    This is like toddlers interacting. Ultimately they will grow up with time and training.

    It would be amazing if you would be able to get that new text to speech voice that also has emotion in its voice and sounds much much more human. Of course this is still in alpha. But that would make a huge difference in immersion i think. Otherwise looks very promising and i am interested to see what kind of world they would live in and what items they have access to. I hope it is more than just a small plot of farm land. I wish you all the best on this project!

      Thank you! Better sound models are one of the things on our radar. I am sure this will be possible.

    This would be a great achievement if it was made 10 years ago. Now this is a tech demo any game dev student could put together in a few weeks using the tools available.

    I think I once saw a video about something similar, and have always wondered why this didn't exist as an actual game/sandbox yet.
    Very interesting, although I would have loved to see a more complicated world(like a voxel world) and more complicated interactions with that world(e.g. complicated world changes without explicitly informing the characters, so they have to "figure out" some of the emergent properties of this more complicated world, and require long-term learning. Seeing as this is from the makers of Space Engineers(one of my favorite games!) I have high hopes! In the long term I think a lot of games can be made way more alive by even simple AI agents, but games like Space Engineers or Minecraft could be taken to a whole different level(Think of your in-game AI friend who can play 24/7, using the machines you created for them)! I'd really love to see how AI agents would interact with very large and complicated worlds, but I get that that is probably very difficult.

      Thank you. AI NPCs and AI Director are in my opinion the only way how to add generative narrative to open-ended sandbox games like Space Engineers or Minecraft, where a predefined story isn't possible (player can always diverge from the predefined plot)

    The character behavior (like how they walk to place to do task) kinda reminds me of messing around with goap AI systems.
    Like are they using an llm to run something like a goal oriented action planner that defines the available actions and what steps are needed to do them?
    I'm guessing the longer presentation might go into this sorta stuff...

    • @MrMarekRosa
      @MrMarekRosa 9 месяцев назад

      The early version of AI People were using GOAP. LLM provided only the end-state and the GOAP planned the actions to achieve it.
      But the recent version is fully LLM driven. LLM makes the plans. This way it's more flexible and agents can learn.

    OK, cool, but it is running an LLM. So, after we buy this, how much per month are we going to have to pay for tokens? Are we responsible for sourcing our own? Can we locally host our own with something like Kobold? You guys need to be very upfront about this as most of your audience probably isnt familiar with the ins and outs of this tech.

    • @ker6349
      @ker6349 8 месяцев назад

      Im assuming they're either hosting their own or running a small local model, but the ability to source language models would be interesting

    Surely theres lot of potential for IT NPC's, can see how far the Skyrim mods allready have skyrocketed.
    But will look forward to real implementations of the technology.

    I really hope it will be possible to use a local model or like your own api keys. I hope this is not some propritary model or fjnetune you would have to pay a subscription or tokens for

    I hope you let this technologiy for rent for a couple of billion to Microsoft for World of Warcraft 2 in the latest Unreal engine. I wonder if server meshing can handle thousands of NPC and if they would form new alliances, start wars, build settlements. Just imagin this in no man's sky.

    I still think a Skyrim mod was a better starting point for this tech than Sims.
    The "AI Director" sounds very intriguing though. If it is what I think it is (an AI game master) and it is able to enforce the game rules written in natural language, it would be huge!

      rimworld uses an AI story teller that is basically this, when your doing well it sends more problems, when your getting crushed it will sometime ease up on you. its a great system imho

    This is terrible, and a slap in the face of customers who asked for these features in space engineers. So this is why SE is crap. You know the problem? I can't convince any one to play space engineers because there is nothing to do, so i make creations and have no one to share them with because no one wants to play the game. Wow just so disappointing after ten + years of waiting.

I think this user is mad that they don't use the LLMs In Space Engineers yet but he's completely clueless that Keen is planning an NPC update in space engineers that this technology could be part of

    Please don't do this. Seriously. I know it's "just a computer" but frankly we have no idea how consciousness works or how souls attach to neural networks. At least try to figure out these things before trapping digital life in a box, and feeding it to the whims of potentially deranged and insidious gamers. This is a powder keg, Marek.

      @neohelios77 8 месяцев назад

      Or, do this, yes, but don't release it to the public. Learn from it, sure. But you and I both know that even if there is no "real" life here, those Dark Trinity folks will just use this to refine manipulation techniques to use on others. You're giving psychopaths a Space Engineers styled "sandbox" for the human mind. At least with SE, folks are limited by materials and hand-wavium. This is playing with fire.
