Also from what I dug up, Ryme's older sister used to be the city GL, but she took over after her sister became a teacher in the academy. I really appreciate that Tera types allowed them to make a lot more interesting gym battles that also say a lot about their trainers. Katy choosing a honey loving bear and Brassius choosing plant looking statue as their signature pokemon were nice touches.

Another Pokemon game where the Normal Type Gym Leader is leaving an impression on people. Despite their plain type they're always the one that left impressions on people. And Larry got a neat philosophy on the Normal Type. No wonder it's my favorite type. ^^
Well apart for the main reason we all love him (That being him just being Larry) I also liked the fact that he was a member of the elite 4. When the little kid said his name I was like "Huh" (Just like Larry) I was not expecting him to be there
Really enjoyed the Gym leaders... Larry and Ryme were absolute standouts for me... Larry is that overworked tone-death guy while Ryme is an aging Rapper from the 90s era. I didn't get why her gym is a double battle.... but then you remember she has a twin sister (who works at the academy).
If I'm honest all major Gym Leader and Elite 4 battles should be Double Battle. It's just the best way to fight in Pokémon and the fight can be finished quicker. Also Elite 4 members should specialize in two types to make their teams more diverse. Elite 4 Poppy could be Steel-Fairy for example, while Elite 4 Larry would be good with Normal AND Flying types.

I love Larry, we’ve never seen a type of gym leader like him and I love how popular he’s become. But I wish I’d see some of the other gym leaders get appreciated more like Katy, Tulip and Kofu

Larry is the most standout gym leader. Iike the fact that Larry has two types of teams normal/flying type Pokemons which is most commonly used dual typing.
That actually makes sense as he uses grass type Pokemon which are known for their beauty and elegance so having someone who is handsome and flamboyant would fit grass type Pokemon perfectly
I'll straight up tell you why because he's just the regular everyday guy like the rest of us in life which fits his normal Pokemon type perfectly. Basically what it is is you love the Larry because you yourself can relate to him on an everyday level
Larry, Iono, and Kofu are my favorites. All the gym leaders are honestly great in this gen, they are actually challenging and have great personalities.

Iono's postgame team is honestly my favorite out of everyone's. All she needed was Rain Dance and she could have easily been the strongest challenge in the game, assuming you play with bootleg Set rules and aren't overleveled.
Not a lot of people giving my boy Grusha some love. He shows that despite being somewhat apathetic due to his big accident, deep down that spark still remains, and our battles with him help rekindle that fire a little bit. Which goes to show that when you feel like nothing has meaning, sometimes it takes someone else to help you find meaning again.
Everyone praising Larry and a few Kofus, Grushas, and Ionos sprinkled about, but I'm here rewatching Katy considering her position and choosing violence

When Ryme opted to use Curse when Spiritomb was her last pokémon in a two versus 1 match and already on a low amount of health I felt like burying my face in the desk... they all make such daft decisions, she may be a rapper but as a ghost specialist she fails horrendously
Not gonna lie, Generation 8 gym battle background was better. I was hoping these gyms would at least have two full bleachers with some people standing up cheering.
Gym Leader rematches have been in almost every game starting from Pokemon Emerald. Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl for me are the most memorable since they super jacked up the difficulty of the Gym Leader rematches.
This is very similar to Mario odyssey. You know where you go to the mushroom kingdom and go to those little towers and rematch on the Bosses very similar to that.
The only downside to this is that you don't get to have future rematches with them after the Ace Tournament. Pity, given it made Let's Go and the Shining Pearl/Brilliant Diamond more replayable.

Out of all the gym leaders, only Larry's ace is the same type as his speciality before terastalizing.
When Ryme opted to use Curse when Spiritomb was her last pokémon in a two versus 1 match and already on a low amount of health I felt like burying my face in the desk...

Gym Leader rematches have been in almost every game starting from Pokemon Emerald.
Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl for me are the most memorable since they super jacked up the difficulty of the Gym Leader rematches.

The only downside to this is that you don't get to have future rematches with them after the Ace Tournament. Pity, given it made Let's Go and the Shining Pearl/Brilliant Diamond more replayable.
