I swear ES is so much fun to play, his skills can be very rewarding or very punishing. No in between, so it makes you play better! Definitely will remain my fav hero in Dota
Been playing only es last few years. It's stupid how hard it is for play, but for same reason its most rewarding when you do the things right. Not to mention es is mana hogish and that spells are not precise. But, at the other hand, es spells make him versatile, so depending on other heroes he can be tank, or magic dps or disabler
earth spirit for me feels like oracle suck during the first 10 minute mark but freaking GOD in team fight ....totally agree with you...its suck to play ES if yr mid and offlaner are weak and passive laner

The problem with that is that you will not have much impact on lanes as earth spirit LMAO lanes are always mega shacky. The only lanes I do win or stomp with ES are lanes with idk viper, dp, bat. But its not about the earthspirit then its rather because of the pos 3 hero ^^ I just tryed to show that it doesnt matter how much you actually feed as es on the lane you can still win :D
I've been very hesitant to get urn cause the item seems hot garbage. Easily dispell, shit damage, pavise has way better stats. I've opted for Veil 9/10 times i only go urn vessel if the enemy has some high regen core, morph, timber etc
I brought this up cause i see it on EVERY guide for earth spirit and frankly it feels more niche to me. Curious how often you think it's worth, is it is default item for you and you adjust from there?
Hm for me it's urn 100% vs heroes like morph timber... Otherwise it's like a 50 50 depends how the lane goes. And whenever I play vs abbadon or oracle I don't even think about urn
I wanted to try playing ES pos2 after seeing his performance at TI. Very informative guide! From another guide I got the tip that you should place your remnants around the general area if you know you will stay there for an extended time. What do you think about this? I don't really see the reason why as you can always place the remnants whenever you need them and running out of remnants in a fight (because you placed several) feels very bad.
you mentioned earth spirit in the core position as a mid and i'll have to try it out but i've been having a pretty good time with him as a 3. have you tried it and if so any opinions on it or reservations about it?
ES midlane is REALLY strong if you know how to control aggro. Try to get the creeps on your high ground, once they're there, if the enemy tries to cs, roll onto them and kick them under tower then use blood grenade/orb to slow them and get a kill. Later on u can roll, kick under tower, and roll again. Geo grip is usually not that important for mid and I personally just max QW. Unless you're against a puck or a morph or something, in those cases focus on E for silence duration and balance Q and W. For example 2-2-4-1, OR you can max QE and keep roll at level 1 if you're sure you can kill enemies in one roll, but it's not good for ganks.
Oh may I ask a question? Just wondering how do you cancel while rolling I can only cancel from the 0.6Sec Delay rolling. But I would like to roll half way and stop? Cheers if you reply. Thanks dude

what do you feel about earth spirit pos 5? Easier to push enemy to tower, easier to run enemy down the lane (compared to pos 4), nearer to twin gates to do a gank, good mobility to save/join carry in lane while stacking/pulling camp
Ngl i was thinking this at my bracket because the one thing es has is kick under tower but it's so hard to do it on offlane. Plus majority of safe laners these days are ranged or at least very strong laners which pair well with es, and they're often better junglers. This is definitely something i think 5up isn't considering
I do consider it but what would you rather have, a strong lane with undying, lich or a weak lane with earth spirit :D there are just way tooooo many pos 5 heroes that are way better then ES
His shard is still so underwhelming 1400 at 16 mins just to have a kinda reliable save is just meh . Don't forget that it wastes your DMG and the silence of your ability.
idm you need rolling bolder level 1 imo if you are roaming thats why you are dying early game, plus you should go 1 1 1 because your utility is the best

One thing that’s really important is you needs to try to aim skipping boots on es. If you have octarine you can traverse map with just roll.

Loved the guide but you forgot to discuss new shard which is OP in my opinion.
It is not bad but whenever I play earth I do not have the gold to buy the shard :D atleast as a POS 4

@@5updota buying shard is unnecessary but getting from tormentor gives you saving potential. I have saved so many of my cores extending on enemy HG
