- It's once again time to talk about MultiVersus, and explore the possibility of it coming to the Nintendo Switch. We'll discuss why it hasn't been released on this console yet. But I'll also talk about why I think it could still have a chance. So join me as I speculate, breakdown, and try to predict how this whole situation will play out!

Why would Nintendo care about competition to smash even though smash ultimate hasn’t even gotten content in almost 3 years
Imagine MultiVersus when lying down, I'd love MVS on Switch
I think they’ll add it when the Nintendo switch 2 comes out for both
Absolutely not. Not because Smash Bros is on Switch. Competition is a good thing. Switch ports are notoriously bad, including those that are cross play. Fall Guys is a good example of them completely altering the entire game because they also had to accommodate the Switch version. There were so many levels broken that they introduced a limited map pool so that working on maps wouldnt be such a headache, which meant less variety overall. Given that its a small team working on Multiversus, keep it off Switch for everyone's sake.

The game is free to play, you dont have to pay nothing
What I meant is, that you have to pay for Nintendo Switch online. But on the 3DS and Wii U you didn't.

I think the biggest reason here and one that wasn't discussed is PFG isn't a huge development studio and I think they just had/have SO MUCH to do between getting the beta and full release done that they simply didn't want to spend development time and resources on yet another consoles optimization. I think they'd be open to putting the game on Switch if it does well on the other consoles, but it's simply not a focus right now. I guess they figure the Switch already has a lot of competition in the platform fighter genre with Smash, NASB, Rivals of Aether, etc. that it would be a harder console to break out on, but the F2P aspect does help it. I think it's just a matter of "give it time, see if it does well on other consoles first", because I think categorically, Nintendo has no objections to it, nor would Nintendo be required to provide their own servers for the game.
WB really does have the potential to out perform SSB. 2 major reasons.
1st the WB IP's (characters) are vast and varied between older folks, young adults and kids. They may not be as popular as N but they are known across a much bigger medium, movies, TV, comics, etc; while N Characters are known to gamers. That means more people are familiar with and have some connection with at least one Character. Everyone can recognize Mario, but non-gamers don't have a connection with him.
2nd, this game can and will continue to grow in recognizable Characters, if a new ip is successful or an old one becomes relevant, they can add the ip easily (rick & morty, Beetlejuice). They are also able to transfer the game from consoles to console without changing the actual game. And the refresh the experience. Nintendo doesn't do that. While SSB is the true gold standard of the platform fighters it is also somewhat stale. Nick, WB, Sony, all had some success due to it being a new experience. Also also if Nintendo puts SSBU on the next console, it won't have the same success. If they make a new SSB it won't have them same success. WB can win by growing slowly.
But remember I said WB has the potential to do it, not that it is guaranteed to turnout that way. The players will ultimately decide.
The game not being on Switch is why I'm not picking up the game. Considering it's similar to Smash Bros, I would want to play MVS since I am more comfortable with the having Smash Bros controls for MVS.
i would gladly pay for this game if they put it on switch just so i can play as jason.

I can’t imagine why anybody would play this when Smash is an option. Like sure, if you don’t have a Switch, it seems like a decent consolation, but if you have a Switch and you can play Smash Bros, why would you slog your way through a micro transaction-laden hellscape?

That’s like saying you don’t understand why people don’t eat only the necessary foods to live, people like to eat sweets because normal foods are usually eaten all the time, connecting this, people who have played smash for years have probably gotten bored of it, and are playing this not only because it’s new, but because people have been waiting for a fighting game with cartoon characters in it. Albeit the launch was really rocky, but that’s not stopping it from changing. You can keep your point of view and I respect it because obviously many people don’t really like the state of this game but I’m hoping I opened a different view on it at least. Sorry for the excessive yapping.
