@@bayareaartist999 Sending it out for professional heat treatment would for sure be better. I would love to get a hardness tester to see my results. After this video I tried to drill a hole in it just for fun and a drill bit wouldn’t even touch it so it’s hard.
There are 52100 hardening specs you can find on the knife making forums. The cryo tempering is worth looking into. If you know anyone who has liquid nitrogen submerge the bushings in liquid nitrogen then heat temper them and they will be almost unwearable.

That would be easier but I don’t do this enough to justify one.
he doesn't need a kiln. A forge is just fine. The best would be just to send it out to have it heat treated and cryo tempered.
