Been a big anno fan for years and having played the open beta a few days ago 1800 feels like a victorious return to form for the series, at least in my opinion. The class requirements is interesting and fits the theme and adds just enough spice to the Anno formula for returning players that it makes things interesting.

The comment that sticks out to me the most is about the performance. I also run a GTX 1060 (6GB) and the game runs very smooth still on the highest graphical settings. It probably also has something to do with other system specs like RAM and CPU, but even on the largest cities my game runs at almost peak performance with almost unnoticeable differences in FPS.

Why it cost so much? why market the expansions as "season passes"?

The campaign is lacking pretty hard. Has to be that weird merging-system. Shame, cuz the rest of the game really is the best they've ever put out there!

Screw the campaign, strategy games are always about the sandbox.

How can you review a game in 2 minutes? Can that even be called a review? More like a overview lol. or a preview. or a first impression. How am i as a consumer supposed to make a well informed decision in buying this product based on such a shallow review.... i may as well read the description of the game on the Ubisoft store page.

Our Review in 2 Minutes are not meant to be the most in-depth reviews. They're meant to be quick and to the point about our thoughts on the game, much like how you'd describe a game to a friend. If you're looking for in-depth reviews there's plenty of channels that do exactly that.

@@Gameumentary Yes i can see that. It is a short description of the game with some thoughts about it in the end. But that is kind of why i commented. People seem to be so much in a hurry these days that it has come to a point that a review sounds more like a sales pitch then a actual critical evaluation of a game. Of course this is my opinion but it frustrates me.

We do the reviews in this format because much longer reviews tend to over-explain everything about the game. We don't need to know the details of every ability a character has, or every single map in the game, or if there's twists and turns in the story.
We focus on a few key things. If there's a story, is it good? Is the game fun? Does it perform well, etc.

I just want to add my 2 cents here. I came here SPECIFICALLY because it was a 2-minute video. There are hundreds of other reviewers doing over 10-minute reviews which I avoid for a few reasons... 1. I don't want too much information about a game, I like surprises ... 2. It is only a game, i don't want to sit through 10-20mins of review before deciding.
Mart, learn that there are many people out there with a complete opposite view to you.. you have yoru reviewers, let us have ours.
Gameumentary, keep doing this because its an amazing and rare style

I didn't come for a let's play. I came for a review. I want to know if the reviewer liked it, and if so, why. This review covered everything quite nicely. Length in reviews can provide more detail, but are more often than not just a chance for a RUclipsr to extend their video past the critical 10 minute mark. I think Gameumentary did a very good job with this video.
