“The exhaust is currently water cooled” 😂😂😂😂
Good to see many of us got a chuckle from that comment.
@@dennisboesiger1033 I don't comment very often but paused his video here for this exact reason. ROFL 😂
@@jacobhackford3906 beer through the nose on this one. I hope more folks got the joke.
@@mikeboard1 it's incredibly hard to find humor when SHTF but Casey's a master at it, that's why I support his channel.
I laughed for ten minutes after that!!! Hilarious!
Apparently the “mechanic “ who worked on your friend’s truck sucks. First he charges double the quote and he expects buddy to pay for the parts to fix what he screwed up. He’s a real stand-up guy. Spread the word.
Double the quote because to do it right because we do it twice!
Love your work, Casey.. must feel good to pay it forward like that..
Why was the gasket changed in the first place? Leaking? Did the mechanic check the head for warp or just throw another gasket at it. I`d make sure the head is checked for warp and if necessary skimmed before letting him just put another gasket on, and as an aside does that head need re-torquing after x hours on a new gasket ?
It's not a head gasket but an egr cooler
@@robfinch1522 Honestly, with the double charge, the fighting about who's fault before they've even seen the truck, and wanting the guy to buy parts ALSO before they've even seen the truck, I'd make it REALLY hard for that mechanic to see a dime, or let him touch it again.
What a blessing to that gentleman that he called you, and thanks Aura.
Right like how lucky can a guy that's down getting kicked get definitely a hand up he needed
Time to check out Aura.
Casey, you made one man very happy. When you told the man that Aura was paying for the tow he was in shock. He couldn't believe there was no charge to him and Aura was paying for the tow.
That was a happy customer and a little in shock. We could tell that you were waiting for the perfect time to tell the customer his tow was paid for by Aura.
The customer already seemed to be one nice person in the way he spoke to you. He is the kinda person "You" enjoy telling that his tow bill will covered by Aura. You really enjoyed that and had a big smile on your face.
That tow bill can be shocking! 45 miles rainy night = $9,599+ taxes! That was in NC
Only shameful is that "mechanic" will also avoid having to pay for that tow, because its his faulty work that caused all of this.
@@jamesmeredith381that's a little steep although like most tow companies I charge a little extra if I have to get out of bed and weather has a factor in the bill if it was a semi depending on if the 45 miles is away from my shop or on the way back to my shop affects the price too I charge mileage from my shop to the vehicle the tow and my miles back home unless I get a call in the area that I don't go home then your charge is over and the next guy's charge starts I could really inflate my bills being the only rotator and heavy wrecker within a little over 200 miles of my shop that's kind of how I got talked into buying a guy's trucks when he retired the middle of the Midwest can be lonely and far from anything when you break down
You're a good man Casey. The world needs more people like you.
agreed
I came to say these exact same words.
Took the words right out of my mouth
Throughout my travels I find more people like him than people not willing to help people I've had more people than I can remember drag me to their shop or garage and let me use their tools and a vehicle for parts runs while they're gone at work a place to sleep after a shower and meal and tell me pass it on instead of charging me and the vehicles I drive are antiques sometimes hard to locate parts and the friendly people know all the salvage yards and farmers tree rows to go pull parts at and usually cheaper than I expect and alot of times I find a part of 2 for projects I have in my shop I can snag onto and haul home
That is so cool of you to do this for a fellow trucker, I am sure he appreciates the favor you did for him.
Most car drivers have no idea what good mirror work is. A joy to watch your total awareness of the traffic from all directions.
Thank you Casey. The man was hurting and you and Aura made his day better❤😅
I never realized the Zacklift only took 12 minutes to attach thats amazing. I have seen people take longer loading groceries.
Someone would probably say its at least half an hour, but honestly its just laziness speaking.
Casey and Aura that is great for you to do. I operate a heavy wrecker for a salvage company we only pull our trucks and trailers we have bought. But the owner of the company says if you find someone needing help then do it and no charge. I have winched out stuck school buss, changed tires and towed broke down national guard hummer off the interstate. It’s great to help someone who really needs it.
I drove a tow truck for 20 years I had to retire in 2010 because of health issues
big tow bills in my experience come from greedy owners that don't want repeat customers the trick is knowing when to give a customer a break I usually got myself in trouble doing this like the time I received a CHP call it was 8:30 at night it was raining and when I got out there the vehicle had a flat tire inside the vehicle were for elderly ladies that could have been my grandma on the way home from playing bingo at church now on the CHP call you're looking at that time at about $110 an hour I was not going to charge these elderly women that kind of money so I towed the car off the freeway I changed their tire and sent them on their way I called CHP to let them know that the call was refused so that they put us back on top of rotation there was at the time about 50 companies in rotation I'll make up for it the next call unfortunately one of those ladies called my boss to tell him what an angel I was for helping them out when they needed it the most that got me into a lot of trouble I never was fortunate enough to own my own tow truck but if I did I wouldn't pull half the greedy corrupt crap that I saw in the industry in my years of being an operator
Your type is few and far between!
That was a perfect example of “no good deed goes unpunished” when the boss has his head out of joint. Wanted to end it a bit differently but since I don’t talk like that…
As a retired O/O who has spent a few times waiting for a tow far away from home, and wondering how I'm going to pay for it, this brought a mist to this guy's eye!
We Love your wit, like "since the exhaust is water-cooled."😅
I'll be forever grateful to a tow driver that came and rescued this Ohio guy climbing a hill this side if Bakersfield, CA. He came out in a single axle rig that had the power to pull, but since I was running a medium duty at the time, he couldn't hook into my electric/hydraulic system. (Which every trip after I carried extra cord and connections) He legally should have left my 50ft trailer loaded down before we took the downhill back toward Bakersfield, but he said "screw it, I'm going to take it all real slow." Saved me a chunk of money! I had a towing plan that wouldn't have covered both tows.
Thanks Aura for paying for the tow!!!
As long as you don't have to make a U-turn you are golden. It amazes me how ignorant people get mad when you have to take both lanes to get a rig that long through turns.
It’s so great to see people who help each other. It’s probably a huge relief for him.
Casey, it always amazes me how you are prepared for any situation with the right tools for the job. You carry everything you’ll ever need. That is an art sir.👍
Casey, I remember your hesitation to work with sponsors, for "we the viewers"... you are awesome, and how you further your positive outreach and general good deeds with those sponsorships is inspiring and impressive.
I wonder how many "sponors" are trying to tie him down to something he doesn't want any part of. I think he mentioned it in one of his videos.
Thank you for always being real. No BS with Cassie. Best RUclips channel
Impressive driving as ever, didn't even have to use the round-about brim curb part despite having a train to drive.
Also amazing thanks to aura for letting you have your own digression for when to use them as a sponser and give people free help.
i watched whole thing waiting to watch him back in owners driveway.lol
Nice guy - worthy recipient of a blessing, to compensate his bad luck.
And watching this once again I can say only this: I can’t drive.
it's enjoyable watching someone work without me having to tell them what to do (and having to fix their mistakes when they fail) 😀
I signed up for Aura based on your recommendation and I have NOT been disappointed.
Thank you Casey! I appreciate the extra information you always add, like how that pup trailer works and how you get to pick up Riley today. Glad Aura helped out!
A big shout out to your sponsor *AURA* Thanks for sharing this video. As a former small tow truck driver (mostly cars a few school bus's & 20 box trucks) that is truly quite the setup.
Thanks to Casey and Aura for helping those who need it, when you can!😊❤
Great video Casey and thank you to Aura for sponsoring this video for us to be able to watch
Casey the world would be a much better place, if there were more people like you.
20:23 The number of people who don't realise that this is the best reason for owning a flex-head ratchet amazes me.
It's the only reason I have them .
The best money that you have ever spent is on the Western Star and the Zacklift.
Zacklift commercial again. EVERYONE is impressed by that big red bastard! Such a cool "toy"...... Roundabouts with 110'? heh heh heh Dude, you are a master.
Beings i have been owner op and had a tow in grand forks nd, from santa at christmas. When i didnt have money for a room, so i stayed in my truck near zero, telling that guy really made me shed tears....this made my whole day, i still suffer depression from my trials...thanks to the sponsor and casey...i so much appreciated this today
I love how you blocked the lane people have no respect for trucks always in a hurry 😂😂
It's funny how little ol Casey Ladelle can beat out all the large ad companies with such an amazing advertisement. A youtube masterpiece. Thanks Aura for being champions of this sort of sponsorship. It's not often you see a company with such forward thinking people.
And just think of how good the advertising is for Zacklift!
I was getting excited waiting for the towing bill reveal to the owner. Sure made his day a little less bad!
Very kind of you to help the owner operator out
The advantage of those transfer dump trucks (we called them "California Transfer") is that you have two loads for the price of one trip to a job-site, and can get each load into a tighter spot than you could with a belly dump or a side-dump trailer and tractor. Such as if you're filling in a garage foundation with gravel to be spread and compacted before the concrete floor is poured. I drove one in Durango, CO back in the late 90's. Other advantage is sometimes you don't need the trailer load and you just go in as a single dump truck, such as on a shorter haul (you calculate the benefits and decide when to use your trailer load or not to). We did an asphalt overlay on the highway from Cortez area up to Telluride and it was very handy on that job because we had to dump asphalt into a laydown machine as the crew drove it slowly forward. Takes a little getting use to operating it but soon it's second nature.
I couldn't reverse those things if my life depends on it, end dump or tandem!
@@jasontengan4554 You should try reversing b-trains or like Casey had there. practically an a-train.
Thank you for helping out another owner/operator.❤
The zip tie was to help you feed the air line through a rim 😅
It sounds like someone screwed up on that engine, evidently it's caterpillar powdered and someone didn't verify that the liner protrusion was in spec.
Worst part is that I wouldnt go to fix this truck to the same guy. He had no idea what he was doing.
Pretty cool . Dude genuinely appreciates the help .
Irrespective of how the truck is fighting him, it's always a great day when Casey is on the job!! Watching you tow the train home, and seeing the "tail" that you collected reminded me of when I learnt to tow my boat. The instructor said, you will always be slower than most of the traffic, so a kind thing to do is to pull into a pub car park, (they are usually long, and have easy entrance/exits), and let the "tail" go, it only costs a minute or two but saves so much aggravation. His other tip was go around the roundabout twice, slowly, that also eases the "tail". Went round one 4 times, but it meant there was no-one behind me for the next 3-4 miles!!
Nope, other people are not my problem. I’m driving FAR more weight and size down the road than they are, so they are the ones who can adjust their route if they don’t like it.
Watching Casey navigating those roundabouts made me wonder if taking more than one circle around would have that effect. Thanks for confirming that. I suppose though that in this case with such a long train it wouldn't work.

Under the circumstances I imagine that you really are not that upset that you did not get the winning bid on that truck after all. Too bad for the guy that did hopefully the truck can be repaired both quickly and inexpensively.
All part of the deal with trucks. That’s why we charge so much to run them.
@CaseyLaDelle Yes, it's all part of owning trucks.
The hard part is getting them fixed RIGHT quickly and inexpensively, so that's why I fix them myself now.
Also, you're making it hard to hate Casey LaDelle!! Hope all is well & you have a good one.
I liked the video as soon as you mentioned owner-operator. You are doing a great job! I bet the customer will also pay it forward to someone who needs it.
I always just hit the Like button before I start watching the video. Casey has yet to post one that I didn't genuinely like.
"... the exhaust is currently water cooled" LOLOL Best is that it's said totally casually.
C, by you doing your good deed , so goes the easy u-joint removal ! One hand washes the other, I believe the saying goes.
Casey, you are a very nice person. Always thinking of others.
Love. Paying it down the road. Not a hand out....a hand up. You THE man Casey...!
not every one would do what you did on this video.Thank you Casey.🤩👍👍
Paying it forward. Thanks Aura.
As usual, a Five-star performance, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely love your content Casey! You do so much to help the next person which is awesome!
Love these help-out videos where the assistance is appreciated. I'll bet he will return the favor to you one day when one of your trucks is in trouble.
You really really need to watch yourself, people might start thinking you're good at this.
We can’t be having that..
So now he can use that "tow bill" as leverage. Like, "I had to pay the tow bill, so..."
That's until the mechanic sees this video. =)
@zyamadeadborn1785 Right. I thinking (hoping) they got it resolved before this video came out.
When I went back yesterday to tow it to Peterson one of the pistons and liners were sitting on the passenger floorboard, so I’m guessing the talk with the previous mechanic didn’t go well

You did that guy a solid, fellow truckers know what a financial nightmare it is when your truck blows up, you’re stranded and already forked out thousands to build the truck, let alone pay for a tow bill. Super gracious of you Casey.
Casey, for those of us unaware, what’s the ballpark charge for a tow like this? Curious to know just how much relief it was for him when you told him Aura had him covered. Great video as always! Love how you take care of those who need taking care of and give crap to those who need that too.

Kudos to Aura for sponsoring the video, and my hat's off to you for not just pocketing the sponsorship money like so many others would do. Great outcome Casey, and kudos to Aura for picking up the tab👏👏👏It sounds like that guy may have his hands full getting the repairer to fix the issue, best thing is that he hasn't sent the cheque for the top-end work.

That truck impresses me more and more.
I worked for a couple years at the old Big Y truck stop in Eugene, which was built to army standards, along with the U.S. Highway system, in the 1930's. I worked the midnight shift, mostly servicing trucks. One night I did an oil change and lube job on a truck. When the driver started up the next morning, somehow the truck ate the oil filter gasket. We followed a trail of oil on the road for nearly a mile, to where the driver pulled over with the low oil pressure warning buzzing.
Fortunately for my job, I had been training the tire guy in truck servicing that night, and had a witness that I DID install the filter.
The facts youre doing this for an owner op ill gladly watch the ad! And i also know the pain im an owner op and my motor has to be rebuilt which is something i cant afford right now i hate seeing my pride and joy rusting away but im so thankful youre doing this for an owner op!!
