Blocking the negative commentary isn't what a channel creater should want to do, even negative comments help their algorithms which therefore gives them more access to monetary actions.
Me, personally, I get an absolute charge out of reading the negative views of ignorant people who have never done anything like what the channel created does, and yes, there are way too many ignorant individuals that are imbeciles in their very actions of saying that the way the channel creater does whatever it is the channel is about

Bungee cords like to do physically impossible things when you are not looking.
I used a couple to tie a sheet of corrugated plastic to the mirrors for years, to keep ice off the windscreen.
Some mornings I would find the sheet flipped around upside down, ice side frozen to the glass.
I had no idea how that was possible, until one windy day I saw the sheet lift clear off the windscreen like a kite, hover two feet from it, flip around neatly, and sit back down. Even now I'm convinced the bungee cords don't even stretch that far, but it happened many times.

My first thought was someone snagged it. Maybe it's being so close to Olympia, where they'll steal anything not bolted on (I've literally seen a guy steal a bag of trash out of a pickup in a parking lot). Either way, sucks it's gone, but no reason to bad mouth how you hung it, seen that done by so many people it's just stupid to call anyone on doing it. I noticed that when you put the passenger side ratchet strap to hold the axle down to your wrecker, that you didn't get a full wrap on your ratchet strap. They can come loose. Every ratchet strap needs at least 360 wrap over itself so it can bite down on the ratchet material. You got lile 2 clicks and it can slip on the ratchets winch. They do come loose the way that you've got it.
It's something to always keep in mind when using any ratchet strap. Give it some slack before you start to click away.
Love the videos and the new wrecker. Looks sick!

Just to clarify . What you are using are trap straps which I would get at a truck stop . Good choice . Bungie cords are the round colorful elastic cords . I enjoy the videos . Thanks 👍

Theyre bungee cords! And they're literally attached to the light bar from the factory! Just to clarify!

    • @JohnHallgren
      @JohnHallgren Год назад

@@George-dy3ptno, they can’t be bungee cords because they are made from a solid material as a strap, not from a number of cords grouped together inside a fabric cover. Most people would consider them the same thing but technically they are two different items.

So glad you're enjoying your new equipment Casey. In your down time, maybe you could deliver "Meals on Wheels" to all the whiners you have to deal with. Obviously either mommy has run dry, or she is too tired to run down to the basement to suckle her 40 year old son! You could deliver formula to all the "know it alls" living under the clicking of mommy's high heels a couple of feet above their heads! 😂

A lot of drivers have lost load hoses from tying them down with bungee cords. DOT made a law that everything you use tie your load down with needs a weight rating and yes it sucks because I use to use bungee cords

Using ratchet straps instead of chains on the lift is a good idea. It may not have the tensile strength of a chain but I think it'll help keep the truck more planted on the lift so yeah I like that way of the break away tie down.

That is a good idea of the blue flashing light! We need to do similar here in British Columbia as what You said about people don't care is so true. I once came across a road sign that said..."Drive like Hell, You'll get there faster." That was a powerful message that most just ignore today. BC Has started a fine system if caught not slowing down for emergency vehicles, including tow Trucks, yet that's still ignored. Seems to Me that People these days have NO RESPECT anymore!

Casey....if anyone second guesses what your methodology is with regards to your work, I just gotta say this. I know NOTHING about heavy vehicle recovery, but you are writing a manual on how to do it here on your channel, and that's plain for the layman to see. You take care of your clients and their vehicles, and you take care of YOU in the process. Putting this all up on RUclips validates that what you do and how you do it is on point. Hell....I'm 63 years old, and I may sell my house and buy a rig like yours!!

I sympathise with you having to work roadside. I've been doing it for so long now, I know my odds are pretty bad.

Love your new tow truck plus your sarcasm and VERY efficient towing. Would having a short line on each wood block would prevent you from having tp cross over the other side for retrieval. Portable blue strobes are great idea and in MN, we have a "pull over" law when approaching emergency vehicles plus many people also do it for disabled vehicles.

Casey, I have told you before that I have never ran a tow truck before. But that I plan on running an off-road tow truck. I'm definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Hell if a zombie were to eat my brains it would probably starve to death. But I have towed cars off the highway. The most dangerous part for me has always been being on the side of the road.
