I’ve always been a Honda and especially SI fan. I always thought I’d buy an si when buying my first new car but I ended up getting the Elantra Sport 6m. The interior and technology and styling is so much better and no rev hang. I couldn’t be happier for what it is.
Last year, I almost bought the Civic SI. Went to test drive the Elantra with NO intention to buy. I was so impressed that I ended up buy Elantra. 2019 SI had too many of the safety features missing. ex. Lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, emergency braking, and backup cross traffic. I do a lot of cross country driving.
@Der Schwindel my short list was GTI, SI and Elantra sport. Where I live, they didn't have GTI in stock. Between SI and Elantra, Elantra wins hands down for safety. (The closest GTI I could test drive was 700 km). For long drive, I use lane keeping warning as my yard stick. Once warning beeps, it is time to take a break.
Not with the 2020 Si...it has the Honda Suite of safety features that normally don't come with a manual. Automatic cruise on a stick is so rare... plus the LED headlights, limited-slip, and much better stereo. You will be regretting that Hyundai "reliability" after your 4th time to the dealer and when it comes time to sell...

After test driving everything I just bought the 2019 N Line for my Daily, needed the auto so I can switch cars with the wife. I love the car, very easy to live with everyday, 31-32MPG average and wakes right up when you feel like hammering through some turns. The N Line seats are "Just right!". I almost bought the new GLI but was shocked at how many friends that were previous VW owners told me not to buy a VW.
@@keithlynch3086 It's a shame you couldn't fit into the GTI seats, it's the complete package/balance. But I'd advise you do your own research. It makes no sense to label an entire brand because of one bad experience with one specific car. The engine in the GLI is the ea888 engine and has been in development for 15 years, long enough to get every kink out unlike the fresh si and n-line motors that haven't even seen high miles from different owners yet. The GLI powerplant has had no issues and less recalls than the n-line/Veloster turbo(Both the same engine in different cars), the only apparent issue has been coolant reservoir's cracking. The GLI is much faster, and not only has larger brakes but a much more upscale interior that is apart of the higher end VW brand, while offering it at a very similar price.
@@roboticvenom1935 I agree with just about everything you said, but when a car guy who' opinion I respected told me he would never buy another VW I decided to error on the side of caution Looks like the GLI is 0.3 sec faster 0-60 not exactly a game changer. Fact of the matter is, Hyundai (and Kia) have absolutely changed the game with the power/ option to price ratio. I have an ‘18 Elantra sport with the DCT and it’s absolutely fantastic as a daily driver. I really hope more people pay attention to what Korea is doing with their cars. Massive props to Hyundai for making affordable fun cars that make you feel like you actually get everything you want for your money. Oh and they’re reliable!
You guys nailed this review! Having seen the Elantra GT N , the value proposition is truly shocking! The disbelief is overwhelming when you seen the $24K (US) all in price (standard trans), including the leather seats, 18 inch rims, and other extras. $5K is $5K! Now , if we can just get a GLI in the mix, we'd have a a complete picture. Keep rocking
James Engelsman oooh Personal public response... !!! 🤘 “I am Jacks Ultimate excitement.” (Little Fight Club reference there) Obviously it’s all much better since you joined Sir... Don’t tell the ‘other guy’ I said that... .... he can’t see this right?! 😉🤣
Love the conclusion, it's one I come to and why I drive the GTI. There are more intense hatchbacks (Veloster N, etc), but I always go back to the GTI because of it's overall packaging. This Elantra GT is the closest second for me that I've come across; a damn fine job from Hyundai! Great review gents.
I think it’s kinda telling where the general market is headed when this video has so few views. Tragic for ad revenue, but I’m still super grateful that you made this video comparison
What I appreciate about this video is that you're looking past numbers and talking about how the cars drive, how they feel, in the context where most people are driving. I am currently leasing a 2019 Civic Hatchback manual. Are there quicker cars? Of course! Is it likely to understeer heavily if you really push it? Almost certainly. But where I do most of my driving it is an absolute pleasure: nimble, torquey, with a firm but comfortable ride, a satisfying shifter, and and and all around friendly demeanor. I think a lot of people focus on the track and how many seconds to 100 km/h and so on and lose sight of how a car is to live with on a daily basis.
Well stated. I have a 2020 Civic Sport with manual transmission and I totally agree with you. There are just those subtleties of ride and handling in the Civics (plus the great shifter) that are hard to match. Oh, and look at the resale value on a used Hyundai. Ouch!
@@iquattro1167, they really should have given the Si Sedan the same bumper treatment as the more attractive Coupe. I cannot for the life of me understand putting those hideous style pieces on the Si Sedan.
Hows the millage your getting on it? I test drove it and found that when throwing it into 6th at lows speeds greatly reduced the RPMs and might provide better mileage than advertised? or is it just wishful thinking long term?
@@zoommonkey I have about 1500 miles on mine. I'm averaging between 28 and 30 mpg. I also live in a rural area so. Ot a ton of stop and go driving. So in the past month and a half I've owned it, it has exceeded my expectations.
@@gcottdfd475 Thank you VERY MUCH Gregg, Im so glad you confirmed that. That is very good for that type of performance car. I think you made up my mind! Cheers!
It's funny watching this in 2023 to see how far the styling of the Elantra has come in the new generation - and of course, the full N treatment it got ticked the boxes of what it was missing in this form.
Sadly, the Elantra GT-N is not equipped as well in the USA. To get the sunroof (also premium audio, adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, cooled seats, etc) you have to get the "premium package" for an extra four grand, AND Hyundai doesn't make the premium package available with stick. Sigh.
Would you rather: be in the same country as your favorite RUclips channel, or in the same country as the Throttle House? Trick question, they're in the same country. But is it Throttle House or Straight Pipes???? Love your videos guys!!!
As the owner of a 2017 civic sport touring 6mt, I really like these new civics. That being said, after 2 years of owning it, I was getting kinda bored with it... until ktuner. Holy crap, what a difference. The way it drives with the stage 2 tune is night and day. It feels like what the car should feel like from the factory (especially with the rev hang disabled). With a sway bar and a strut bar it now drives very nicely, and I added a short ram intake to help with the sound. I am now loooving the car. Essentially, as good as these new civics are, they need a tune.
buildmorefarms100 is it definitely on the 2019 sport touring hatch? That’s the spec I was looking at and I didn’t see it equipped. Also I’m in the US if that makes a difference.
Dustin Fwiler I’m 18, I fucking hate that shit, I don’t know any 18 year old who does, the fake seems to be for people who want sporty looking car. Aka fake car enthusiast
If they made the type r look like the standard civic hatch (RELATIVELY subdued) I would buy it. But...they won't. Apparently they're planning to slightly subdue the looks, but it wont be enough.
There are many people like me who want the looks of Elantra GT N Line with perofrmance of the Veloster N line. Veloster is too boy racer just like the Civic is.
Si owner here. I agree with you, but we gotta admit..if Hyundai steps up with mpg and add LSD, we now have competition. Civic needs to step up to be in line with GTI rather than hanging with Elantra sport or n line
@@mze7101 Well said. The GTI is not all that and a bag of chips. I ran an 11, 12 GTI in an 07 SI on the highway. He was pulling me till we got to a 95-100. I had an intake on the car. I caught him and passed him. Aerodynamics in design can be just as important as horesepower!
@@keithjackson4985 Early days Si could keep up neck and neck with gti. I feel GTI, with higher price tag, has gotten better where Si has remained a better buy in terms of bang for a buck. I really wish Si adds more goodies even it costs 3 or 4k more.
You guys spoke the truth and the fact of a true manual car 12:30 - 12:46. I just wish and hope in coming models if they are giving us a proper manual performance oriented car then it should have all the bells and whistles of a pure manual car.
Thanks for this comparison! After watching your Mazda 3 v the Civic Sport Touring Hatchback, things are starting to come into focus for me. Manual v Automatic & Hatchback v Sedan are my choices among the four vehicles. I think the Elantra GT N Line is my choice. Why? Because I love hatches & manual transmissions make driving much more engaging imho. The Honda’s are a little dated in their incorporation of tech while the Elantra has more recent innovations such as adaptive cruise control that Honda neglects in manual transmission Civics. The Mazda is a little under-powered and has a huge blind spot with the C/D pillar. Hyundai closes the sale with that massive panoramic ☀️ sunroof and a very competitive price!
I was in a market for a Manual Hatch but where I live, it somewhat remote and small. Just sold my older civic with 140k with Zero issue. My main pros/cons list: Civic SI pro - LSD, adaptive Suspention con - fake vents, no lane keeping, instrument cluster, no blind spot monitoring Civic LX pro - adaptive cruise(stay on when you shift), lane keeping con - rubber steering column, no sunroof, fake vents, instrument cluster Elantra Sport pro - lane keeping, looks great, instrument cluster con - no LSD Elantra GT pro - Moon roof con - No manual I chose Lane keeping and blind spot monitoring over LSD. While price was not deciding factor but I did end up saving 5000 cnd. I will endup spending 1300 upgrading audio setup.
Hatchbacks are the key to taking down the 2 row SUV apocalypse. Hyundai also has a pretty good automatic dual clutch transmission so anybody can drive it. At the end of day, folks who want a bit more flashy, yet modest performance car will choose Honda Civic Si. But if you wanted to make a stop to IKEA or go biking, buy the Hyundai N-Line.
I drove the Elantra GT n-line with dual clutch today, just for fun. It’s a pretty great car! Feels upscale. Tons of room, I’m 6’4”. It handles really well and the chassis is awesome. I’d like a little more oversteer tuned in like a fiesta st has. This feels very planted and solid tossing it aggressively through a few switch backs. Pretty quick! Not what I’d call fast, but definitely quick and fun. Reminded me a lot of the 2009 gti I used to have.
Intermittent wipers not interval 😉💓 you guys are still one of my favorite online reviewers. Crazy funny. N Line is a lot less common here than Si. Sunroof is awesome. And what’s up with James’ hair? Did he wake up late?
My 2000 manual Elantra wagon finally bit the dust. I bought the 2019 N line manual. Doesn't have all the fancy stuff, but it has enough (especially given what I had before). It is the most fun car I've ever owned. It's got the best clutch and shifter I've ever driven (and that includes a Celica and a Civic, albeit older models). If they had only lengthened this 4 inches and made it a wagon, it would be perfect.
I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra Gt Sport with the dual clutch transmission. I quite like the car. It's easy to live with, and fun when you want to enjoy a back road. It could get better fuel mileage, but for the price it's tough to beat. It was alot cheaper than a GTI or a Honda. I would recommend it. Also it seems that there are more and more parts showing up from the aftermarket for these cars. I do wish Hyundai would bring the N to Canada, rather than the N Line. I don't want a Veloster, I don't think it's an attractive car, and with a family a hatchback is a better fit.
I love the Civic headlight and Front Grill but man I hate those fog lights and fake vents. They should've gone with the 16/17 Accord front facelift. I'm rooting for Hyundai tho as a proud Stinger GT owner
The Hyundai Elantra GT N Line is the newer Kia Forte5 Hatchback SX Turbo and roomier Hyundai Veloster Turbo. An Elantra Sport Sedan in Hatchback form, but dealers don’t seem as willing to offer competitive prices and discounts. The Honda Civic Si is still the sharper and beefier car for families that only want to drive stick. But as it is most people are only interested in the Hyundai’s DCT and Honda is missing out on that market by not putting the Acura ILX’s automatic transmission as an option.
Lovely review as always, I actually test drove the Elantra GT and was impressed. I was put off by so many cool features inside - it's that complete. I'd agree it's the best Hyundai in Canada at the moment and best value on the market, better than the Honda. Totally agree about it aiming at and falling short of the GTI. And, I hate the Honda's styling, many Honda owners are annoying, and no hatch so...i bought a 1989 Porsche 944t.
I think the Elantra GT N-Line should go up against the Civic Sport Touring Hatch. That would be a closer comparison. Fully loaded they are around the same price, and about 20 horsepower difference. Im trying to decide between those 2 cars. They come so close with all their features. I like the N-line’s option for a panoramic roof when you add the tech package. Wish Honda would add that to the Civic Sport Touring Hatch. Love your guys reviews. The best out here. Thank you.
I only have my brand new 2020 Elantra GT Nline for 3 weeks and already have issues!! OBD reading as follows : P0301 cylinder 1 misfired , P0123 Throttle position (TP) switch A accelerator pedal position (APP) switch A - high input, P1693 TurboCharge Control Circuit Malfunction ( Immobilizer Transponder) . Will bring to dealership and see how they deal with it.
I am sure there are many like me who feel left out because there is no high performance version of the Elantra GT N Line. Veloster is a bit overstyled for me.
Standard features on Hyundai is enticing, but Honda has huge amount of space inside and is the better performing car, just don't get it with an automatic transmission. Honda second only to Toyota/Lexus in reliability is a plus. Great show guys.
We need the i30 N FASTBACK in North America. If you haven’t seen it, check it out, looks like a baby Audi A5, super nice. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Way nicer than the Elantra sport.
Hyundai has been doing stylized and properly integrated fog lights for years. Why does everyone else always put ugly circle ones that disrupt the flow of the design? Even the 2011 sonata had cool aggressive fog lights
Looking at this video in 2022 from America! Because of the current used car market (still absolutely crazy), I like to know what fun hatches for a lower price are out there and which have the best performance/usability combo... despite that the Honda is my favorite of the two, in 2022 right now, the Hyundai is $5k-$8k cheaper in my area of the US and the Honda isn't 25% better to me. Regardless: both cars are great, Hyundai has come a long way in their performance and interior design quality, but Honda still knows what their doing
Great review. 2019 Elantra GT N-Line / 2018 Elantra GT Sport. The average north American doesn't know what these things are and doesn't want cars or hatch backs. I love small, sporty hatches(fits a bicycle inside). If you look on cars.com or cargurus.com you can find new 2018s for a steal - I did a week ago. Turbo, 201hp, 195 lb ft torque, independent rear suspension, cooled seats, pano. sunroof, auto braking, radar cruise, DCT, leather, bluelink, roadside, android auto, car play. The 2018 has a cleaner exterior with fewer surface styling geegaws and, for me, a softer, more agreeable suspension. I do like the 2019 wheels and the Canada red seat belts(we don't get those in the US). If their had been an unugly civic hatch SI, it would've been a contender.
as a 2017 Si owner i need to publicly disagree with your statement on the Is not having low end torque. i've felt what you are talking about and i think its the stability control doing something. From a stop light mine will roast the tires. With traction control off i can't take off aggressively without spinning the tires. Even with it on there is slippage. Its almost annoying at times. It makes a ton of torque. Its quite the impressive feat for a 1.5 liter. To be clear im not in love with it. Its a great sporty commuter and really good car for the money but i don't actually enjoy driving it. Its good, just not a lot fo fun. At least to me.
I always enjoy your videos, a thought though, there's a quite popular british youtube channel called something like "Auto-Wow" or "Car-Pow" or something like that... but I think the playful competition in their 1/4 mile tests would be a good addition to this channel, especially with the cars in this video. They are close, let's see a drag race between you guys!
This means that the North American market demands a Honda Civic Si Hatchback, Hyundai Elantra i30N, Subaru WRX Hatchback, Toyota Hatchback GRMN, and Mazda Mazda 3 Hatchback Speed.
I got my 2018 Elantra Sport (N Line) for $19k... Civic Si is $26500 and sometimes more. Got a Veloster N instead for $28k and loving it more than the Focus RS and Type Rs I've driven/owned
The lack of a lsd for the Elantra N Line is a deal breaker. No idea why they continue to give us the same stale 1.6L turbo offering with no lsd. One wheel peels are not cool
Hyundai has come a long, long way, but I would take the 10th Gen Civic Si over the Elantra GT N (or any Hyundai for that matter) any day of the week. I am not sure why everyone gets so uptight over rev hang, it's really not that big of a deal and it is a mental block that makes people feel that it gets in the way of shifting, but in actuality it does not. I recently turned rev hang off on my 10th Gen Si using Ktuner, and I actually found that it is more annoying to drive without rev hang as the rpm's would drop way to fast between shifts causing the car to lurch. After two weeks I turned it back on and it does not bother me one bit. Anyway kudos to Hyundai for making better and funner cars. The Veloster N and Elantra GT N are very good starts!
@hector nadal I first want to say that I am not a "Honda guy", but more of a "Toyota guy" (over 25 years of trouble free Toyota ownership) and this is my first Honda. Now that i got that out of the way, Honda's and Toyotas don't offer more than 5 year warranties because...they don't have to. They are built to last, last hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles, and people who buy them know that their cars are not going to break down. Cars like VW and Hyundai have 10 year warranties because...people don't trust they will last. Simple as that. But again, not putting Hyundai down
I have a 2018 Hyundai Kona AWD 1.6T USA, I imported Eibach Pro-Kit springs from the UK I WANTED Sporrt-Kit but they don't make them. Put some Motegi MR133's on it. And I bought the lower trans mount out of this 2019 Elantra GT N-Line to get 50% stiffer to stop the motor shake on shifts. The rear suspension bushings are too soft in the AWD Kona with all the modifying. It is perfect in Minnesota winters at -5 below zero. Oh and I put Elantra GT Sport front seats in because you can't drive a car with Kona seats in it with ZERO hold in. AWD is the way to go guys. My car would kill the 2019 Elantra GT N-line in the corners. I agree with this test, Hyundai needs to make a 1.8T to up the hp/torque in GTI level and stiffen the Elantra GT N-line up another notch. ALSO Hyundai go AWD with it, nothing is better then AWD when you throw your Hyundai hard into a corner. images.customwheeloffset.com/web/712113-1-2018-kona-hyundai-limited-eibach-lowering-springs-motegi-mr133-silver.jpg images.customwheeloffset.com/web/712113-16-2018-kona-hyundai-limited-eibach-lowering-springs-motegi-mr133-silver.jpg .
This generation Civic just looks so bad. Especially the Si and type R. No matter how well they perform, many will never consider one because of the ugly over-styling.
I hated the look and seating position of the SI, plus its now a big car. Bought the NLine and went aftermarket for an exhaust and intake. As a daily its like a GTI Lite but much more reliable. Absolutely love it. It has some refinement and class that are better than the Honda. Call it the N factor.
The nice thing about the new civic si you get the hondata flash and horse power goes up 225hp to 232hp and psi goes to 24psi there’s three settings to be able to use the highest psi seething it requires a aftermarket clutch the psi is around 26 for the highest setting, and you can add rev limiter at idle and for launch control, and you can take off rev hang real nice 👍🏻
I would love to know what is the cruising rpm at highway speeds, at 62/70 mph whatever the limit is in your area. I feel it is an important part of your daily drive.
The styling on the Hyundai is brilliant! (even if VW inspired) Will look fresh & clean for ages, the panel gap is impressive. The civic is so over styled for my eye, way too many creases / stuff going on. Different strokes for different folks, i guess. As charming + fairly thourough as this comparison is, I still don't know which i would choose, many factors involved, test driving necessary. Local availability of seccond hand premium brand models to weigh in on as well; Audi lease return?
@@tommieboi707 very few cars can be considered an investment. Almost every new car is a depreciating asset. Some cars definitely depreciate slower like you mentioned but let's not kid ourselves about considering a type r an investment.

Well the outcome is what most of us expected. Korean cars offer a lot of value for the money, but not quite as good in terms of performance and refinement. Both are kinda fugly, but I've always liked Honda's driving experience and wish there was a hatch version of the SI.
But it's not? It depends what you want. The elantra gt is a better daily with more usable space, and more comfortable. If you want a harsher car, then the si is better. Not to mention the warranties and price differences
@Tyler Wilson 3/4 of what you said is subjective. The Si is as fast, if not faster than the N line. It will also hold its value much better, so it's still a better buy despite the price difference. If speed is what you're concerned with, the Civic has always had one the biggest aftermarkets of any car. I'm not sure why you're bringing the Type R into the discussion, but you can't ignore that it broke the FWD nurburgring record with a comparable lap time to a BMW M car. For a fraction of the price. What Hyundai can say the same? Please do your own research.
@@user-yv1bf4rx7r that's under a complete assumption of planning to sell the car. In 10 years when the hyundai warranty is up, they will both be worth 10k

Until some a$$h@t hit her head on while she was waiting at a stop sign... the good news: the insurance company totaled it and we bought a ‘19 Type R😉(what she originally wanted). I have to admit our surprise and delight at just how good that Si was, especially when the price is considered. I almost enjoyed driving it more than my sons Mark 7 GTI DSG....almost; and it was definitely faster than my FRS in nearly every situation. And yes, i30N PLEASE??!!!
I care about this so much more than the M760i vs. S8 comparison up next. I'll likely never touch either of those hot rodded limos. I'm sure that they are fine cars, but for that money just buy a Porsche, or maybe 3 Civic Sis. It's much harder to make a performance car for $25,000 dollars than $90,000. I have like 5 more reasons.
Hey Guys, Awesome review. How did you find the clutch feel in the Elantra? Was it better than the SI? I heard the SI's have a weak clutch and are prone to slippage. It sucks that if you want cooled seats & upgraded audio, you have to get the DCT Ultimate, in Canada.
They should have just saved all the money they spent developing this car and just shipped the i30n across the pond. Can’t get over the small size and weird doors of the veloster, and buying a Elantra GT n line I just feel like I’m missing out on too much.
So in the U.S. our manual Elantra N-line comes with better tires, but you guys in Canada get the panoramic sunroof 😢. I’d take that over the tires any day. We just picked up one of these yesterday and the lack of that beautiful sunroof is the only letdown.
2 cars that are close to equal in lbs/hp *cost (which you want to be lower) but the Hyundai Veloster Turbo R Spec is better than both in this regard. Also the Ford Fiesta ST dominates in this metric under 23K.
I currently drive a 20y/o i30 here in Korea. It's the base version, so nothing special, but still a ton of fun. The intro got me cracking real good. You guys are the best reviewers ever. I love you guys
Proud owner of a 2014 Kia Cadenza SXL, I'll never buy anything but Kia ever again.

What about the mass stalling issues of the 2019 gti 6 speed?
@@EulogizingSleep does anyone know if that was resolved?
I think it’s kinda telling where the general market is headed when this video has so few views. Tragic for ad revenue, but I’m still super grateful that you made this video comparison
I always favor Hondas all this time, but now it would have to be the Elantra
Ouch!
Ugh the fake vents on the back of the Civic Si sedan absolutely ruin the car for me.
@@iquattro1167, they really should have given the Si Sedan the same bumper treatment as the more attractive Coupe. I cannot for the life of me understand putting those hideous style pieces on the Si Sedan.
I personally just bought the 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT n line, and I absolutely love it. In my opinion, much better than the SI has to offer.
Same.
I just bought the Nline as well and I agree.
Sigh.
That's a bummer.

historymjh if only you had that option with the manual. Would’ve been the only hatch with a pano roof and manual available.

Manual cars sell better in Canada compared to the US.
This may be my favorite intro yet! Also I actually really like the “usb” center exhaust and wish it came on the non-Si civics. Fight me.
It comes on the Civic sport also for 2019
buildmorefarms100 is it definitely on the 2019 sport touring hatch? That’s the spec I was looking at and I didn’t see it equipped. Also I’m in the US if that makes a difference.

3 years on its so frustrating to see the SI be practically unchanged but now at a sticker $4,000 higher, market is so fucked
20 years ago,I'd have picked the civic. Now that I'm 42 years old,the Elantra perks my attention more.
Do your research the beta 1.6 t is being recalled for engine fire not to mention residual value
Yea I would think in your older age the civic would spark your interest more with how it holds it's value over the years?

Honda- please make a Civic without all the stupid 18yr old plastic vents for the rest of the population. Thanks.
I am so hoping for a refresh of the rear fascia of the Si Sedan this next year losing those ugly fake vents.
A functioning infotainment system would be nice too.
Dustin Fwiler the Hyundai has fake vents too
There are many people like me who want the looks of Elantra GT N Line with perofrmance of the Veloster N line. Veloster is too boy racer just like the Civic is.
Not to mention some of us need that fourth door!
Too bad the i30 N isn’t available to you. It is exactly what you are after
Yep. Folded and took the gt sport. No regrets actually after 25000 kms!
Another versus with Civic si. Love it!!
For me it's Si all day, though the Elantra GT N Line is awesome in its own right. Now Honda need to respond with a Hatchback Si
No they don't. Lol. I love their, this is a car take on Civic production.
I'd prefer an Si Hatchback that has Veloster's proportions. Current is too porky (not to disc the awesomeness of your Type-R).
Most of the tech in the Elantra is only available in the tech trim with the dct
That's why the GTI it's clearly the best but here..
I was in a market for a Manual Hatch but where I live, it somewhat remote and small. Just sold my older civic with 140k with Zero issue.
My main pros/cons list:
Civic SI
pro - LSD, adaptive Suspention
con - fake vents, no lane keeping, instrument cluster, no blind spot monitoring
Civic LX
pro - adaptive cruise(stay on when you shift), lane keeping
con - rubber steering column, no sunroof, fake vents, instrument cluster
Elantra Sport
pro - lane keeping, looks great, instrument cluster
con - no LSD
Elantra GT
pro - Moon roof
con - No manual
I chose Lane keeping and blind spot monitoring over LSD.
Matt your oversteer in the 2019 Elantra Gt N-Line is just a $70 rear alignment away by adding more toe out to the rear.
I don’t know who does the writing for your show but the jokes and way the show flows is VERY HIGH QUALITY

They answer the important questions... Thanks guys!
Lol this story has the best ending imo
I think the Elantra GT N-Line should go up against the Civic Sport Touring Hatch. That would be a closer comparison. Fully loaded they are around the same price, and about 20 horsepower difference. Im trying to decide between those 2 cars. They come so close with all their features. I like the N-line’s option for a panoramic roof when you add the tech package. Wish Honda would add that to the Civic Sport Touring Hatch. Love your guys reviews. The best out here. Thank you.
You guys have the best intro on every of your video! Good job
You guys have to review the civic si 2020!
You're getting better every day.
How about a Forte GT review?! I just picked one up and love it!
Intro is savage, dissing both the commenting community and Hyundai N.
Jokessss we love you guys. But like, i30 N please.
We need the i30 N FASTBACK in North America. If you haven’t seen it, check it out, looks like a baby Audi A5, super nice. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Way nicer than the Elantra sport.
I driven the si before it's a great car and this is coming from a type r owner
TAKE THEM TO THE TRACK!!!!
Hyundai has been doing stylized and properly integrated fog lights for years. Why does everyone else always put ugly circle ones that disrupt the flow of the design? Even the 2011 sonata had cool aggressive fog lights
If the gt nline is anything like the veloster turbo then it also has about half a minute of overboost that bumps it up to 210hp.
What would you prefer to have instead if you could spend up to $35k?
I always enjoy your videos, a thought though, there's a quite popular british youtube channel called something like "Auto-Wow" or "Car-Pow" or something like that... but I think the playful competition in their 1/4 mile tests would be a good addition to this channel, especially with the cars in this video. They are close, let's see a drag race between you guys!
Finding a place to easily and legally drag race is difficult. That said. Stay tuned 😉
But again, not putting Hyundai down
What the different between civic type r and civic si ?
Every car with more than 160 lbft of torque should come with a limited slip diff.
ALSO Hyundai go AWD with it, nothing is better then AWD when you throw your Hyundai hard into a corner. images.customwheeloffset.com/web/712113-1-2018-kona-hyundai-limited-eibach-lowering-springs-motegi-mr133-silver.jpg

SI is more tunable with a huge tuning community behind it. Theres SIs running 10s at the quarter mile which is impressive considering the tiny motor.
I would love to know what is the cruising rpm at highway speeds, at 62/70 mph whatever the limit is in your area. I feel it is an important part of your daily drive.
The styling on the Hyundai is brilliant! (even if VW inspired)

Very annoying that that Honda doesn’t offer a hatchback Si. Not everyone wants to pay an extra $10k+ for a type R.
Type r will be a better investment in the long run. It will hold value whereas the si will drop dramatically.
@@tommieboi707 very few cars can be considered an investment. Almost every new car is a depreciating asset. Some cars definitely depreciate slower like you mentioned but let's not kid ourselves about considering a type r an investment.

Great video as always, please do a GLI vs SI, by the way, SI for me
Everybody just bashes the Civic's looks and completely ignores the fact that it's the objectively better car.

The Si is a seriously surprising car. I bought my wife a new 2018 and LOVED it!

I'm sure the hyundai isnt a bad car but i cant get behind how it looks mazda3 in the front and golf in the back
I wish yall could get your hands on an abarth 500 :/ but i sure do love seeing hyundai going head to head with everyone!
The I30N would be in-house competition with the Veloster N. That's a bad move in the US, who tends to lean more towards crossovers and SUVs
Why does the Elantra have a DCT option? What’s wrong with a regular automatic I feel like if one of those breaks it’ll total the car.
Hey Guys,
Awesome review. How did you find the clutch feel in the Elantra? Was it better than the SI? I heard the SI's have a weak clutch and are prone to slippage.
It sucks that if you want cooled seats & upgraded audio, you have to get the DCT Ultimate, in Canada.
I’ve always thought that the si had a bad clutch. Elantra feel is better
Looking seriously at getting a used (2019-ish) GT S or N-Line when I get back to the US this summer.
