what to look for, or is that how it is now?
That's how it is now unfortunately. Usually when a new doll is introduced, like Courtney, that's when the collection will be at its largest. As the years pass, they carry less and less in the line.

She's not a white body and I would have gotten her in 91 I think.
