Quin, be aware.. there are two different designs on the Grover Cleveland Dollar to commemorate his two separate presidencies. Just something to be aware of.
I hunt dollar coins once a week. When you find a Susan B proof, it is obvious. The ones you found in this hunt are not proofs. Most boxes have around 50 NIFC coins, and most of these have P mintmarks and I live on the West Coast. According to Wikipedia, they made more than 4 million 2018 innovation dollars even though the books say otherwise. I believe it since this design shows up a lot more than any other design. And when you look at 2000-P dollars, do not forget to look for the speared Eagle or the rotated reverse. Good luck. :o)
Kaboom! Nice to see you back as always Quin! I can’t believe you’re doing $1000 box of quarters. That’s insane!
Thank you Quin, that was a fun watch.
For my birthday next month, my mom is actually getting me one or two boxes of every denomination to hunt, starting with a box of dollars. I get to keep all the finds, and anything I don't keep goes back to her account. Maybe my best birthday gift ever haha.
Wow, that’s awesome!
@RevanFan: "Mom you are not going to believe this, every coin was a find!"
@@bobulele Haha... but yeah, I wouldn't do that.
@@RevanFan how old are you and what kind coins you like got alit coins you will like I am glad see your mom is helping you hunt coins
@@QuinsCoins what coin book brand do you use and where can I get them?
Great Hunt so far. Enjoying your videos, can't wait for part 2 thanks 👍
Just found a 1914-D, 1957 steel proof, and a 196x dime stamped on a foreign coin today in my grandfather’s collection.
The new era of dollar coins coin quest
What wonderful start to your new collection. Looking to more in this series. Be blessed. My friend.
Really fun to watch
Awesome. Can’t wait to see you go through the rest of the box.
I absolutely LOVE dollar coins! Happy to see them receiving some love!
I have about 80 rolls to search. Amazing content. Thank you.
I love your videos 👍👍 you are one of my favorite youtubers
Thank you so much!
Are you going to be offering the new dollar coins placemats for sale soon?
Not super soon as I have a lot of other stuff going on, but I definitely think that there is potential there for a whole new placemat. I am loving these hunts so far!
Love looking through coins, great hunt ❤
Cool video man, this is a series i usually pay no mind to but youve shown me theres actually alot going on woth the dollar coins
Man I wish I knew about the cheerios dollar back when I collected dollar coins. I used to have an entire ziploc bag full of 2000 P dollars. Dollars started to get rich for my blood, so I decided to stick to pennies and nickels. Lol. I also used to have 3 wide rim 79's. This video may get me back into dollars. I was told the change machine at work gives dollar coins. 🤔
A great start for sure. The only thing I would add is after you open the rolls put the other glove on to prevent the tarnishing the edges. Really cool stuff...and alot to lay out for the box for which i thank you for the amazing effort🙂
Never watched anyone going through dollar coins before and neither have I gone through any. I knew like nothing of what to look for and thanks to you, Quinn’s Coins, I have a good amount of knowledge now. Pretty cool hunt and glad you got a great first box!!
Love your vids
How about you upload the information sheet that you have there and give it out to free for everyone to print!
I share your enthusiasm for coins ty
I would like a dollar coin mat, I would be interested in it. Great coin hunt, keep up the good work.
I’ll do a push up for every like on this comment
Your lucky I can only like once lol
Good luck, Skippy!
I have a whole lot of coin rolls and it would be an honor for you to put them on your channel. and Yes there are a whole lot of wheat pennies and old quarters and stuff
I'm surprised that album has spaces for Presidential dollars that haven't yet been minted. (When you see someone's likeness on U.S. coins, currency or stamps, it means they're dead.)
Thanks for the show and tell. . I have about a dozen of those also. Good information about it. 😊😊
don't know if you know or not but there are tow different Grover Cleveland dollar coins as he served tow non-consecutive terms.
I’m a newb to collecting &, already bought all your other coin cheat sheets. I would LOVE to add the dollar coin sheet to them. These are so incredibly helpful, when unwrapping. I have ordered a coin collectors book ( for more in depth info ) , especially where errors, NIFC etc. are concerned. I hope I’m
not the only one who wants
one . 🙏🏼❤️
Hi Ryan, it's been years since I checked out your channel and now you are all grown up! It's good to see you are still around and I hope you and your brother Kevin are doing well. I used to be a regular watching your lives streams 6-7 years ago.
There's one correction I would like to make in this video only because I am "old" and I have a good memory: The 1999 Susan Bs were absolutely intended for circulation, and that was why they were made. I don't think you were even born then, but those of us who are old enough to remember the year 1999 know that the mint revived the coin after a near 20-year dormancy period so as to be able to have these used in change for vending machines in post office lobbies. I was (and still am!) at the post office on a daily basis, and it was funny to see people put a larger bill into these machines just to get a book of stamps and then have the machine spit out all the dollar coins. The SBA coin was always confusing because of its size, so in 2000 they decided to take a cue from Canada and make the dollar coin "golden" and change the design along with the color. The post office lobby vending machines were gone a few years after they debuted because of too many instances of vandalism, but the dollar coins remained.
Hey! I definitely remember you from the old days! I appreciate the comment and the story. Thank you for stopping by and watching, I appreciate it 😄
@@QuinsCoinsYou bet. Glad to see you are thriving.
Every payday, I ask my bank for dollar coins. I often find coins that were not meant for circulation. I have almost completed the Presidential series (one coin from each President, not the full date and mint mark set). I have completed the Susan B. Anthony series (all circulating issues and one Proof) from coins obtained from the bank. I have been doing this for many years, so it's not something that happened overnight. I even sometimes get Eisenhower dollars, including the occasional 40% silver S-mint coins.
I have also gotten 4 or 5 of the 1979-P wide-rim Anthony dollars from the bank.
Can you make your cheat sheets available? They would be very helpful.
Outstanding😂 love your videos
Thank you!
I found a 2019 innovation series coin
Once all have been sorted, do you have to roll them again or does your bank take them loose? Where did you find the coin microscope…web site and brand please 🙏!
I put the D mint reverse and P mint obverse so I can see both sides of the coins in the album.
Man I been hunting these for 6 months never found 5 NIFC's in one roll. And he got so many Dwight Ds and I still have not found one yet.
You got lucky to find the wide rim.
Update your sheet to include the 2000-P "wounded eagle" dollar. Those are worth more than $1 as well.
I realized afterwards that I had forgotten that one, thanks!
Look for wounded eagles too
I mentioned in the last dollar search video the cheerio and wounded eagle Sacajawea becuase there was no mention of them in the video.
I just started this video but i hope you checked for the wounded eagle
I did not, but I will be keeping an eye out for them going forward!
Very interesting and fun 👍😁
I will never understand what happens to the millions of larger IKE dollars. They have to be somewhere.
They still exist but they're rarely spent in circulation much anymore. Some banks may even have a few; can't hurt to ask.
Big like number 65! Excellent hunting and thank you so much for sharing!
I love this video. The Dollar coins have so many interesting coins. You have me thinking about adding to my collections. This is going to be so much fun. I'm going to just need one of each design, to keep my type set up to date. Take care.
Thanks for these videos Quin, I know this is three months old at the time I am writing this, I have watched and enjoyed all the Dollar coin ones. I got a box from the bank last week but have not had time to open them yet. LOL But I got a Sak Proof from a snack machine at the motel last week. Lucky day.
We need a placemat for the Dollars, like the one that you use, Please!❤
Double check your Grover Cleveland for variety 1 & 2.
Hello new to the channel so this may be a question already answered? Do you sell your cheat sheets.. I really like them the way you put them together?
@@joecarter71171 hey Joe! I don’t sell the cheat sheet that you see in this video, but I do have placemats that I sell on my website and I have a dollar coin placemat in the works now! It should be available in a couple weeks. You can get on a mailing list to get notified when it’s available if you’d like! All the info is here: www.quinscoins.com
Where do you find these??
When time's get hard people use them to pay bills.
Hey the cheat sheet would be great!
These coins are super cool, is it hard to get a box of them?
Depends on where you are and your status with your bank! Business members will always have an easier time. And every bank will have different policies on ordering coins
That was fun thank you!
Great presentation, really slick, however, when you opened the box, where were the GOLD dollar coins as signified in the thumbnail header?
Maybe if I continue to watch an explanation may follow!
Wow that A.I is the first year one. Keeper!!!
Quin, where did you buy the books? I’ve been looking for them for forever now if you could tell me that would be great! Btw I’m subbed best RUclipsr ever
Where’s the. Link for the dollar books?
Thanks for reminding on the rule of needing to be dead before a coin can be made, been looking for Carter and Clinton.
Love this Quinn, would like that cheat sheet, I also have a number of these in rolls from the mint.
Well, Quin, thanks to you, I am looking at collecting these dollar coins now! I picked up a $25 roll of all brand new, uncirculated 2007 Thomas Jefferson... I am not sure what I should do with this roll - like if I should open it and take the best for the collection (likely only P), or keep the roll? I am leaning towards opening it and pushing the rest of the coins back into circulation. If you have already answered this, please point me in the right direction! I would like to know where you got those albums - those are REALLY NICE! Lastly, this and the following four hunts of dollar coins was really well done and I enjoyed all of them! Have you yet offered up your info sheet for the dollar coins to us? Cheers and Keep Hunting!
Be sure to check for no edge writing on the early presidential dollars.
Glad you enjoy alblums I have a few, they look kind of ok when they're filled in but I've come to dislike them because then you have to upgrade them. i HAVE A jEFFERSON Nickel collection that I stopped a couple years ago. Main reason , the mint always mess things up like the quarters, nickels, it's crazy I had a beautiful quarter collection (early dates not as good)but then comes state quarters, national parks, this and that and my alblum doesn't take them, I have spots for P, D, AND S, and they do it to all of them, and I was putting all silver S marks, bummer.
Had a great time watching your video , very informative.
Amazing
Thanks Quin, now I can't turn a coin over without saying 3 2 1 lols.
I would have taken all the coins and seperated them by person/date and then at the end, taken the best condition one and put it in the album.
I LOVE the designs on a lot of the Innovation Dollars. Best series in recent memory.
Absolutely!
What do you get this book of coins
They are called Dansco coin albums. You can get them on Amazon or at Wizard Coin Supply, plus a few other places
I've been re rolling dollar boxes for a whole and pulled some Apollo Ix coins and Shells Mr President Coin game Tokens. The tokens aren't US currency and I'm surprised they are passing through the federal reserve
I believe Grover Cleveland was president twice. Does your book have a spot for both dates?
pretty sweet, can't wait for the next $1 video
2000P also has a nice DDR - "the Wounded Eagle" die break
Did you check the George Washington coins for any missing lettering on the edge
Nice hunting. My kart frontier for albums are the golden $. Got a couple of nice folders for that. But I’d rather complete a couple more before moving on. Am a couple shy of a full type set Ike, ditto for the Susan B even tho I swore at first I’d never collect them, bitting my tongue on that one ( never say never 4 sure) but nice to see your pointers right ahead
The company i work for uses dollar coins in their vending machines. I throw 100 plus into this change machine weekly. I have found proof coins and bi-metal Euros from time to time. I enjoy the luck of the dollar coins!!!!
Maybe buy a Proof SBA for comparison? I think they’re fairly cheap!
How hard was it to get your bank to get you this box? I’ve had hard times getting fifty cent boxes.
Would like your dollar small mat....enjoyed your video, just bought my first box!
What post-production techniques were used to enhance this video?
Why would companies sell boxes of random dollars that could have higher value for face value? I’m confused
Awesome video as usual, and speaking of presidents, my dad and I's ancestor came from a small town in England, and he came with his wife (my ancestor and his children) to southern Illinois to get away from the bill collector, well the bill collector found out where my ancestor was, came to take him to court, and my dad and I's ancestor needed a lawyer and his lawyer was non other then Abraham Lincoln before he was president, very cool, and Abraham Lincoln helped my ancestor win his case. Again great video..
Where do you get those books for those dollar coins from
Hey Quin, the 1999 SBA dollar is supposed to be in circulation, the reason it exists is because mass transit systems in the US ran out of 1979-80 dated SBAs in 1999 and need to plug the gap until 2000 for the sac dollar.
I wonder if Tonya Harding (infamous ice skater) is related to President Harding...
Bought all three of your quick sheets. If you create a one dollar sheet, I will surely purchase it.
What about the one where the edge has been stamped both ways
i have one of the 1 dollar coin 2007 ones and i seen them going for 1500+ on ebay and im confused if its a rare one so ima go to a coin guy to see why these coins are going for so much and trying to see if its worth much.😐
also its a 2007 DE in very good condition
What banks do you have the best luck with. When it comes to coin roll hunting ?
I received a (2003)Liberty gold proof 20 dollar..that says -copy -on the obverse and 1933 for a date. Is it all gold?
the comments forgot to mention the reverse clash over her right shoulder and by her head on the left of Susans head , just a heads up
Very Cool Hunt!!!
Fun fact Taft had cows on the Whitehouse lawn
Quin - Don't forget the 2000P speared eagle - I have found and sold some for 90.00+ each
Hi Quinn! Will you be selling the $1 mat? I love the other 3 you have.
I'm looking into the requirements for the Boy Scout Coin Collecting Merit Badge for a grandchild, the BSA lump the Sacagawea and Native American coins into one group. There is a BS Coin Collecting folder by Harris/Whitman, I want to get a copy to review. Most coins needed are in the 1965-2015 range. Post silver and in the birth year range of the scouts. I pity those born in 2009 if they want to find a birth year set.
You forgot the wounded eagle on your cheat sheet.
1999 Susan B. Anthonys actually AREN'T NIFC. They were minted for circulation, but in low numbers.
Funny story why 1999 SBAs even exist: when it was known a new dollar coin was going to be released, several vending machine companies put in orders to the Mint for new dollar coins, so they could calibrate their machines to properly recognize them. The new design hadn't been approved yet (it would eventually be the Sacajawea dollar, that would be released in 2000) so the Mint minted more of the most recently approved dollar, the Susan B. Anthony dollar. This made the SBA dollar the US coin series with the longest gap (none minted beteeen 1981 and 1999, beating the previous record of the Morgan dollar, that had none minted between 1904 and 1921. If the 2021-present ones don't count lol otherwise the Morgan and Peace dollars broke that record again.) Business strikes were minted in Denver and Philadelphia. The 1999 proof set already went into production, so 1999 proof sets didn't include it. Instead they minted proofs as a separate product to sell to collectors, oddly in Philadelphia rather than San Francisco, making it the only proof SBA not minted in San Francisco.
Not counting the proofs, the only NIFC SBAs were the 1981 business strikes. These were only included in uncirculated sets intended for collectors. 1981 SBAs are thus pretty rare to see in circulation.
Small side-note: the 1980-S business strike SBA is actually the last coin the San Francisco mint ever made for general circulation. Since then they only make collector coins (proofs and commemoratives mainly).
I have 5 of the 2000 p cheerios Indian girl and baby coins, and one 2001. What about them is rare?
