Today Was The Montgomery County High Schools Monthly Fire Drill Today, And Being In The School Arena Where One Of The Control Panels We're, I Decided To Go And Film The Activation. The School Mostly Has Some Old Edwards/EST Genesis Strobes Along With EST SIGA-278 Pull Stations. However In Buildings 3 And 4 Are A Mix Of Older Simplex, Gentex, Edwards, And Fire Lite Alarms That I Don't Really Know Their Story On. However I Know That It's An Old Part Of The Building, But Was Actually Remodeled A Little Before The Main Remodel In 2004

There should be Voice evacuation or chimes instead of horns because horns make people go crazy because they are so loud and horn strobe fire alarms especially the genesis make special education students go crazy when there are drills.
We had a fire drill at the same day as you did except at the lunch time,

The other students did NOT act appropriately when the fire alarm was activated. When you hear that alarm you are supposed to proceed to the nearest exit in a calm and orderly fashion. If that had been a real fire someone potentially could've been hurt or possibly killed which is why you don't just run amuck during a FIRE DRILL.
This is the same fire alarm system that we have in most public schools here in Fairfax county Virginia except it is the white circular ceiling mount Version.
Every time I walk by a fire alarm at school I'm scared because I never know when we are having a fire drill.

My elementary school has one in every classroom and four of them in the gym!!!!

9:27 at approximately 2:28 Pm on Thursday April 14th, 2016 in my elementary school expect one of my classmates pulled the fire alarm in the gymnasium and the Edwards EST genesis horn strobes were the white circular ceiling mount version.

My high school has a indoor wheelock AS's ZNS's outside MT's and that's it which is old indoor AS's doing continuous and other new indoor AS's and ZNS's doing code 3 as well as the outside MT's doing continuous too.

I used to be scared of fire alarms as a kid. Now that i learned so much on them and watched lots of these kinds of videos, im not scared anymore. I look up at them now fascinated. The best tip i can give you is to think about them differently. I started that 8 months ago when i saw these videos. Ask yourself: "Why am i so scared?" Give yourself a second to breathe amd slow ypur heart and mind down just before the drill so you wont have a panic attack as i have been in and out of the ER for those. I hope this tip helps you bud! 😊

Laizy Tail I hope your tip will work for me. I am scared of fire drills and I need to overcome my fear. In my school we're suppose to have a fire drill on Feburary 21, 2020 follow by a lockdown drill. Hopefully your advice will work for me.

I had fire alarm anxiety all of my life but I still get anxiety about it here and there but i am learning how to control my anxiety when it happens like here is a good example my program has a big fire alarm system and every time it goes off I get verry very scared but i am learning how to control my fear of having a fire drill another good example is when i get a Mri scan i am scared of the noises but i also learned how to control it too
We never had our fire drill for November. It’s supposed to be cold and rainy the next couple days. They could have used earlier days in the month. Where I live, it was in the t0 and 60 degree mark, but we never had one. Maryland las even requires us to conduct a fire drill each month. We are not in compliance right now.

I wonder if they go by the clock on the fire alarm panel. If you notice your watch said it was 10:00 am but the annunciator (name for that panel in the arena) was still saying it was 9:38 and when you said maybe they were postponing it the display showed 9:42. Either the panel's click is slow or your watch is fast not sure which one though.
His watch is actually with the same time as the school's digital clocks like in this video here: ruclips.net/video/kF46flCmIvA/видео.html but not with the same time as with the fire alarm panel as it's slower and behind than his watch and the school's digital clocks

It was the G1R-HDVM or G1R-HOV30 going off. I'm surprised there aren't any EST Integrity signals outside the building.

Hello everyone. We have only had one or two fire drills all school year, when we should have done at least four by now. My teachers and principal don’t seem to care about it, but I did explain that it is required by NFPA to hold a fire drill once a month. But we are still not in compliance. Should I file a complaint with the NFPA or something? Thank you.
You should! I would if my school wasn’t in compliance. I never like it if my school doesn’t comply with safety regulations, and I would make sure they’re not missed.

Most schools like mine(Hilltop Elementary School, Aston, Pennsylvania) have to do a fire drill once a month(Like we did one December the 3rd which is today).
U need to have 1 every month
I got one every 1-2 months but changed this year to 1 a month

Stephen Bauer Think about it. If someone shouted in the middle of your sleep, wouldn’t that startle you? One of the purposes of the alarms is to alert you of a potentially dangerous situation. I completely agree that they can be very unpleasant. I’ve told my teacher and psychologist and they’re going to try to make them announced rather than unannounced. I think announced drills are better because people won’t be so panicked. To me, schools should have a voice system for alerting thousands of occupants. I don’t think this building is even up to code.

@@MrTylerNicole1 Announced fire drills can have slight disadvantages to. If you was to know when the drill was to take place. No one is going to take it seriously because they are automatically going to know it's just a drill, it kind of ruins the whole purpose if drills are going to be announced. Secondly, if a real situation occured, people may assume that it's just a drill.
