The C++ and efficiency is such a big selling point if it will work out for them, and i hope it will. Just look at how big minetest worlds can be, and that is because of C++.

The game has been announced to be released multiple times over the years. Every time it it has been pushed back. I don’t believe channels like this anymore when they say anything. I only check in every once in a while to see how hard people are coping. The game might be good at the end of the day but channels like this are just sad and annoying.
My guess for what "Hyjam" is that it's likely a game jam but instead all the games or mini games are made within the hytale editor, which is actually a brilliant idea!
Riot games has an extremely good track record of always waiting for games to be fully finished before release so I really find it difficult to imagine they're putting pressure

I always forget. Will this game also technically be in the survival genre like minecraft? Or is it not a survival game at all more RPG style game. Been loving these updates, still remember seeing the original trailer years ago.
@@thepulverizer2800 It is called Hytale, but like Minecraft and Roblox, it can support a number of different playstyles/genres. Orbis is basically the base starter mode/world with a story, from what I'm understanding at least. Still has a randomly generated world I believe, but has it's own rules and story that don't have to apply to other worlds. I guess you could see it as a sort of something like Minecraft and Roblox put together? Not quite sure, and of course will be it's own thing of course, just the vibes I'm getting.
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for Hytale too, however I'm a bit concerned after reading the last development blog. The fact that they just started completely rebuilding the game from scratch in a more complex programming language means the entire development team now must learn how to properly manage memory and write efficient c++ code. The fact that they are integrating an opensource data oriented ECS (flecs) also shows how they are not comfortable enough as developers to roll their own solution which would likely be significantly more specialized and efficient. This data oriented approach also means they literally must redesign all the logic for their game and its not going to be a "translate this java/c# code to c++" situation. I think it could be at least two years before we see gameplay, especially since they have to build a new api around their c++ framework since they want modding integrated. I do think it's the right idea to make the switch, but i wish they'd be more upfront with the fact the game won't be ready anytime soon. Maybe that's why the team has been so slow with the updates. Anyway, awesome video!!!!!!!!!
In regards to the flecs thing... to be fair, one of the reasons people sometimes build functionality into Creations is cause none of the Vanilla Parts does everything one wants it to do... but on the other hand, if a Vanilla Part DOES do everything one would want, why waste time and Blocks trying to custom make the function? I'm sure stuff like Software is a similar concept. Why waste time reinventing the Wheel when an existing Wheel fits the bill of what work needs to be done with it? In regards to the rest, they didn't have a lot of resources or options when they started making the game in the first place... those options showed up later and they needed to take advantage of them when they became available when the transition would be at its least painful... when the Foundation was still under construction and the Foundation could be strengthened and optimized for max awesome BEFORE everything else got sat on it relying on it making Foundation Change too hard to ever be able to do. All Games are only as good as their Foundation. Being unable to make the Foundation with the right tools right from the get go was a tragedy but couldn't be helped. It wasn't something they did on purpose. Ya wouldn't diss a Minecraft Player for having no access to Nether Materials when starting their first House in a New Playthrough in their first nights, right? Yet once Nether Materials are within reach, ya wouldn't suggest 'too late now, why bother'...?
the main thing I cant wait for is the magic. I watched the announcement trailer several times and there are several scenes showing staves/wands which is the best to happen in my opinion. Ive been wanting more magic in Minecraft since the beginning because I want to use more than just undying totems and enchantment books I want to be spell casting at every mob I see casting fireballs everywhere
Just give us the damn game, for the love of god, i've been waiting 9 years for this game, now i have my own house a wife and might have a kid on the next few years, i won't even be able to play the game when it comes out, we have GTA 6 before Hytale, that is crazy

Hey I’ll say the same thing I said 5 years ago about hytail. As long as it’s fun, I’ll wait until it’s done. Just want devs to focus on quality and good working conditions. Time is not a factor to me.
Some points I would like to weight in on: 1 - "Alpha = All functionality, but full of bugs" As someone that has done Alpha testing, this is inaccurate. Alpha is core functionality complete, awaiting implementation of changes and features. It's not just bugs, and I would like to see these errors be highlighted, because failing to do so misinforms people who don't understand this stuff. 2 - "It will be available on all platforms" Except Linux it seems, which is a platform that has been gaining increasing attention over the last few years. Without official support, there is no guarantee the game will run on the platform. I would like to see this kind of information be made more apparent, as there are a lot of people either switching, have switched, considering switching, or simply learning about the options available to them. 3 - "Can we expect anything less" I would argue that there are many who would have expected more by now, maybe not a release date (There are enough people being vocal enough about that), but something along the lines of an estimated test version for the thousands that signed up for it a long time ago. I know this is only a news channel for updates like this, and I appreciate it. I understand that the lull in consistent updates about the game gives little to work with. However omitting details, not pointing out facts, and glossing over concerns is in itself concerning. All in all, I would like to see more thorough coverage, as well as considerations made to accommodate those areas of missing information, details, and lack of communication be more effectively made apparent. I see this happen repeatedly with many news style channels, and it just feels like placating rather than news. Don't get me wrong, I was and still am excited for the game, but I still have my own concerns for parts of it, my most notable one being echo chamber results. I realize as a channel geared towards news and information, there is only so much that can be done to cover these things. However more should be done with viewers in mind in my opinion.
when they say all platforms, they mean consoles and pc, not talking about OS's. Also, Linux is still annoying to set up and run, and just isn't as easy to use as windows, and considering most people buy pc's prebuilt, that come with windows, more people still have windows. Sorry, but until Linux becomes as easy to install and run as windows and gets more official support from games, it just will not take over.
@@DakumunDahBat MacOS is specifically stated as a platform, not Mac. MacOS is the OS, and an OS is a platform in terms of compatibility. Additionally Ubuntu is a distro of Linux that is easy to install, and ease of use varies person to person, but that wasn't the point of my comment. Neither was I intending to say Linux will take over. I'm not sure at what point you misconstrued that, as I was only highlighting the fact that Linux users are increasing over time for many reasons. Additionally just because someone buys a pre-built does not explicitly mean they are using windows, as it's entirely plausible that they could buy a pre-built, then install Linux, or install Linux on a system they already own.
@@ColinXYZ Potentially, but there is little we currently know of the environment the game will run in. With the rise of more games using kernel level anti-cheat, it's entirely possible for that in and of itself to cause problems with running it on Linux, among other things. Not saying it's impossible, just saying that without information like that, there is no guarantee it will work, and there are many factors that can make a game incompatible with Linux even with Proton. So things like that should be highlighted in my opinion. I personally feel stating "PC as a platform" is too broad of a scope to be accurate. It's the same as saying a game will run on a PC, but without giving the minimum hardware requirements to run said game, then expecting people to figure it out their self, only to find out something like their GPU or CPU can't handle it, if you get my analogy.
Its really cool to be here, as an OG. The wonderful feeling of knowing that in 5, 10, or even 15 years people will look back at this. I honestly feel honored to be able to see Hytale's beginning, and I can't wait to actually experience the game once and for all. Soon, in roughly 2 and half months, the Hytale wait will be 6 years and ongoing. Pretty crazy right?
6:30 this makes the timeline of the engine development a little, more understandable, having to develop for even just more than one platform, and having it be stable across all platforms is not easy
Saying Pirate Software is a game developer is a bit of a stretch. He is a CEO of a brand with a specialization in security software lol. He knows how to manipulate the algorithm and manipulate people. Never understood where his credibility comes from. People are fascinated with his success as an influencer but it blows up into him being this authority that he just isn't. Got like actual legitimately talented people like Vedal who treat him like the patron saint. He gives such terrible programming advice which is probably why he barely tries to program anymore. He is the modern Zuckerberg lol I understand getting minecraft youtubers involved or people within the Hypixel sphere but not him. Unless the game is releasing soon and they are getting ready for a big influencer push.
I do think they need to do more dev blogs. Even if there isn’t much to share it’s better than nothing. And maybe upload more OST tracks to their RUclips every now and then
As a minecraft modder, making the engine from scratch and all the details that go into making the game, all the assets, all the animations, particle physics, terrain generation, etc etc etc. Not to mention building the engine for a lot of different platforms. That is absolutely immense work. It takes a lot of man power under a long time to flesh out something like this. I do think they should be more transparent, but at the same time, showing off something that isn't final is often a bad thing because it gives the impression that what is shown is the final version. I'm just glad they're still on the grind to be honest. I hope they focus their energy on the project with passion, instead of seeing it as a job they have to do because they committed to the task, and not to get overwhelmed. It's easy to feel discouraged when your hobby becomes your job, and it can deter you from enjoying the process of building something from the ground up because there's suddenly a lot of pressure put on you to deliver something good. I hope they're able to allow themselves to not be perfectionists. The hardest part of a project is finishing it before you give up, but doing so you've surpassed 99% of everyone who tried.
@@mila-d5b None of them has the riot polish, or a budget that of this studio. The game's gotta run well too, not just possess a lot of content. There's one game that is an exception and that's that minecraft clone with realistic crafting and survival. But if there had been a better minecraft out there already we would've had it by now. We don't even know what the Hytale team is cooking up, either. It seems they've gotten higher ambitions now compared to what they set out for at the start. Whether that's good or bad, time will tell.
Cross play for a game like this is vital for the age it's going to be released in. It would astronomically hinder the vision of its massive scope if it didn't adopt the ability to play with friends from different platforms
since Hytale is under Riot now, this reminds me of how relevant people and other FGC personalities were slowly approached by the devs when they were making Riot's fighting game, 2XKO, and they were invited to the Studio and get to check out the game and at the same time released a trailer/first look of the game. So just basing on that sequence of events from 2XKO, we might get an "official" first look of Hytale within 3-6 months time, probably through a new trailer or something along with content creators releasing a video or sharing their opinions after seeing/trying out an early version of the game.... hopefully.
I know people really like Pirate Software, and he does have some very valid points in terms of gamers and their attitudes, but he also should not be the authority that everyone looks to. For example, his complaints about the blog posts are unwarranted. He claims he's got a deep insight into the industry, but has zero empathy for the fact that those dates were not about progress, but about regaining territory in the new engine. If Hytale was just posting what they were working on then, the community, especially those with less knowledge of game development, would have been screaming from the rafters that the game is dead. I mean they do that anyway, but had they posted that they were technically further back in progress than they were at the start of 2020, it would not have gone down well. Again, Thor is great in some respects, but he has a bit of a holier than thou attitude. His arrogance comes across as deeper knowledge than it actually is, and people latch on to his opinions without taking any further thought. He isn't always right, even if he has convinced a lot of his viewers that he is. I enjoyed a lot of the clips I've seen of him, but then I've also seen some where he has been saying his opinions as if they are fact and that there is no questioning it. That attitude is really dangerous when they have a following. It's still great he's going to encourage the Hytale community, but I fear that the day he decides he doesn't like something about Hytale, there will be a lot of parrots sqwaking the same tune.
Welcome to the internet. LOL The content creators are the players and the consumers are the NPCs. Asmongold is perfect example of this.. Well said btw I don't watch much of Thor so I cant judge but from the little videos I've seen he doesn't really come off as arrogant. Especially compared to Asmon but idk.
@@Rated_xv Oh, he is nowhere near as unbearable as Asmongold. I can actually stomach Thor so long as he isn't talking about a topic that I don't think he has much authority in. As I said, he does have some really valid points, and generally he's a pretty good guy. It's just that as his popularity grows, he is likley to continue feeling self assured that he is always right. That happens with a lot of "personalities" these days, that their crowd allows them to believe that they are right, since so many will just agree with them. But yeah, in general, he's definitely not that bad... At least not if Asmongold is the standard.
I was literally in that stream when he said that. It came out of nowhere and I was very surprised. I don't know if he would have said it had the WoW servers not been down at the time xD
My issue with the "PC" umbrella, is that for users running Linux, we may not get the game out the gate. I haven't seen anyone confirm, on the team, that Linux users will be able to play. Usually when the refer to "PC" they mean the Windows OS. That means we will need to get things worked around if we want to play and that rarely happens day one. Unless they launch on Steam day one, then I'm more hopeful I can play on launch.
Man, I saw something about Hytale years ago and I thought the project died out since then. I had no idea it still existed because they had such a lack of promotional material.
"Lack of promotional material"? It had its own website and early concept art. The real problem was that it was announced too early (six years ago), and they had to redo the engine. Even if we get a beta, how much longer would we have to wait for the official release.
I have a friend who works for them, I asked about hytale and he showed me animation he was working on, he deleted the images after and anytime I ask since then, he refuses and states he literally shouldn't for the games sake. Pure dedication, but I believe from what we've all seen so far, the long wait will be worth it.
id honestly be amazed if the studio doesnt tank before its released its been like 6 or more years now and theyre openly saying that its going to be another 2 years or more lmao might aswell just call it star citizen at this point
This game could already be in our hands and people would love it. The proof of that is how Minecraft was when it first came out. The issue is they want the game to be much bigger and more complete than Minecraft is in its current state after 13 years of development.
i really hope this game will be like minecraft meets terraria so what i mean is minecraft building complexity but terraria gameplay loop with plenty of quests cool bosses and weapons and armor to fight for and collect
btw, PC means Personal Computer. It says nothing about the OS (Operating System) that it is running. So you can have a PC, but then run different OSes on it, e.g. Linux, Windows, Mac OS, etc.
I very much sympathize with PirateSoftware's opinion at the beginning clip! And not just with the blogs! We should've gotten progress videos, annual updates on their RUclips channel to show where they are at, revealing small tidbits of detail about the things we'll be seeing (without revealing any major plot-points or special events they wish to keep hidden). As someone who gets their news about Hytale off of RUclips, and follows them on Twitter, it just seems so quiet! At least you have been able to keep me informed, but unless I decide to go out of my way to check their website every week for the chance to see a new update, I'm not seeing much from them! That being said, still excited to see what is coming!
Pretty hard to give out info when it will keep changing. They changed the whole codebase, I think it's good that they are keeping quiet as it's just a better strategy. Who knows what kinda stuff they would've said would come to the game only for them to then figure out that it wouldn't. Would've been another no man's sky. Also this is an exploration game, Minecraft was fantastic when you knew nothing, so giving everyone the experience of everything being new is the right choice
I’m so hyped to hear that it’s coming to consoles!!! Because the last time I heard about what platforms the game was gonna be on, it was only planned for pc. But now we know for sure, I’m definitely looking forward to this at launch 🙂↕️

Orbis is a survival rpg but hytale itself is an engine/platform
@@kweebecwait so the name of the game isn’t hytale it’s orbis?
@@thepulverizer2800 the name its indeed hytale, orbis its the name of the world
@@thepulverizer2800Consider Hytale as Roblox replacement

@@Jamtartet thanks! I like ya too!
Hypixel Studios should definitely host game jams in the engine to see who can make the best maps/mods
We will have HL3 and GTA 6 before Hytale
Some points I would like to weight in on:
1 - "Alpha = All functionality, but full of bugs"
As someone that has done Alpha testing, this is inaccurate. Alpha is core functionality complete, awaiting implementation of changes and features. It's not just bugs, and I would like to see these errors be highlighted, because failing to do so misinforms people who don't understand this stuff.
2 - "It will be available on all platforms"
Except Linux it seems, which is a platform that has been gaining increasing attention over the last few years. Without official support, there is no guarantee the game will run on the platform. I would like to see this kind of information be made more apparent, as there are a lot of people either switching, have switched, considering switching, or simply learning about the options available to them.
3 - "Can we expect anything less"
I would argue that there are many who would have expected more by now, maybe not a release date (There are enough people being vocal enough about that), but something along the lines of an estimated test version for the thousands that signed up for it a long time ago.
2 - I think proton will take care of linux support.
(I liked my own comment.)
He is the modern Zuckerberg lol
I understand getting minecraft youtubers involved or people within the Hypixel sphere but not him. Unless the game is releasing soon and they are getting ready for a big influencer push.
you're such a positive figure in this community! I don't always keep up with Hytale, but when I need to catch up, I always come here!
I totally forgot about hytale because of how little updates I've seen from them but this video has got me hyped again
I do think they need to do more dev blogs. Even if there isn’t much to share it’s better than nothing. And maybe upload more OST tracks to their RUclips every now and then
This is gaining steam recently. I am so excited to see what comes of this.
The hardest part of a project is finishing it before you give up, but doing so you've surpassed 99% of everyone who tried.
yet low budget minecraft clones from 2014 have the did the same thing with same amount of content but in less than a year
@@mila-d5b None of them has the riot polish, or a budget that of this studio. The game's gotta run well too, not just possess a lot of content. There's one game that is an exception and that's that minecraft clone with realistic crafting and survival.
But if there had been a better
minecraft out there already we would've had it by now.
We don't even know what the Hytale team is cooking up, either. It seems they've gotten higher ambitions now compared to what they set out for at the start. Whether that's good or bad, time will tell.
I love the way you mimicked how Tommy says “Mug”. 😂
At least not if Asmongold is the standard.
hearing that piratesoftware may end up working with the hytale team gives me a really good feeling, if they follow thors advice the game will do well

Vintage Story has been a lot of fun in place of Minecraft.
Hytale has a lot in common with Titanfall 3
I was literally in that stream when he said that. It came out of nowhere and I was very surprised. I don't know if he would have said it had the WoW servers not been down at the time xD
My issue with the "PC" umbrella, is that for users running Linux, we may not get the game out the gate. I haven't seen anyone confirm, on the team, that Linux users will be able to play. Usually when the refer to "PC" they mean the Windows OS. That means we will need to get things worked around if we want to play and that rarely happens day one. Unless they launch on Steam day one, then I'm more hopeful I can play on launch.
why the heck did I not hear Thor talk about Hytale on a short, but I hear it here instead?
Hi Kweebec Corner! Been watching your videos for a few years in anticipation of Hytale. Love your content and years of dedication! You rock 🥳
The game releasing on all those Platforms is exciting
Man, I saw something about Hytale years ago and I thought the project died out since then. I had no idea it still existed because they had such a lack of promotional material.
"Lack of promotional material"?
It had its own website and early concept art. The real problem was that it was announced too early (six years ago), and they had to redo the engine. Even if we get a beta, how much longer would we have to wait for the official release.
I haven't seen hytale being in my feed for so long i thought it was just a dream
Hytale before World War 3 Pls.
Hytale development is like the “when then will be now…” skit from spaceballs
I have a friend who works for them, I asked about hytale and he showed me animation he was working on, he deleted the images after and anytime I ask since then, he refuses and states he literally shouldn't for the games sake. Pure dedication, but I believe from what we've all seen so far, the long wait will be worth it.
That's Chad friend there

Hytale is still getting developed. I hadn't heard anything and thought it was getting cancelled 😂
This game could already be in our hands and people would love it. The proof of that is how Minecraft was when it first came out.
The issue is they want the game to be much bigger and more complete than Minecraft is in its current state after 13 years of development.
WoW 2026 and it's not even a release by then.. that's a long time from now and will most likely have forgotten about this game..
lets be honest, the game is likely never gonna come out.
i really hope this game will be like minecraft meets terraria so what i mean is minecraft building complexity but terraria gameplay loop with plenty of quests cool bosses and weapons and armor to fight for and collect
btw, PC means Personal Computer.
