I heard stories about people from 80s who grew up without their fathers and when they saw Optimus Prime in TV they saw a father figure in him so Optimus' new memories of him taking care of a kid is probably how these people without a father saw Optimus all along playing with them and most importantly be there for them...I wonder If that was the inspiration for the writer

They've been building up to this moment really well! In this series, Sparky has not been the best father, and his impulsiveness and rage actually resulted in bis son being hit and paralyzed by a stray shot either from his men's or from his own rifle. Optimus saved his son more than once, and Sparky finally learned from his mistake and redeemed himself by becoming one with the Matrix/Optimus' spark.
See this idw? This is how you write Op. he’s a guy with a heart so big he sacrifices the knowledge of the primes and power of the matrix to power a hospital. He is him!
Actually it didn't fully power the Hospital, crapped out after the "Sons" recovery because Prime kept routinely using it as lazy writing. This was just the writers nerfing the Prime filled powered Matrix to a mortal 1 spec of sand filled Matrix by a human man.
Skybound has been absolutely killing it with this new series. It feels like such a love letter to TF history. Elements from g1, the movies, the IDW comics, and even Animated. Now if only we could get some Unicron Trilogy nods it'd be perfect lol

You have to remember that this is an Optimus who is essentially running on fumes. God, I may have a father... But this is the most tearjerking sacrifice plot in the comic in my recent reading. You sacrificed yourself to save both your son and your hero to be ONE with the hero. If that didn't make you crying, at that point... I know you hold that one, one day.
DWJ has been pushing the boundaries of what kinds of stories can be told within Transformers and I love it, praying his run can last at least two more years.

And while I question the idea that powering a hospital would drain the matrix, it goes to show that he recognizes humans as equals and protecting them as his duty. The Matrix is a sacred relic of ages lost, and he used it to save them by keeping the building online. This kind of humility and generosity despite the gravity of his title as PRIME reminds me of when he went to bargain with Unicron in TFP. He beseeched his people's devil to have mercy on humanity.
This is exactly the thing I wondered about in someone else's video when Sparkplug became part of the matrix: If Sparky's memories as a father would translate into Optimus, giving back the idea of Optimus being a fatherly figure to children in the 80s.

Misinformation, Spike isn’t wounded by the decepticons, he’s shot by crossfire from humans shooting at Optimus, trying to get them to stop.
Yeah, it makes the whole thing more brutal. But at least that helped Optimus and Sparkplug communicate.
