  • 3 Row SUVs are getting expensive and ultra cometitive, but this 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander offers quite a bit for the price. With subtle changes from the 2018 Outlander that I reviewed last year, I go over details specific to this 2019 Outlander SE model in this video. Although it's not fun to drive, a top seller, or a stand out in any way...this 2019 Outlander still offers quite a bit for the right buyer.

    Did you see the back seat A/C vents? Those are new for 2019 👍
    BUT, they discontinued to spare tire under the vehicle for 2019 👎

    • @lucky1206
      @lucky1206 5 лет назад +4

      This 2019 does have a spare. There is a piece of plastic you have to remove right where the latch comes together in the trunk door. When that piece is uncovered there is a bolt that can be unscrewed using the lug nut tool. The spare will slowly come down

    • @ericvalenz
      @ericvalenz 5 лет назад

      Do the rear vents make a big difference? I really think i need the rear vents but the discounts on the 2018s are hard pass to on. Aside from the vents, leather and the cosmetics are there any more changes mechanical-wise? Did they stiffen the ride or adjusted the steering?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад +1

      Sorry Ray I just saw this. According to Mitsubishi they discontinued it. On their press site and regular specs sheet it was noted. Only a tire inflator kit is available now. I didn’t get under to actually look since I read that..but that’s what they say

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад +1

      There aren’t any changes to steering or ride, not from what they mentioned or from what I could tell. Felt exactly the same as the 2018 IMO. The rear vents help the most when it’s like 90+ but otherwise it’s negligible.
      I didn’t get to drive in the winter to know the difference though...

    • @ericvalenz
      @ericvalenz 5 лет назад +1

      Prime Autotainment thank you for replying and for this very good review. I wonder what they put in place of that spare tire or is it just an empty well now?? A dealer here in NE Florida has the GT for an internet price of just $24000. Drive away price could be $26k or less as it gets closer to the end of the year. $26k is like the price of an LE RAV4. But I'm on the fence with the GTs premium only gas plus lesser mpg. But $26k is a steal. I know Mitsu is known for their legendary AWD in the Pajero and Evo, I'm not sure about now with the Nissan-Renault merger. Although you won't get the JATCO cvt in the GT, the additional maintenance on the AWD might bite back in the future.

    I bought a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT and it's awesome. I took it all over to San Francisco from L.A., Joshua Tree in the desert going off road, to the mountains at big bear where I had to go on some rough roads just to get to a camp site. Mitsubishi builds their vehicles very strong and they are really reliable. I reccomend this brand for anyone who is looking for a 3 row seat vehicle with funtionality. In my Outlander, I have the Genuine Roof Rails, All Weather Floor Mats, rear Cargo mat, and the cargo cover. This 2019 does have a spare. There is a piece of plastic you have to remove right where the latch comes together in the trunk door. When that piece is uncovered there is a bolt that can be unscrewed using the lug nut tool. The spare will slowly come down. The only difference I see is that this 2019 has slightly better seats, rear A/C Vents, and more mpg I think from what I see..it's a best buy for anyone, and it comes with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty.

    I just bought a 2020 Outlander ES, I love it! I came from a Nissan Rogue and it was a huge problem needing a new CVT at 65k miles, my mother has a Mitsubishi Mirage and it’s been the most reliable car for her it’s now 5 years old and has 80k miles and it’s literally never given her an issue. So I went to the local Mitsubishi dealer and I literally would’ve taken anything with cruise control as the Rogue I had ..it had a basic radio, air conditioning and power windows/locks that’s ALL it had ..anything was an upgrade at that point between the lack of features I had and reliability issues. I talked to the sales guy and he pointed me to a 2020 Outlander ES ..I literally paid $17,600 for the CUV BRAND NEW after rebates and incentives. it has a back up camera, touch screen Bluetooth radio, heated seats, third row, cruise control and audio controls on the steering wheel the seats are comfortable it has the most quiet and comfortable ride it feels really peppy and it gets gas mileage my Rogue could never achieve. I’m looking forward to many years in this car. It’s also really safe getting an IIHS top safety pick. As much as some reviews I have watched or read saying it doesn’t compete with the competition ..I agree.. none of the competition can keep up with what the outlander offers for the same price.

    A great vehicle I would recommend it to everyone it’s really underrated and I would put it up against other suvs in the same class in most areas it’s comparable and it’s great in the snow and the third seat is hard to get into if you’re an adult but kids love it back there.

    I have a 2014 Outlander - 96K miles, zero problems. No repairs so far. I am consistently getting 28 mpg mixed driving. Highway mpg is around 31-34 mpg. My complaints are minor -
    1. Location of bottle holders
    2. Lack of lighting in the lower dash

    Forward Collision Warning system does not warn based on relative speed, it only gives if the front car is stand still. in real world we need for a slow moving front car while you are approaching in high speed. a little Garmin GPS "Garmin 010-N1682-02 Drive Assist 51 NA LMT-S" does a better job. I finally bought this GPS for warning. My old Subaru FMC was far far better.

      Hi Nena! The steering felt the same to me. I don’t believe they made any changes to that.
      If you live where temperatures are high for several months and if you have 2nd row passengers a lot...I don’t think they’d be very helpful. But you could always use the center air vents to blow straight back into the 2nd row while using the side vents for driver or passenger. For the stereo...the Fosgate definitely sounds better but the base stereo isn’t bad either. Unless you like to Jam a lot and that’s a big part of your drive, id probably pass. Hope this helps. Thank you and thanks for watching!

    Hi, I have test driven this car 2017 model, I find the response from the steering wheel is a bit out of control, which means when the road is uneven, you have to hold the steering wheel extremely tight (or you have to fight with the steering wheel for control) before the wheels derail, what is your experience on this new model 2019?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад +1

      I agree that it’s not very responsive. From what I could tell...it feels the same for the 2019 model but some others have said they think it’s better. Mitsubishi didn’t say they made any changes to the steering so I doubt it’s actually any better

    I want so bad to like Mitsubishi because I think they used to make pretty good little cars, but this is just too far behind the competition. I do it think it has some good points though. I would imagine after rebates and haggling, you could probably get one if these closer to $20,000, but I would still be worried that if you tried to trade it in a few years, you’d be in the red. Nice job!

      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад +3

      Excellent points Jonathan. I agree with you. I’m curious if the newer eclipse cross is more competitive with others. • @tigerfan8244
      @tigerfan8244 5 лет назад

      Prime Autotainment I like the look of the Eclipse Cross. I wish they would have named it something else though. I guess if you buy a car to keep and can get a too-good-to-pass-up deal on one it could be a good opportunity. If you like to trade your cars every coupe of years like me, a Mitsubishi would be a bad choice. And I never miss an upload!

    Okay, can several people clarify. How reliable are Mitsubishi vehicles now? I've seen too many conflicting opinions on Reddit and would like to know what the RUclips audience thinks. Honestly, the Outlanders from 2007 onward don't seem bad but because of bad marketing I guess Mitsubishi lost some of its foothold in the US market and is trying to regain it.

    WATCH OUT FOR LEMON & POOR CVT Outlander. Bought new 2017 Model 4cyl in Jan 2018, had first transmission removal around 4300 miles. Engine Oil leaked through CVT torque convertor area. Same problem kept happen within 3000 miles range, Lemon lawsuit case filed and still waiting for anything from Mitsubishi. 10yr / 100000 miles Powertrain warrenty does not cover 100% for this matter. Luckily my bumper to bumper covered those issues.

    I watched your review again (cuz it's a good review and I WANT this vehicle) and I noticed you said there is no spare tire. Unless they've discontinued it, the spare is mounted underneath the back of the car, like a pickup truck. Good thing to have, but not so great having to crawl under the car on your back on the side of the dirty road.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you! The sad thing is they actually dropped it for 2019. I should have clarified that during the review. I was surprised to see that...it would be nice if they offered it as an option (maybe they still do, but it wasn’t listed anyways). Thanks for watching!

    Hi, i am considering which car is suitable for my family, Xtrail CRV RAV4 and Outlander, would you mind give me some suggestion?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 лет назад

      Hello, it really comes down to what features are important. If you need a small 3rd row then the Outlander is your choice. Otherwise the rest are very similar. CRV is impressive with space and practicality, but has had recent problems with the 1.5 turbo engine.
      Xtrail cvt transmission is questionable. The current gen Rav4 is pretty bland but practical, the 2019 model will probably be better than the rest. Tough decisions! Test drive each one and that will help you eliminate. They’re all good options in my opinion

    these car get so much of a bad rep, but its a great car or suv, on this one they could've gone big far as the wheel rim size 20 inch and gave a spare tire, the radio could've way better, the liner and the panel and seats are ok but def more of a curve to the seat. and it could've taller inside for taller people. I don't know about the CVT Trans i've been hearing how bad they are in Nissans, def go with a v6,

    If this were an "all new" version, and considering the trim level, I would call this Compact CUV an epic failure. But I can't say that!!
    This chassis is 13 years old!!! Yet, it does most things right, including giving you a geared transmission with a V6 at just over $30,000, with a four-cylinder/CVT combo (And four wheel drive!) for under that? Frankly, I'm shocked that it's not a smash hit in our market! And, it's not bad lookin', either! Just sayin'.
