About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Fantastic script writing and execution! How these talented actors can remember their lines and deliver them with such precision and emotion in front of a live audience is remarkable. 😂
I’m sure there were outtakes, or bloopers, but I agree that their execution was amazing.
They rehearsed it, of course.
How do you think a play is done ?
@@sha11235 But do they just turn off their brains and say the lines from memory so they don't get confused?
@@DJ-bj8kuProbably not. They had a very strict rule that everyone would rehearse and rehearse till they had down pat and they taped everything in real time as though it were live theater. You have to remember these actors all got their start in live theater so doing a show in front of an audience where mistakes are not tolerated and if a mistake is made you do your best to make sure the audience doesn’t see it was nothing new to these fine actors.
"We're gonna start this whole TRANSFACTION over!!!!" Priceless Archieism!
That was awesome 😂😂😂😂
I laughed at this one 50 years ago and still one of my favorites.
Timeless brilliance. No other show from this era of television even comes close to holding up like this. Maybe Twilight Zone from years before this.
I did as well. So funny
want a cookie
Pretty funny my 1st time seeing it
It’s hilarious how Mike keeps taking the money out of Archie’s hand! 😂😂😂
Liberal logic screws the working man-everytime!
He was talking money out of his hands for 5 years
@@ef7558 Mike's also leagues more intelligent than Archie, lol. 😂
@@EVIL-C Yeah well look at what happened in the end. Mike was in a hippie commune and Archie ran his own business.
Mike is such a self righteous guy, he doesn't mind giving away someone else's money... It would be a differrent story if it were his..
LOL this scene is a comedy masterpiece. So well written and performed.
show is a masterpiece
I have to say that was hilarious ! Archie was SO confused , George just kept taking the money and Archie ended up with nothing ! The look on his face everytime the money was taken ! And he thought Gloria was going to help him too funny !
DON'T NOBODY MOVE! NOW WE'RE GONNA START THIS WHOLE TRANSFACTION OVER AGAIN! 😂😂😂😂
I bet playing Monopoly with Archie would be difficult to say the least
George all right it all started when you gave me this phony 20 now you got it back bye 😆
This show is comedy gold. I loved this show as a kid. I like that Archie changed as the show kept going. Really funny show.
I liked the show years ago. However, the show is making fun of Archie/working class white men/ stereotypes of them. M arr
You can’t forget who he copied this kind os scene off of is Jackie Gleason
I swear this was so funny. Archie was so confused.
Right, that's the best part.
He was never $22 ahead. What a meathead. How does Archie trust it was him? The business owner should have turned the bill into police. It’s the cost of doing business. Buy the pen that discovers if it’s real or not. I would have never sent dry cleaning to that store again. But really what would they have needed to send to dry cleaning? He worked in a loading dock.
@@kristinesharp6286 Yeah and then Archie probably would've been arrested for fraud
@@ef7558 the owner would have had to prove the $20 was Archie’s. The discovery was allegedly made after he left the shop. It’s a business. They have many in and out and this was before a small business would have had video. Even still the $20 could have gotten there over a number of hours.
I was confused LOL!!!!
You can tell Sherman Hemsley is trying not to crack up. One of my favorite moments in the show.
"I bought seven cigars and a malted, is that all right with you?!"
And for only $3 😅
Archie’s face at 1:05 is perfect. Brilliant writing. Jefferson always has such a sour look on his face.
Indeed. lol
4:26. Archie losing it never fails to crack me up.
It's always funny when it happens to someone else!
Waaaaait a minute!
Mike is good at forgetting he owes money. The pizza, the ball game tickets. When he is reminded he acts all surprised and says "That's right." Archie has to borrow money to pay the plumber, and Gloria is was quick to ask for it back She never thought about helping with the bills.
It's a financial comedy scene in a TV show, they don't write money comedy scenes a lot anymore, people got too dumb nowadays.
Archie was the one that brought up the pizza. If he can bring debts irrelevant to the situation why can't Gloria? Lol
@@yumikumi2 Today everyone thinks Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Kevin Hart, Kevin James and Will Ferrell are comedic actors. My have times and tastes changed.
Archie was literally supporting those 2 for years and they want to squabble over dollars.
4:29 kills me everytime 🤣
Me too🤣🤣🤣
@@johanbrand8601 US TOO! :P! "Now don't nobody MOVE! We're gonna start this WHOLE 'transfraction' over!" :P!!!!! I was about eight when this aired and remember laughing like crazy at this with my parents!!!! Kim & Larry
Nobody can say more with just the slightest facial expressions than Carroll O'Conner..
He was severely underrated actor..
I agree😊
When was he EVER considered underrated? 😂😂
@@iscariot666
I don't recall hearing his name mentioned in the same arena as Charlton Heston, Gregory Peck, Humphrey Bogart did you?
I didn't think so..
@@RSTI191 Your weak attempt to justify your ridiculous assertion is telling. Actually, I do recall hearing his name mentioned with those names. See how easy it is to refute your ridiculous rebuttal?
@@iscariot666
I owe you an apology.
I can tell by all the videos you have posted of your talents, expertise, worldly experience and knowledge you truly are a man to be reckoned with.
We should bow to you and hold you in reverence.
This is how you spend your time?
Responding to comments left by others?
Sounds exciting.
Was a college degree a prerequisite for this life?
People with less talent will always try to make a name for themselves by criticizing other people..got that chump?
This is the "Who's On First All In The Family." (Also, Abbott and Costello had a math sketch that simply runs right through.)
BRILLIANT!
It’s the 13x7=28 skit !!
They don't do it like this no more 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
This has always been my favorite sketch. I still laugh out loud every time I see it 🤣
Every time Meathead snatches a bill from Archie's hand, Archie's face.
How is everybody paid off? I was holding thirty five dollars now I’m standing here holding nothing..nobody move. We are starting this whole transfaction over..right from the beginning 😂😂
I love seeing these old clips from a time when TV was actually funny and well written.
“Now DON’T NOBODY MOVE!”
An electric scene so good. God nothing today compares. They are all so talented.
This is an absolute masterpiece, and I never ever get tired of watching it.
Sometimes I can follow the money trail, and other times I'm more confused than Archie and want to "stsrt this whole transfaction over"! 😊
One thing that is forgotten is that the 20 dollars George finds in Archie's coat is the 20 dollars Archie gave Edith earlier. He asked for that back just as George came in with the news about the 20.
@sha11235 Yep, Archie started out with $40 and ended up with less than nothing in the counterfeit $20! 😊
Archie was never $22 ahead. What a meathead! I am sorry this was not the way for a business owner to handle it. Invest in the pen that could reveal a real bill from fake.
I luv George & Louise
Nobody ever thinks of comedy shows as doing a cover of another comedy show, but this was clearly the greatest cover of Abbott and Costello bit of two 10s for a 5. And it was done brilliantly.
When I reported to Navy Boot Camp (1983), one of the company commanders looked and talked like George Jefferson. It was hard for me to keep a straight face at times. That sucked.
I love the look on Ediths face while all this was going on.
The dingbat would still be trying to figure out the first transaction at the end.
About and Costello couldn't do it any better!!!!
They are the original masters.
I just noticed the connection, and posted the same idea. Though I spelled Bud’s last name a little differently. 😉
That's pre war nobody cares, maybe Popeye lol
@TerryCloth 85 lol I was 20
@@m42037I was 25
Listening to this made me doubt all the math I was taught in grade school . I'm amazed everyone involved was able to recite their math portion regardless how many takes done lol
4:54: LOOK at Isabel Sanford, trying not to bust out laughing! I never noticed her before because we are all looking at Archie SO funny!
"HOW IS EVERYBODY PAID OFF?!?!?!" 😂😅😂 Never get tired of this clip!
Excellent Excellent Excellent. Genius writing. Wonderful Archie.
How the hell can Archie ever owe Mike and Gloria anything, ever?
By saying he'd pay them back?
Or Gloria, namely
They are living rent free in his house including free food. The owed the Bunkers big time.
@@lilajagears8317wrong! they made an agreement where Mike would eventually pay back everything with interest after Mike graduates college & starts working.
"Pay the 20 dollars"...one of the best episodes.
This scene is incredible! 😂
crazy to think that the $35 bucks Archie started with ( in 1971 ) is worth roughly $230 bucks in 2023
This was 1974
NOT in Biden's rotten economy-- it is worth $35 bucks! TRUMP 2024 to SAVE US AND OUR COUNTRY!
This is why I flunked mathematics 😂
I *love* their friendship! ❤😊
" Who pays ME for da phony $20 bill I got dere?!? JOHN FRANCIS KENNEDY I AIN'T!!!" Loved this sequence!
Timeless!
Funny how Meathead conveniently “forgot” to pay Archie for the pizza and Lionel for the baseball tickets.
😂😂😂 yooo wtf I’m a 90s baby always heard people talk about how legendary this guy is but all jokes aside the vids I’ve watched have me dying laughing
I say Meathead does not get the credit he deserves. Great guy! 😂
Worst character on the show . . .
A freeloader that never paid for anything because he never worked. His father and law supported him and his wife financially and with a roof over their heads and food. Then he got his big job that he never would have gotten without support, then he left his wife and son. He's an ungrateful, entitled deadbeat and loser. Archie should have gave him the boots from the start.
This scene.... may be the best thing about the 70's
TRUE comedy...😂😂😂😂😂
This is genius! 😂 I love this scene! 😂
perfectly executed by all the actors.
'...now don't nobody move!! cuz we're going to start this entire transfaction over! and we're gonna do it slow! right from the very beginning!!' LMAO
best show of the 70's and beyond
“All right. It all started when you gave me this phony $20. Now you got it back. Bye!”
Abbott and Costello made a routine about money. Funniest thing I ever heard. They were geniuses.
Yes ,it was the Two tens for a five routine. 😂
I'm binge watching All in the Family this week and I just watched this episode today. It is hysterical!! I rewound it a couple of times during this scene....it's brilliant. I love this show so much. Iconic in so many ways.
This scene was based on an old vaudeville routine that was previously showed up in an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show as part of a scene where Buddy, Sally, and Dick where trying out an idea for a skit for the fictional Alan Brady Show of which they are head writers for. The All In the Family version flesh it out fully and is the funnier version.
And Abbott & Costello did a similar routine way before Dick Van Dyke.
That George Jefferson knew how to handle Arch.
One of my favorite scenes from All In The Family!!! 😂🤣
It's comedy gold!!! 👍
Comedy gold. Archie's reaction in this one is hilarious. 😂😂
This one was priceless when Archie blows his top hahaha 🤣 even all these years later it's still one of the best episodes
Classic. An absolute classic.
"Give me the 5 dollars" (snatch!) Archie's face!
Archie was always so easily sucked in and persuaded. 😅
4:53 Isabel Sanford, not Louise Jefferson, is trying to not laugh
This is comedic excellence. 🤣🤣🤣
I’m wheeze-gag-laughing over here with my cold, watching this! 😂😂
Archie saying"WAIITT AHH MINUTE"🤣🤣🤣🤣
"SOMEBODY GIVE ME SOMETHING!!!"
A rare smile from Mr. Jefferson at 4:26!
Rob Reiner is top comedic form here, makes it hard to believe he directed one of my favorite horror movies - Misery
"Now don't nobody MOVE!!!"
Meathead sure knew how to get under Archies skin....😂😂😂😂😂
Transfaction!!!! I love it….absolutely hilarious.
‘Yea, that ain’t right, little goil, help me here!’ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That ain’t no help..😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Long gone are the days of $ 5.00 pizza or $10.00 for the plumber.
Where I'm from, almost every plumber charges $150 just to pull into your driveway.
Minimum wage back then was $1.75
Pure comedy gold.
This is great. With that said George Jefferson giving Archie back $20 he found in Archie's coat doesn't put Archie ahead. It's money Archie already had technically.
Archie's out the full amount but with the 10 Archie initially gave him they would have been out the same amount.
And Archie was not up on the $2 cleaning and $18 change since he got tipped the fake $20 in the first place. Reality is Archie was solvent when Geoege returned the $20. Louise and Edith had merely conspired to calm down George, mend the relationship between the Bunkers and the Jeffersons, and divide the loss equally between the two families.
And Meathead went and earned his nickname to consolidate the entire loss on Archie.
The math goes wrong quickly in this transaction.
That steady face from George though 😂 Love it!
This is the funniest scene in the entire series!!! Everybody is just going back and forth paying what they owe.
"I had $35 in my hand, I'm standing here holding nothin'!😂😂
The most amazing thing is Mike and Gloria got a whole pizza for 5 bucks.
Those were the days.
Was the pizza from Pizza King?
The writing, acting and comedic timing here is off the charts.
"Now, don't nobody move!!!!" LOL!!!
Oh my goodness, still my favorite scene.
I like on Meathead has to ask Gloria even for $5 he don't even have $5 in his pocket
What can you expect from a Liberal like Mike? Too much of a wuss to go out and get a part-time job to help bring a little extra income into the house. Most college students do that nowadays, so why couldn't meathead?
She worked he did not. Why didn’t they wait to marry until they could support themselves? Only to attack the guy at the dining room table every night. Such boomers. The world is wrong and they are just the generation to change everything. Mike could steal phone calls. It’s on the company. But this is Archie. So not on the business. Maybe the $20 was Archie’s and maybe not. Invest in the pen to detect fakes. What awful business practice. You turn the bill over to cops you do not try to go after the person who passed it. They should have lost a customer. Why would a guy working in the loading dock have things to go to the dry cleaners so regularly? I do miss this time. People could live in the same house and vote differently, think differently, argue about it all the time and still be family.
Really great seeing this show again! Love it!
I can't stop laughing. All In The Family is the best show that was ever on television.
The comedic timing here from every actor is perfect.
I wonder how many bloopers there was during this scene I couldn’t keep a straight face
"Nobody Move!!" LOL, priceless.
2024 Still fun to watch 😂😅
Good old show, just as funny as it was back in the day!!!
Fuzzy math😂
It's another one of my favorite episodes. Nobody moves
1:19 :P !!!! SO HYSTERICAL! :P!
Yes. One of my favorite parts too. Archie caught himself being humble for a second and then snapped at Mike when he realized the meat head was educating him.
My favourite part...Im dying here🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
PURE COMEDY GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what real acting is here … you can’t duplicate this
Notice how loose the Meathead was with everybody's money
Priceless. One of the show’s very best scripts, along with the one-sock-one-shoe and the “shoe-bootie” scripts. The Edith’s death script came later, on Archie Bunker’s Place.
One of our favorites including my late father's and mother's! :P! Kim & Larry!
You Scream I Scream We all Scream 4 PPC!!!
One of funniest scenes ever!!❤❤❤
