Oh, no. Your baofeng doesn't have this. This is MDC1200 ID module that we produce and that could be implemented in your radio too. Baofeng doesn't have that by default. You can visit our website: radioidinfo.wix.com/radioid or facebook page: facebook.com/RadioID1200.
baofeng already has a roger beep or more to the point an ANI-PTT, U would just need the program software that it comes with to program it. my HH transmits "556" when I depress the PTT button. I dont seem to get the point i guess...maybe its just me. sorry if that be the case....shawn
BostonShawn508 I know this post is a year old but just for the sake of sharing the little I know: there are a lot of public safety systems which rely specifically on MDC-1200 to identify which radio is transmitting, and as far as I know they wouldn't identify the DTMF tones that are normally used for ID.
8 year old comment but anyway, the GM300 has a setting called MDC-IN that filters the data burst known as the "ACK" sound, if that is left unconfigured you'll hear the entire data burst unfiltered, but if it's configured to read it, it will sound muted and any data processed with have different behavior on any radio that has an MDC decoder since this is usually a per-channel setting, however be careful using MDC-IN, in the worst case someone can send a packet that can silence your device and it will act like it's dead on purpose.
It is a motorola I'd format known as mdc 1200. The chirp is only applied on a rxing unit capable of mdc muting. None less this isn't legal on murs frs or gmrs. If you have a license and use business frequencies that's a different story.
+Harry Schlonge ndc1200 isnt illegal nor using it on those freq but whats illegal is the watts but again i know of hams who use murs who talk on them and no one has reported them.. i never heard of mdc 1200 illegal but does piss people off though.lol
@@harryschlonge5762 it is legal on GMRS as of 2 years ago you can do short data for things like texting, location, etc I would assume a PTT ID would be acceptable too, it’s more about the amount of time and bandwidth it takes up and less about the digital format, as long as it is not encrypted
