      Mostly in the developing world. Even then i think eventually all countries will realise that it's harmful to human health. However Asbestos mining is still profitable and therefore countries that have weak rule of law will be vulnerable to this industry. Even if it gets banned in India the vulture capitalists will go to Africa and the people there will suffer too.

    Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring fibrous minerals known for their durability, fire resistance, and insulating properties. It has been widely used in various industries, including construction, automotive, and manufacturing, for materials such as insulation, roofing, and flooring.
    There are several types of asbestos, the most common being:
    1. **Chrysotile (white asbestos)**: The most frequently used form in industrial applications.
    2. **Amosite (brown asbestos)**: Often used in cement sheets and pipe insulation.
    3. **Crocidolite (blue asbestos)**: Used in high-temperature applications.
    Despite its useful properties, asbestos is hazardous to health. When asbestos fibers are inhaled, they can cause serious respiratory conditions, including asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma. Because of these health risks, the use of asbestos has been heavily regulated or banned in many countries.

    Good documentary,thanks for posting.the danger is not only for workers and people living in the neighborhoods but for everyone getting into contact means: living in houses with asbestos roofs or made with asbestos cement, here in Europe asbestos is removed from roofs and other facilities...it is very dangerous for everyone.

    Contact labour is a euphemism for low-wage slaves. The Indian govt has allowed about 90% of its workforce to be exploited by weak laws that take advantage of contract workers.

    Is asbestos not banned worldwide?

    • @lluow
      @lluow 3 месяца назад +1

      It should be but it all comes down to the governments. If the government doesn’t pass the regulations to ban it and enforce it, people can’t do anything about it.
