  • Two weakness, needs more power and rear air-con vents, but the Outlander is otherwise a very spacious, practical, and pretty handsome SUV for the price.
    The 2.0-litre model, being an entry level variant, is not embarrassingly-equipped relative to its bigger-engined 2.4-litre sibling. Excellent chassis dynamics too.

    I like the fact that you really do your homework about the vehicles you're reviewing and not just regurgitating the views of other car vloggers/channels. Your reviews provides even the smaller details of the vehicles and I think many of your followers appreciates that. Substance over form.

      i do have to comment that reviewers shouldn't quote too much on "paper data" e.g. torque/horse power - give us your opinion if the driving experience matches the advertised claims - too often we here reviewers go "wow this thing has 600HP, 500 NM etc etc and running on 8 speed - well a lot of cars e.g.. the mazdas doesn't drive as well as its claimed in the late 1990s/early 2000s
      having said u r more informative than bobby - and at times more entertaining...bobby should probably do the realestate stuff

    Overall an honest review. Way to go, Kon! Actually this 2.0 CKD version comes with 225/55/R18 Toyo Proxes R44 tyres same as the 2.4 CBU one. I do prefer the one fitted on the 2.4 CKD , looks more "Shogun' to me,lol. Got my Outlander 2.0 on 21 Jun 2018. So far so good. Power is adequate for ordinary uncle driver like me. However, if you are keen driver or drive mostly on highway or "visit" Genting weekly, the 2.4 may suits you better. Fuel consumption is adequate for a new car with mileage less than 2500KM. Average 8.6L/100KM or 11.6km/1 L , running on Shell V-power 97. The Outlander is an underrated 7 seated SUV in Malaysia. I hope MMM can further enhance their after sale service.

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад +1

      The Outlander is a vehicle of considerable merit, but is hampered by two weaknesses. If you find the engine's outputs adequate, that's great news. Not many would fuel their car with 97, but I m guessing that contributes to your improved economy.

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад

      What is your feedback of MMM aftersales?

    • @hangweiteo2050
      @hangweiteo2050 6 лет назад +1

      Yup, RON 97 definitely improved the fuel economy of my car. My biggest concern is the quality of the fuel. Euro 4M RON 97 gasoline is a "cleaner" fuel compares to Euro 2 RON 95 in Malaysia. People seems to be more emphasised about the RON rating rather than the Euro Standard. Hope our government can implement Euro 4m RON 95 in October.

    • @hangweiteo2050
      @hangweiteo2050 6 лет назад +1

      Sent my car to local SC for 1st service months ago. What I can say is MMM need to improve it's SC service advisor, facility and most importantly it's service quality. To cut a long story short, the overall quality of the local SC is just so so.

      @@hangweiteo2050few yrs back when ron97 implement euro 4 they mention that ron95 euro4 will be implement in 2018, however no news abt it till now. I used to pump ron97 when is euro4 & bhp ron95 as is cleaner as it's already between euro 3-4. Those ppm reading for peteol standard. Then only came to know that my Honda city is euro 2 emission. So even thou is cleaner fuel but I don't contribute for a better enviroment. We are way behind in euro petrol standard. Hopefully the petrol euro standard will be higher soon

    Mitsubishi FMC does not give warning when the front car is moving in slow and your car is approaching in high speed.Mitsubishi has to update its software to adopt a relative velocity and distance fine tune for FMC warning. I am disappointed when compare to other company such feature. I am a Outlander PHEV GT 2018 owner.

    Hi folks, I have test driven this car, I find the response from the steering wheel is too direct and blunt, which means when the road is curvy or uneven, you have to hold the steering wheel extremely tight before the wheels derail, what is your experience on this?

    The 3.0L V6 engine will solved the less pickup power which available in the West.
    The space is much better than the CX5, CRV furthermore the outlander & the outlander plug-in hybrid model is the best selling model in the world now.
    This model is much bigger than CRV overall.
    This model is actually is based on the concept design back in the 2013 which at that time also no aircond vent on the 2nd roll seat.
    The 2018 plug-in hybrid has solved the 2nd roll seat aircond vent also the engine has been updated to 2.4L which more powerful and better fuel efficiency sadly here they don't bring it in.
    The cabin nvh is much better than others like (CX5 & CRV no 360 degree camera) furthermore they come with the premium tinted film from LUMA (breaker resistant & heat resistant).
    I have drove this vehicle during hot weather to tanjung sepat trip, the cabin inside is not hot on the 2nd roll even it without the aircond vent during the afternoon.
    The safety is much better as well. ruclips.net/video/ex9pKFaN1Yo/видео.html

      This car was designed from the onset as a 7-seater, so its spaciousness advantage over the CR-V and CX-5 is not surprising.
      It's good to know that you have a positive experience with the vehicle. Good for prospective owners to know.

      The PV6 gearbox is a much older design, and the Proton version lacked an ATF cooler that was part of the original MMC design. The later F4A22 4AT used in the Waja and a host of Campro models have turned out to be pretty durable.
      I am, however, aware that early batch Lancer GTs that use this very same CVT also faced overheating issues when driven hard. When Proton worked on the Inspira, they put an additional CVTF cooler to alleviate this issue.
