They should have thrown in one of those new probe droids instead of the terrain. Would have been a similar piece count, but would have felt so much more valuable.
I love that you have an unbiased view when looking at sets and topics and don't let the opinions of the general fanbase affect your opinion. It makes your channel feel more pure compared to other channels.
Glad they at least dropped the stud shooters for the figs! While I can appreciate the idea of actually firing a projectile, I feel like they just look out of place, and it's mostly just gonna result in said studs getting lost in the voids of furniture
I have always loved your reviews the most out of any Lego RUclipsr. You are very unbiased and you look at things for how they are without too much craziness. Thank you for the years of quality content!!!
Although i agree that the detail on the figures is better, i prefer the old ones becouse they come with a backpack. I know its for complimenting the AT-AT and having them seated but id much rather have the older ones. Plus i live in spain so both finding this set and waiting for it to go on sale is an impossible task. Im also not one to complain about pricing with inflation and value of the figures but 20 euros is 22,5 dollars which i would say makes this slightly overpriced in Europe. Great review tho Jang.
The price would be a bit more tolerable if the snowtroopers came with their backpacks (same for the rebels in the 3-figure pack). As it is you'd be paying about $2 extra per set to get backpacks on Bricklink. Kamas would be good too but the leg printing helps a bit with that.
Small detail that I dearly and highly appreciate is that Jang puts Patreon supporters in some videos A to Z while in others Z to A, just to make sure that all of them (names) are visible and displayed equally. Just a tiny detail that makes me appreciate this RUclipsr much more (excluding the marvelous ability to analyze and review thoroughly, that's the main core). I hope you see this Jang and I express my appreciation towards you!
a very humble battle pack. all figs is relevant for the Hoth scene and also great minifig scaled speeder and e-web blaster. also no more stud shooters as blasters
Appreciate your honesty as always Jang! I’ll definitely be picking up a few of these to go alongside the AT-AT, but the price of 20 dollars is making it tough to fill the whole thing. Even on sale these are more expensive than the battle packs of old.
Hey Jang, great review! The easy removable part of the snow speeder is probably to play out scenes of the speeder getting cut in half like from Return of the Jedi.
3 snowtroopers to a speeder bike and rider is a good ratio and scales well. I've So many of them from pervious versions I don't feel like I need this one though. Great that it exists to keep it accessible to new fans for people building a collection though.
The legs of the cannon are 3 really cool looking blaster. I think if I had the set I would have to change the standing base so I could use those blasters.
Based on the value per piece compared to the last Hoth battle pack and adjusted for inflation, this set is actually on par. If not a better value because of better models and much better printing.
I got 2 of these battle packs and its really good. I like the fact none of the troopers have stud shooters but proper Lego guns. The builds are nice and everything is massable. When you consider that the Star Wars Lego magazine this month comes with a Snow Trooper for £4.25 the battle pack becomes real good value for £18. The snow scenery bits will be superb to make trenches for the Rebel Hoth Defense Minifigures and I have a Snow Speeder and AT-AT so I am looking forward to making my first ever Star Wars Lego scene for a shelf :D
The reason I feel the $20 price is bad is because I know some people who can’t always afford the bigger sets and just wanted the storm troopers and rebels
The higher price is rough. I too am thankful this set is four troopers with no officer or named character. That's been a Lego stumbling point since the days of pirate minifig packs that included the pirate captain.
20$ in just obnoxious if you check the previous SW battle packs. Take 8084 for example where you also had 4 minifigs, a speeder bike and a shooting turret but it only cost 12$. Even the most recent Mandalorian battle pack for 15$ was a better deal with 3 exclusive minifigs and all 4 having different prints and capes. This here is a rip-off but at least it gets discounted unlike the LEGO exclusive accessory packs with 3 figures for 15$. If sales would drop due to this price spike, LEGO would be forced to discount them like they did with the brick sketches, but if SW fans are willing to pay 800$ for a plastic dog, LEGO will continue to jack up the prices. Just don't pay the full price and wait for discounts.
Only people really complaining about price are those people that are buying a bunch of them. If you only plan to buy just one or two then I don’t think you will gripe about a couple extra dollars. Plus like Jang says the minifig value has gone up especially in aftermarket.
A lot of people would probably argue that this set is made to be purchased multiple times. Then again only a very small minority of people will buy more than 2.
The thing is... A battle pack is MEANT to be bought in quantity. These are things that LEGO originally created for army building. That means the higher the price, the lower the sales. Because at a certain point, the army builders will just stop buying these and start buying the minifigures separately in the aftermarket.
@@___David__ Hence the price point. If LEGO prices battle packs too cheaply, resellers will gobble them up and hold them for after retirement. When priced appropriately for the average consumer, they don't fly off the shelves too quickly and there is sufficient supply to meet demand without perpetually being out of stock. The 501st pack and this one seems to be testing the lines on what will still move to the hardcore enthusiasts in multiples, while still keeping it appealing to the average fan.
A figure worth $4? I think $3 is the right price considering how stingy Star Wars is with them now. They make millions and millions of them anyways and the snow troopers don’t have the back packs or the fabric kamas so
I think I'm only going to buy one of these to get some Snowtroopers, but this set is NOT good for army building because of the price. Imagine, you're getting 15 Snowtroopers + 5 Scout troopers for $100. Doesn't seem like a fantastic deal to me.
The problem I have with the price is that now you could go and buy a battle pack get a decent amount of cool stuff and feel rewarded now you have that hesitation almost guilt and it almost feels like it's not accessible to everyone. Corporate greed kills that after school store run core childhood memory that builds life long fans.
I got 2 of these. Got to say the builds are fine. And along with the ATST and the smaller ATAT it's a good combo. Only wish the rebel pack was available. Which is not.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I feel 20 is well worth it for this set. I bought 2 myself and the number of troops, excellent vehicle that you'd want to have multiple of, good generic terrain building pieces and decent if inaccurate weapon makes a great addition to my hoth collection for a reasonable price. Do I wish it was cheaper? Of course but it doesn't feel like I'm being charged for more than I'm getting.
Oh, the speeder matches the co-current set? This set just got even better :D I think this set is a huge step in a good direction for battle packs. Sad about the price, though.
It is not just inflation but also materials cost. Pretty much all raw materials including the plastics LEGO uses has been going up in cost substantially for the last decade or so. They are still taking inflation and rising costs to produce as an out to raise prices and pocket the extra margins but it is not just them raising costs because they can. There is a reason beyond greed just something to keep in mind.
Bet they made the price higher because people who got the UCS AT-AT want to fill them with all the troopers. But i only buy one set, i dont need all seats in my UCS AT-AT filled ;)
ive bought three of these so far to stock my UCS AT-AT walker, its not cheap and trying to source snow troopers by themselves end up more expensive than just buying these battle packs so when i finish building my walker ill have a heap of snowy ridges, speeders and turrets to add around my walker
I like the imperial officers and i would buy an imperial officer battle pack its on the list of: batlle packs i want but probably wont get 1 stormtrooper battle pack 2 navy trooper battle pack 3 mudtrooper battle pack 4 scout trooper battle pack 5 imperial officer battle pack At least i can hold out hope for some of them
No Imperial Officer this pack's lack of an officer does make it more massible and arguably a better value than past 'battle packs'. Since you're getting more Useful minifigures
I have given up on LEGO completely in the recent months due to the ridiculous prices they charge for their "bricks" and move on to spending my money on the high-end action figures and statues... Saying all that, I still enjoy watching other people buying and sharing their LEGO collection
People with the AT-AT will probably buy multiple of these. Am afraid I will do so either. And LEGO knows that (not specificly about me, but you know what I mean). That was for me the easy way to explain this. But it turns out Lego has done this with all battlepacks, so there goes my theory.
Happy clone! Wait, eyelashes and lips? Two of those faces are female! So, in the old canon the Empire was quite sexist (can't remember which books, but it was a thing they talked about) . . . apparently when Disney threw out all the Extended Universe and started again, that's one of the things they ditched. I was just gonna buy this set and sell the snow-troopers, but I may need to keep all these new heads. :D
Lego does like to price their minifigs in sets at $4usd even for basic no prints on legs/arms, etc... i look at most harry potter sets or city sets and i think their pricing is pretty bad for basic figs. So this set having leg prints and cool helmets for their minifigs is good.
Folks complain about a $20 price tag for a Star Wars battle pack. Meanwhile, LEGO castle fans would undoubtedly LOVE to pay $20 to get four castle minifigures...
3 is to high. My local LEGO store charges 2.50 for a minifig with accessory, or 7.00 for three. If you look at older minifig packs (town, space, castle, pirates...) you also always have a similar ratio between RRP and included content. Anyway, Amazon discounts eventually, then I'll pick up.
i dont like the price hike because the smaller ones are still here, theyre just,,, worse. i do think theyve always been good value, and this set is priced fairly, but having something great taken away for something fair sucks. like halo going from great customisation for free to good customisation for infinite money, at the trade off of the game being f2p. both good, but i miss what was great before. that being said, great review as always :)
The price to me seems to be a little higher than it should be, maybe not by much, 4-5$ at least, or they should have added something more to justify the price increase, it's not terrible per say, at least not to me, but many things, including Lego have gone up in price, wish it was not so, but what can you do, unless you're waiting for a rebate for this set.
I think really they could’ve used clone heads for this set. I mean this is clearly intended to be an addition to the UCS ATAT to help fill it up as much as it is a battle pack. Ans as we were given a General Veers Minifigure in the UCS ATAT set means that according to cannon Veers was commanding that ATAT manned by the troops of Vader’s Fist, a legion of imperial stormtroopers composed of clones formally part of the 501st Legion of the Republic army. So all the troopers could’ve been clone heads and still have been cannon as this was one of the last battles the 501st fought in composed mainly of clones….
Thanks, probably will buy those, but way in the future when they are on sale, at least half the price. Printing is awesome, but yes just generic troopers with not an important character for that price is a scam !
Of course Lego can charge what they like, because AFoL buy it like lambs to the slaughter. I've seen a YT video in which the host was complaining about a two-hundred dollar set, asserting they would only be buying two of them. ...Yup; I'm sure Lego learned a lot from that!
Where'd you get that number from? I'm pretty certain it costs them a lot, lot less than that. The price we pay for stuff is in a different universe than the cost to product them, but there's then much more expense to doing business that rolls back into our costs. LEGO doesn't just buy bulk plastic for one price and then get the full retail price of the sets made from that plastic :)
Agreed, way too many other channels complain base most of their opinions on what the general public wants them to say.
He doesn't suck up to the Lego company either.
Glad they at least dropped the stud shooters for the figs! While I can appreciate the idea of actually firing a projectile, I feel like they just look out of place, and it's mostly just gonna result in said studs getting lost in the voids of furniture
It's always a good day when Jang uploads multiple Lego reviews
I'm so happy that battle packs now have normal guns
I have always loved your reviews the most out of any Lego RUclipsr. You are very unbiased and you look at things for how they are without too much craziness. Thank you for the years of quality content!!!

Kamas would be good too but the leg printing helps a bit with that.
“Thankfully they don’t throw in a named character”
Man, imagine a massable set like this, and they toss Vader into it for no good reason! 🤣

a very humble battle pack. all figs is relevant for the Hoth scene and also great minifig scaled speeder and e-web blaster. also no more stud shooters as blasters
As someone who watched URC, seeing that Rustler on the top in the background brings me joy :)
Appreciate your honesty as always Jang! I’ll definitely be picking up a few of these to go alongside the AT-AT, but the price of 20 dollars is making it tough to fill the whole thing. Even on sale these are more expensive than the battle packs of old.
I like Snowtroopers but hopefully they release an Endor set with more scout troopers with the black under-suit.

Jang, if you want to reminisce about old times, I remember buying figure packs for $5 to $7 and getting 5 to 6 figures. Those were the days.
I heard people say the scout trooper in white would be exclusive for this set.
It’s not.
Also to be found in set 75307.
I think if it came with backpacks the $20 price wouldn’t have been too hard to swallow. That or a snowball from Hoth.
Based on the value per piece compared to the last Hoth battle pack and adjusted for inflation, this set is actually on par. If not a better value because of better models and much better printing.
Nice review Jang! Always a pleasure to see your takes on sets

We definitely need more battle packs!
This set is actually really good except for the price still waiting on my stores to get the clone command station pack 😭😭
Hopefully they release new clone trooper and storm trooper packs in this style. The old ones are harder to come by, and the builds weren't great
I’ll definitely be waiting to buy this when it goes on a 20% sale at major retailers
I really want the new Lego Star Wars Snowtrooper Battle Pack.
20$ in just obnoxious if you check the previous SW battle packs. Take 8084 for example where you also had 4 minifigs, a speeder bike and a shooting turret but it only cost 12$. I need some more snow trooper for my Hoth diorama, I think I'll buy two or three of these sets, nice review anyway!
GUNDAM!!! Will Jang be creating a gunpla channel? JANGPla?
This may be an unpopular opinion but…i think that CMF prices ( $4.99) have given Lego the go ahead to consider mini figs worth $5.
I think I'm only going to buy one of these to get some Snowtroopers, but this set is NOT good for army building because of the price. Imagine, you're getting 15 Snowtroopers + 5 Scout troopers for $100. Doesn't seem like a fantastic deal to me.
I've never looked at these as "how much are the minifigures alone worth and the add on stuff." Honestly gonna use that metric for stuff like this.
The problem I have with the price is that now you could go and buy a battle pack get a decent amount of cool stuff and feel rewarded now you have that hesitation almost guilt and it almost feels like it's not accessible to everyone. Corporate greed kills that after school store run core childhood memory that builds life long fans.
They really need to bring back the trike back-end piece for the speeder bike build.
I just realized the scout has a tube coming out the back print
Got 5 of these before New Years day in Canada.
Hoth Rebel accessory set not available yet.🤠
I got 2 of these. Got to say the builds are fine. And along with the ATST and the smaller ATAT it's a good combo. Only wish the rebel pack was available. Which is not.

Nice lego star wars 2022 snowtrooper battle pack I will pick it up
idk why but I nearly choked on my dinner at "satisfied clone"... :D great review as usual JANG!
Oh, the speeder matches the co-current set? This set just got even better :D I think this set is a huge step in a good direction for battle packs. Sad about the price, though.
I might buy 3 of these sets for my Artic Research Base.haha

I like the imperial officers and i would buy an imperial officer battle pack its on the list of: batlle packs i want but probably wont get
1 stormtrooper battle pack
2 navy trooper battle pack
3 mudtrooper battle pack
4 scout trooper battle pack
5 imperial officer battle pack
At least i can hold out hope for some of them
Hothy New Year.🤠
Razorback and Mega Size RX-78 in the background?!?
No Imperial Officer
this pack's lack of an officer does make it more massible and arguably a better value than past 'battle packs'. Since you're getting more Useful minifigures

Good set. But I won’t pay $20 for it.
hold up a troop building pack that doesn't throw in random imperial officer you don't want D:
nice!
I bought a bunch of the, despite the price. Gotta fill that AT-AT.
Happy clone!
Wait, eyelashes and lips? Two of those faces are female!

It’s weird seein that scout trooper without the black arms
I kinda regret getting the last set of Hoth battle packs now, even though I adapted them to get rid of the targets...
Scalpers took all the sets because I haven't seen any left in stores anywhere.
i don’t mind the price hike tbh, it’s still not too expensive for a bunch of massable figures, the presence of bike and e-web add a lot for me too
Ah yes, the “AT-AT” filler, great review Jang!
Hi, what set do you feel has the best and most accurate snowtrooper?
Imagine telling someone from 2012 that in 2022 it would cost over 100 bucks for five battle packs
4 figures and 3 decent builds, this set is perfect for what it needs to be.
It'll be down to $16 USD in a few months at retail, which aligns with the price you suggest :)
Now imagine how I feel about these sets still seeing figures as only 2 bucks max worth of value
I'm not mad at Lego for upping the price. I'm sad that I don't have the extra spending money to pick up a lot of them.
How well does it go with the 2020 AT-AT?
3 is to high. My local LEGO store charges 2.50 for a minifig with accessory, or 7.00 for three. If you look at older minifig packs (town, space, castle, pirates...) you also always have a similar ratio between RRP and included content. Anyway, Amazon discounts eventually, then I'll pick up.
I find the lack of kamas disturbing.
I was on the fence with this one, but he did make a reasonable argument so I'm gonna throw my money at something else.
Easy if your American, not so when the exchange rate is 1:20
i dont like the price hike because the smaller ones are still here, theyre just,,, worse. i do think theyve always been good value, and this set is priced fairly, but having something great taken away for something fair sucks. like halo going from great customisation for free to good customisation for infinite money, at the trade off of the game being f2p. both good, but i miss what was great before.
that being said, great review as always :)

It’s fairly priced.
This set is 25 Canadian
I think 20$ is okay, but in Sweden it's over 27$ :s
Reasonable!? How very dare you!
Only thing wrong with the set was the box was incredibly small
$25 (+ tax) in Canada!
Thanks, probably will buy those, but way in the future when they are on sale, at least half the price. Printing is awesome, but yes just generic troopers with not an important character for that price is a scam !
Great battlepack, just overpriced. Will wait until I can find it on sale before I get it.
This just dlc for AT-AT
Of course Lego can charge what they like, because AFoL buy it like lambs to the slaughter. I've seen a YT video in which the host was complaining about a two-hundred dollar set, asserting they would only be buying two of them. ...Yup; I'm sure Lego learned a lot from that!
Won’t pay more than 15 bucks for it 🗿🤔
I never held minifjgures to the 4 dollar price, as it costs Lego about 50 cents per minifigure. On average that is.
In Spain this set will cost 20€... So bad Lego
I paid 45 bgn= 23 euro
Feels evil to raise the prices for what is considered to be a toy. It's not like lego is a struggling company.
