    You know I've been actually looking for quite a while to figure out how the fictional hawkeye and legolas shot quickly and all I got was Lars Andersen which is too ancient of a skill. I have problems figuring out the rest position and you inspire me with this method to be able to even use a whisker biscuit. You are calm, collective and very informative and not a you don't know anything, this is your ABCs kind of person. Great video thanks

    Thanks for your instructional presentation. And thanks for not bad mouthing Lars. The archery community needs to grow up in regard to Lars. I believe your shooting a 22lb draw. I too torn my shoulder rotator cuff and I had to start shooting a 15 lb draw. I am working back up to my normal draw. But trick shooting archery is not about draw weight but technique. Again, thank you. Blessings - Mark DeZuba

      I love my 22lb bow. I can get so very much practice in it. The firearm sport community trains with .22 rounds...funny coincidence. I can shoot my 22lb bow hundreds of times in a sitting....much better for prwctice than a 40lb plus

    I found that doing it on the right side of the bow helps a lot on your right hand. You don't rotate your wrist, instead you rotate the arrow in between your fingers. This way you can keep your index finger in just as much as the other two. It was better for me than what you do, because you have the main weight on your middle finger when drawing. My way I have much more power with my index. I guess it's easier drawing heavier bows this way.

    If you shoot off the right you don't need to lean left just put the index finger against the arrow to keep it in place and you can move the bow any direction. I think the Egyptians did it that way.

    If you put the arrow on the right side on top of your thumb you can hold your left index finger on top of the arrow. This way you can have the bow in any angle, and when you shoot just lift up the index finger at the same time as you release

  • @DerekBartlettBeorn
    @DerekBartlettBeorn 3 года назад +1

    This is great. The thing I can't really see though is how you're pinning the arrow/s against the right side of the bow when you're holding extras (as opposed to the typical slavic with the forefinger behind the fletches), like for example are your fingers/hand curved or something? This is a method I'd certainly like to try, just trying to get the details.

  • @jareth7456
    @jareth7456 4 года назад +2

    I just grab a handful and shoot slavic from the right side canting to the right i have no idea why lars cants the bow opposite the whole idea i thought is too be able to just grab a bunch of arrows and start putting holes in souls . I don't line them up either i grab the arrows with the thumb and index middle and ring fingers from the quiver pinch the first one with the thumb and index finger and roll it forward with index finger along the arrow pointing forward pressing the nock into the pad of the thumb with the middle and ring finger this way you can feel the orientation of the nock to see if it needs a slight roll but basically you simply drag the string across the thumb pad and onto the nock, there is only one position that the nock can end up in where it won't go right onto the string so when you press the nock into your thumb pad you feel if it ended up in this orientation and a slight roll will correct it.

  • @KacsaFacsaro

    I tried this method, but 1 thing I dont understund. If I use "wooden" nocks (what is just a slot in the end of arrow body) how can I feel or how can I place the arrow on the string properly without look? For examlpe, I place the arrow to the string across with nock, it not fit on the string, so I have to tilt my arrowholder hand for match. But this is a lot of time.
    Who practice this method, all use wide nocks what was in the video? Or what is the trick? Wooden nocks are not the perfect for this?
    Thanks for answer.

    There is something that i have seen hundreds of times, on many videos, and that is drawing a bow to show what is done.
    BUT the most important thing is, they let the bow down correctly but never tell for those who have not used a bow, why you just dont let go of a string unless there is an arrow in the bow.
    The reason is very VERY important more so these days with seperate limbs.
    If you did do this with a long bow, chances are you would nesr blow your bow hand off or at least be full of splinters because it will explode!!
    The reason being, all the energy of the bow is centred on were the arrow is i.e. near the centre of the bow, just where you have holdbof it.
    The decompression would be so fast that it has no where to go other than at this point or at the very tips of the limbs, but more usually at the grip.
    You always let a drawn bow down again very slowly to it brace hight.
    With the use of mag alloy for risers(the handle of the bow) , and most modern bows are made of this, it really does explode and can actually catch fire.
    So for all who fancy a go at archery please remember, NEVER LET A BOW STRING GO WITHOUT AN ARROW IN THE BOW,
    LET IT DOWN FROM THE DRAW SLOWLY!!!

    • @ArminHirmer
      @ArminHirmer  6 лет назад

      however you like or need to do it is fine for me. this kind of shooting is surely nothing for a mag alloy riser bow. keep your slow draw with it :) but there are many other bows outside, which can be dry fired without problems (even if I don't do that, but in a combat situation this always can happen - which you with a mag alloy riser will not train for)

    Now: how do you do that and maintaining your grip aroung the arrow in the drawhand while taking out maximum drawlength? For me: holding another arrow in the drawhand fucks it all up by either the extra arrow touching the one being fired away or the extra arrow makes it impossible to keep the same aim while fully drawn up.

      thank you. there are too many good ones out. It depends first on your budget, if you want to go for a fibreglass one or a laminated one or even a composite one... price range 70 USD to 1200 USD :) Alibow has a nice fibreglass one, Akosbow has a nice laminated one, Taylor Archery too.... too many :)

      i think there are many "beginner" videos out there. the shown way of fast shooting is maybe more for an advanced archer

    nice tuturial , but you are using a slow technic in shooting, normaly archers put the arrows on the right handle of the bow, so they can draw faster !!!

      Yes. This is the "Kassai" methode. His record
      14 arrows in 17 second from horsback to moving target.

    Armin, I think that "threading" the arrow between string and a bow kinds defeats the purpose as far as speed shooting is concerned )))
