Welcome to another week in my life on my birthday vlog!! I love making these every year--it gives me such a lovely little snippet to look back on and to see what's changed. Lots of lovely, cozy things happened this week. We went book shopping. We ate lots of food. I did a lot of writing. And, also, I cut my hair off!

I agree with libraries being magical places. When I do a library haul, I trot away with my treasures thinking to myself "really? I get to walk out with these wonderful stories for free?" I'm currently reading Still Life by Sarah Winman (a library loan), and oh my heart. Happy birthday. I can't believe my 26th birthday was 17 years ago.

I live in the Adelaide Hills so it’s really fun to watch vlogs and recognise so many of the places. For my birthday this year (2023) I went to that same bookstore and also the same botanic gardens. It looks like you had a fab birthday week, thanks for sharing 😊
about that haircut bit, I totally relate. I felt that way for the longest time. At home they joked how I always cried after a haircut. But I found the right hair dresser who listens and worked on communicated what I wanted so its been so much better in last two years.
I used to be exactly the same when I went to the hairdresser. I never felt I could express myself. But like you, I'm getting better at it. 💃🏻

Also, I am still traumatized to go to a hairdresser lol when I was a teenager a hairdresser kept roasting my hair and was just overall mean to the point I hated the cut and never wanted one to touch me again. Once I got the courage to go to one again…. This hairdresser cut himself with his OWN scissors on accident and just blood on my hair…. Never again mannnn I’ll cut it till the day I die now and I’m 27!
