  • The Peak District is one of the best places to live and explore in the UK, but where within the Peak District National park is the best place to live?
    Not far from Buxton, for more than 4000 Years people have chosen to settle in and around, what is now, the village of Chelmorton. From early Neolithic settlers to the Romans, Medieval farmers straight to modern day residents, the corner of the Peak district is a prime place to live. On the limestone plateau, history doesn't lie.
    Not only is it a great place to liven, proven by history, it has been a key chosen place for people to die. The key example of this from history is the Neolithic chambered tomb - 5 Wells up on the limestone plateau.
    Come on this journey to Chelmorton within the beautiful landscape within the Peak District national park to see all the elements that made this a key place for life to thrive for millennia.

    Thank you all for clicking on to watch. If there is somewhere you think that I should add to my list of places to visit and make a video about, be sure to let me know in the comments. As always, any likes, comments and new subcriptions are greatly appreciated.

    Great video again, very interesting place, never been to Chelmorton. Lovely views with the drone up, helps to see the area more clearly. 👍

      It's a beautiful village and a really nice place to use as a start point to explore the surrounding countryside. It was somewhere we were considering when buying but property just doesn't seem to come up very often.
      Thank you for your kind words, the drone really did come into play when I was out filming this one.
      I hope you have had a great weekend.

      Thank you so much ☺️ I’m really happy with how this one all came together. Glad you enjoyed it, hopefully you can add it to your list of places to visit in the Peak (if you haven’t been here already) I didn’t put anything about it in the video but the pub in Chelmorton (the church) is also good and does good food

    Another brilliantly made film Harrison, I never realised there were so many interesting facts around Chelmorton! I was especially fascinated to learn about the church bells from Ladybower. As for Illy Willy, well that's gonna stick in my mind now! 😂 Great stuff, thanks for sharing all this with us. All the best 👍

      Thanks Patrick. It’s a fascinating little village. Inside the church (when it’s open) there is also a small section with lots of local history and information, almost like a small museum. I hadn’t intended to include this in the video but I didn’t end up filming the bits I needed so it was cut. Hope you are well on the mend now

    I saw that England sign for the first time today, driven past it at least 50 times and not noticed it 😂

    • @ThomTopics
      @ThomTopics  28 дней назад +1

      It's not as visible as it was once, it has had stones added to it a few times in the past to make it more visible again, perhaps it will have that happen again this year with the Euros.

    Ive seen the England sign a few times now. Good drone shots, what you flying? I crashed mine in Lathkill Dale a few weeks back 😢

    • @ThomTopics
      @ThomTopics  28 дней назад

      Thank you 👍 its such good fun to fly and for stuff like this it really does add something. I have the mini 4 pro. I have wanted a drone for years so when this latest model came out I thought I was time to treat myself.
      Oh no, nightmare, about your drone what did you crash into?

    • @brewswithviews
      @brewswithviews 28 дней назад

      @ThomTopics Mine 4 Pro....wow, nice. I had the Mini, I wanted get a shot flying out of the cave following the river, however I pressed the wrong direction, hit the wall and into the river

    • @ThomTopics
      @ThomTopics  28 дней назад

      @@brewswithviews 😲 oh no, I take it the drone was a write off? One of the great things on the mini 4 pro is how many sensors it has on it, so as long as you dont put it in to sport mode is would be pretty hard to make it crash

    • @brewswithviews
      @brewswithviews 28 дней назад +1

      @ThomTopics yea, couldnt even get it back. All the reason to buy another more upgraded one

    • @ThomTopics
      @ThomTopics  28 дней назад

      @@brewswithviews silver linings and all that 🤷‍♂️ you should treat yourself to the mini4 pro (those extra sensors might come in handy 😂)
