To those of you saying “Oh that looks nothing, this trail is rideable.” Do not underestimate the GoPro effect. This is one of the most ridiculous trails I’ve ever ridden, and the only trail that can really compare to this with the exposure is the portal at Moab, and that’s a whole deal of it’s own.
You two are a real blast to watch! You are so natural and humble in your riding, the decisions you make and the way you cut your vids, allowing us to see your ‘’failures’’ and all the mental struggle… This isn’t about shredding, it’s about mountain biking and everything that comes with it, and that’s what I love so much about it! You are a great team, thanks once again 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Exposure terrifies me. Despite knowing I'm fully capable, I have nothing to prove to myself or anyone else. It's times like that I remind myself why I ride in the first place. If I don't ride a feature the first or second time I approach it, I don't do it. Everyone has their own style and comfort level, and I'm well aware of that epic video Eric made at the end of last year, but for me, giving myself the option to bail usually leads to me never doing it. If I'm approaching a jump out drop I'm uncomfortable with, I don't allow my mind to have an out. That just leads to run up after run up. If I attempt a feature a 3rd time, it means I'm doing it no matter what. For me that always helps.
@@BCpov Always! Your content is some of the best out there! Always expanding your comfort zone is my favorite kind of content 👍 I feel like you get to see the real person during an intense learning experience. Keep up the wonderful work!
Really enjoy your content. Everything from the sound track, editing, voice over commentary, and camera work come together to create a really cinematic quality to your story telling.
This is maybe your best vid to date! I’ve had many a ride where I’ve left bruised, bloody, and even broken…but the ones I’ve left defeated are always the worst. Your perspective is great! Knowing that riders of your skill level walk a feature now & again adds normalcy to my occasional bike-hikes. Thanks for this one.
Glad you're in the neighborhood, I've done FM enough times to claim to have ridden all the features but that dang drop in. The line over the rocks is probably easier than the up and around to the left, but man is the commitment and consequences equally high. Four kids, a wife, and a mortgage are enough to keep me away lol. Great job you two, inspiring work!
Never entirely realize how trees really affect our confidence. Especially with techy and janky lines, but great job at pushin through man! Congrats on 400k btw!
I admire the both of you for facing your fears and returning to session these features. Yuka, you inspire me as a female cyclist who loves to mtn bike!
Love seeing these accomplishment vids! Good on you both for going back to one of the hardest trails you've done in the past and getting redemption. That Utah mud looks like wet concrete, lol, at least the trails were dry. Great riding, Eric/Yuka!
I just watched your video and then the footage by Vinny T on the same trail. It really is eye opening to see the comparison between a pro smashing a trail and a competent regular rider struggling with features the pros are just zipping over. You can both be proud of your progression, that was a scary bit of riding.
Great riding from you both. It's funny how in your memory things aren't quite as bad as they were. I do this with some stuff in my mind every time I go to Arizona. Then when you get there, you are reminded why it intimidated you before. As usual, good job getting over the fear.
Exposure is no joke in Utah. Went down portal in moab a couple years back, hit that same mental block on those exposed cliffs. It's really tough to ride stuff normally within your skill level on a cliff edge.
I get how scary that cliff side bump is. It’s kinda tilted to the side towards the exposed cliff. Like you said one little mistake could kill you. I just went to a mountain bike trail today and there was a MASSIVE ravine next to us (about a 130ft drop). The trail was constantly bumping up then down and the small slabs of rock inside the bumps were really slick as it had been raining for the past week. I managed to clear the features there and I felt so good afterwards. Hopefully when y’all get back you’ll be able to clear all the features that you want too!!! Come down here and ride at SC. Biggin Creek, Wannamaker North Trail, and I are waiting for you!!!
You guys inspired me to go biking on lots of trails near me, thank you! I feel the same with exposure therapy, because today i rode some trails that were very twisty and my buke kept stopping and it was hard to start again, but i think i can pass these trails with more practice
Love this trail .. but don’t ride it anymore . It caused way to many scratches on my bike 🤣. Those rocks are unforgiving . Glad you got through it much better .
Careless going back to this trail with so much consequence while confidence is a complete polar opposite. Previous videos have seen you shy away from very simple features. I mean no disrespect here, but going back to basics occasionally to bolster skills and confidence is a game changer
Eric if you ever see this I have a question for you my local bike/ski Parc is sugarloaf nb you guys have been here before and on lift post number 3or4 there is a bcpov sticker was it you that put it there ?
NO LOW TOUCH! I usually watch your videos and think that, with enough improvement, I could follow suit. No way on this stuff. Don't care how good I ever get -- exposure is not my friend.
what an improvement. top work!!!! i can't believe you don't wear elbow pads. even getting a detachable face as well. those rocks are skin destroyers. eek....
Flying Monkey really is a tough trail. So hard to flow down it!
Janky as F!

Workin' the earth! Glad you two got through it and got some WINS!
Looking forward to your Moab videos, i know you guys did some tricky stuff out there!

Not riding a trail or walking technical features shouldn't be looked at as a failure. It's just making a decision.
And probably the wiser one ;)
It is still a failure. A decision to fail.
@@sauce1232 are u joking?
@@mtb284 No

Such an extreme rocky landscape! Looks fun and challenging
I have to say that seeing a new video from you this morning just brightened my mood by like 50%. I haven't even watched it yet 😂 thank you Eric!
I hope you were still in a good mood after watching it as well! 😄

If you get to New Hampshire, stop by the Hurricane Mountain trail system in North Conway!
No low touch!? She must be low-key mad at you for something Eric 😂 great video man!
Yeah, the dirt in southern Utah is vicious when it's wet. I'm glad you came back and re-did Flying Monkey, though! Progress!
Congrats on hitting 400k, not sure how recently! You'll get a million soon! Keep up the work and I love these types of vids!
Absolutely stunning scenery and videography. 👍

Great progression for you both. That trail looks brutal! Nice redemption! Cheers!
Excellent video. Wicked scenery. Awesome accomplishments for both of you. Ride Captain Ride!

you guys should come back up-to Redding California because that trail that you rode last time was redone and it absolutely SICK

I'm in love with the visuals and the narration of your videos.
After "low touch" comes "too slow touch". LOL
Very nice riding!
Congrats on 400k subs🎉
Amazing vid BTW

Love you guys, nice job. Best MTB youtube channel.
I would say never be too concerned with redemption. This is all about having fun and not falling off a cliff.
Good job! Proud of you both!
You guys did it and you both lived to tell about it!
Love this adventure guys! That trail looks insane! lol!
This is a really good channel...Good job guys
Nice work you two!!!
Love the ending..."what? No low touch??" ..."No...No"

Great vid! You really know how to tell a story
400k that's amazing 🤩 Congratz 👍🔥

Your content really is amazing!!!!
Welcome to Southern Utah.. Red clay central. Hahahha. Got to love it.
Finally a new Video. I have dying for a new one
2:07 - Ah, the classic 'claggy' UK mud - It's the norm here in winter, spring and fall.......
Stoked for the progression guys!!! Hahaha awesome work! That place looks amazing and gnarly as 🤣 also low touch is a no no 😝
Nice editing on that last jank section :)
GREAT video. I would be effing TERRIFIED!!!!
This video made my day! Stay gnarly!
the guy that had the smashed helmet must of been flying
I've saved myself so many times by hugging trees near home. Travelling to Utah recently had me terrified of that exposure. Different world for sure
I would die on this trail 😂🤣🤣 you guys are awesome!!! How behind are you guys on your videos?
Nice job guys!
Well done. Be careful 😊👍🏻👍🏻
This looks so easy. Thankfully I know how much GoPro affect you'll have here. So it sure is very gnarly. Respect for riding it.
Probably easier said than done but would love more new content from you guys!
That kind of riding I enjoy watching on my laptop (only) ..... In my 50's and that risk is well-beyond reward 🙂
Safe ride guys!🤙
In the UK, that level of mud is expected on every winter ride and it SUCKS!
We were in Moab yesterday!
Oof, what a way to celebrate 400k subs! 🙌🏼
Finally a new video!
Love the videos keep em up
My personal theory is it is best to ride this trail at least two or three times in one day. That is the best way to find and optimize your flow!
I've been to Virgin multiple times and never knew where Flying Monkey's name originated! The more you know!!
You guys did great.........everyone puts a foot down at some point
400k !
Love this trail .. but don’t ride it anymore . It caused way to many scratches on my bike 🤣. Those rocks are unforgiving . Glad you got through it much better .

Hi do you have any tips to clean rust of a bike chain?
Goood job guys helll yea🤘
i think 10:35 could be one of the coolest pics ever
I think you should change the gopro cam which without gimbal so your ride will be much better and more confident.
Muddy AF…that’s a crazy trail man
Sick trail!
Swallowing your Pride is better than serious injury or Death.....Take the wins when you can and just take the losses as learning experiences

you should really come through the midwest sometime
Question, what fender are you guys running?
Heck yeah!!!!
you should go back to the bike ranch in kamloops

What is the song in the begging of the video

Great video! Do I see 400k..?! 🤘🏼🤙🏼🙏🏼
Glad to see Ur homage to Jordie Lunn (Rough AF). Push ups and an opposite hand throw, these need to be done.
What brand is your bike?
what an improvement. top work!!!! i can't believe you don't wear elbow pads. even getting a detachable face as well. those rocks are skin destroyers. eek....
from st George Utah pretty close
Yep, much like the trails in the Highveld of South Africa.... All rocks, sand, jank and swearing. Lots of swearing. 😂
awesome!!!!!!!!!
The features are like russian roulete one wrong move your done brave of you
Sedimentary rocks
