I love Polyphia, and this is a good song for sure, but I feel like it’s too much about technique (which is definitely impressive af) and not enough about the direction of the song. I have no idea what the song is about, it doesn’t really have any structure, which is fine, but it just feels like notes for the sake of notes. Albeit really tasty notes.
Agreed. You compare them to Dirty Loops who show as much musicianship and creativity, but make much more listenable songs. Love both bands, all depends on the mood.
Absolutely fell in love with Polyphia a few years back & as much as I do enjoy this sound, I hope they don't over do it. I love the vast majority of their music. LIT, Crosty, The Worst, O.D., Yas, 40 Oz., GOAT, Icronic,, James Franco, Finale, Goose, Crush, among many others. I hope this new album doesn't focus too much on jazz & intricacy. The timeless Tim Henson hooks are what made me fall in love with this band & I really hope they don't stray too far from it. GOAT was/is special in it's own way, but I personally don't put this song even in the top 10 Polyphia tracks. It's incredibly intricate & musical, but (for me) it just doesn't have that "wow" factor... Can't wait for this album to drop already! 😫
I'll say it... the drums are always playing the same type of beat, with the skippy jumpy sounds.. most of their tracks have the same exact grooves... as for the guitaring, it's just pure talent/showing off... can't have sex to it, can't dance to it, the the structure always fits every other track they have... Design, is meh, but it's pure talent.. but still, bleh. it's like their good for no reason..
To be honest, these guys are incredibly good at what they do but i kinda get the feeling all their music sounds somewhat the same and it gets a little boring after a while

Actually kinda reminds me of the older neoclassical stuff with the modern twists obviously
Typical spicy Polyphia so damn good Tim and Scottie are truly virtuoso level at this point
Uh!! Whenever I hear someone play guitar like that, it just overwhelms my senses. Absolutely amazing, wish I could play guitar like that, but WE'LL get there eventually. All the *dings* are great, it just really slaps!! 👏😊👍
been listening to this non-stop since it dropped, just incredible to hear
Polyphia is ahead of the game, and I typically think that's a corny thing to say, but it's true.
They're setting bars. They are the game
@@sentientcardboarddumpster7900 shit is wack
@@ThisIsGers so are you
This is exactly what I've been waiting for
"Goodbye the ibanezes"
My brother in christ, those ARE ibanezes.
Ha ha ha. honestly though, nothing terribly crazy going on here, its just a lot of guitar fun. The happiness vibes are off the chart with this one imo.
Ibanie?
The way how he describes them in the first part of this video, is how I'm exactly introducing them to my friends.
They definitely haven't skipped any of their musical classes 😀... Why I had to learn harmonica instead of guitar?
Cant believe i am seeing Aquaman, Drago from How to train your dragons, and an Anime protagonist rocking it out on 1 jam like this
I love Polyphia, and this is a good song for sure, but I feel like it’s too much about technique (which is definitely impressive af) and not enough about the direction of the song. I have no idea what the song is about, it doesn’t really have any structure, which is fine, but it just feels like notes for the sake of notes. Albeit really tasty notes.
“Guitar music for guitar music nerds” lol
Agreed. You compare them to Dirty Loops who show as much musicianship and creativity, but make much more listenable songs.
Love both bands, all depends on the mood.
yeah its the kind of thing i listen to once, think "neat playing" and never come back to.
scotts first part after the initial riff is just tasty as hell
"9 string in dropped Omegle" killed me lol
They're literally gods
dude..Expand your music knowledge. These guys are far from "gods"
Barely mediocre at best
@@MIKEx2112 nice bait
My dad (born 1913) raised me on jazz and he would have loved this. And omg so do I.
Other Guitarists: *EXTREME FOCUS FACE*
Tim at 2:43 : "I can literally do this in my sleep."
Jesus fuck.
To be honest, these guys are incredibly good at what they do but i kinda get the feeling all their music sounds somewhat the same and it gets a little boring after a while
not at all, listen to their last 3 albums and tell me their songs sound the same
@@jetorixjones I listened to 3 songs of them after this and clicked away each song after a minute, to me it's just boring
1:58 onwards really have a bossa nova vibe.
Can we give some props to the drummer? Clay killed this.
hello, fyi these guitar are called flamenco guitars, mainly used for Spanish playing also kinda deprived from the classical guitar used to play old folk songs, these guitar have great tone and I love these guitars a lot as well, this is also why I love the first solo played, its very inspired by Spanish playing
The telecaster body shape works well for acoustic guitars
Yeah the boys are From Dallas Texas!
Gotta catch up to music is win, eh? I love it, you're all phenomenal players and outstanding content producers. Keep it up!
This inspires me rather than discourage me. Then again I suck at guitar and didn't invest years into the art form just to have my self esteem obliterated
The wait was definitely worth it, can't wait for the rest of their new stuff to drop.
Tim is slowly progressing towards showing his final form
Scotty coming through on that early lead. So good.
