As a travel agent I watch alot of video about various resorts I am going to visit or have clients going to, I have a large group going to the Occidental at Xcaret next January and this is one of the best video reviews I have ever seen! I learned alot of new stuff about this resort and I took a tour of it last October!!! Great work, I will definitely be subscribing to your channel and will be showing this video to my clients
My family went last year in early September and we had a great time. It wasn't crowded as it looks in your video. We want to go again next year. The Xcaret park is a must to visit.
What great tour and review. Thinking about going to this place and your video has greatly helped in my decision making. Hope you and your family had a great time.
Great video very informative, been looking at many videos and yours is by far the best I have seen. keep making them good luck for your future, we have now gone ahead and booked this hotel on purely because of your review I hope the Hotel see this and appreciate your skills.
@@rickvvtravels1097 I just made it home. I had an amazing time as the Occidental. The resort is truly fabulous. We got upgraded to a full suite since the mini suites were not available. The suite had 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms which was awesome. One of the bathrooms didn't get hot water, but it was ok for me since it was so hot outside. The main buffet was not good at all. You gave it a 6-6.5 (so generous), I give it a 3 to 4. The buffet by the beach was much much better. The staff were so nice. The timeshare agents were annoying. They were like vultures. hahahah The pools and the beach pool was so awesome. My daughter and I stayed in there for hours. The Xcaret Park next door is amazing. I highly recommend it. It was a much needed vacation and now we are ready for reality.
This is probably the best review I have seen, very detailed and you showed things other reviewers don’t. Thanks for this! Just a question how much did you pay per night? Also it seemed a little crowded, did you have a problem finding a place to settle down in the pool and beach? I’m planning on going in like two weeks and want to know what to expect
Thank you for watching. I payed about a little bit under $300 a night including taxes and fees for a family of 3. There were a lot of people but there was no problem finding room in the pool or beach because they are so massive. The problem comes at the a la carte restaurants. There is no reservation system. So if you don't line up before it opens you are likely not going to be eating there. Hope you have a great time.
You produced a great video so informative! Question do you know if you get a better deal pre-purchasing the Xcaret park tickets thur your room booking? Or once you arrive at ticket box in the hotel ?
Thank you. The resort offers it's guest a ticket that is valid for the entirety of their stay. That is the only discount that I am aware of. I believe the price is the same if you purchase it in advance or onsite.
Thanks. Filmed in March 2022. Don't have a top 10. From my experience every resort I've visited have their own positives and negatives. No resort have been perfect and I also haven't had any terrible experiences either.
Thank you. All the footage from the video was from inside the resort. The shows were at the resort and are included. There is a different show for each night of the week.
We only have one tour day and plan to go to Xplor as we have all young adventure adults. Can you walk to xcaret from the resort? I heard it was much more expensive and everything is an add on?
There is a direct entrance into Xcaret park inside the resort but for Xplor you have to exit out of the front lobby and then walk through the driveway towards the main highway. It is probably a 10 minute walk.
My 3 year old loved it but unfortunately was not old enough to join the activities at the kids club. If you have children I am sure that they will enjoy interacting with the animals .
No free airport shuttle. I rented a car but they can arrange a third party shuttle service to pick you up from the airport for a fee. I would just go online and compare prices if you don't feel comfortable driving in Mexico.
Hi! great video! we are planning to visit this hotel next year! Is the Xcaret Park free of charge for the guests of this hotel or there is additional fee to pay?
Thank you for watching the video. Unfortunately, there is a separate admission fee for Xcaret park but they offer a special discounted ticket that is valid for the entire duration of your stay. So you don't have to spend a whole day at the park. You can go in and out as you please through the resorts direct entrances into the park.
Thank you. The shuttle from the airport would be a 3rd party and the Xcaret park tickets are good for the duration of your stay . I believe they cost around $240 and are only good for Xcaret park itself. Not good for any of the other parks owned by Xcaret
@@rickvvtravels1097 Would that be their "Xcaret Admission" which is $109.99/adult? If so, that's a great deal to just have fun and come back for a meal and unlimited return while you are stay with Occidental. I went to Xcaret 5 years ago and believe me there is too much to do in a single day.
As a guest there is a special ticket that you can purchase for Xcaret park only which will allow you to visit for the entirety of your stay but nothing for the affiliate parks.
@@rickvvtravels1097 thanks for the info. Can you share a little more details, let's say, the ticket is per person or per room? And you can visit every day? Also, any idea of the price of the ticket? And I think you said in the video, you can walk to Xcaret park, is that correct? Thanks.
@@mikesimon785 if you decide to go to xcaret, xenses, xplor, xoxilmco, xel-ha, xavage etc it cost more per person to go to each of the park. Hi, did you book a taxi from Cancun International to the hotel before you arrived? Or did you get a taxi outside the airport upon arrival? How much did the taxi cost?
I rented a car prior to arriving to Cancun. It is less than a 1 hour drive and gave me the flexibility to stay and explore different areas of Quintana Roo. Such as Cancun, Akumal, Tulum as well as Playa del Carmen. It is very easy to get around there in a rental car.

There is no “beach”! Just a man-made dug-out lagoon sort of thing. Red flag warnings were flying all day, every day.
