That’s happened in my school before as well. In my freshman year of high school, I was eating my lunch in the school cafeteria with all of the other students who were in there, and then the fire alarm began to go off. Everyone screamed with startle. I was the only one who didn’t scream. I was just startled, since my ears are so sensitive to loud and sudden noises. Because of my sensitive ears and constant fear, I have to be notified ahead of time that we were going to have a fire drill, about 10 minutes ahead of time. At the time, it was a bit calmer because the alarm at my school was a Simplex bell. Unfortunately, the bell was taken away and the school replaced it with one of those horrible screech alarms, since they were doing some renovations during our spring break. Once we got back, I looked at the walls and then at one of my classmates, and this is what I said to her... “something seems to be different around here, wouldn’t you agree?”, and she agreed with me. Once we looked at the wall, we both knew in an instant what was different...they had taken the bell away. I looked at my friend with horror and said this to her, “oh no...they replaced the bell with that horrible screech alarm.” Neither of us were thrilled about it, so then I had to go back to hearing the awful screech from the alarm all over again, which was one of the reasons why I was so scared to use the bathroom during class, when the halls were empty. Point is, everyone in the cafeteria screamed, but they didn’t run or do anything stupid. We all had to drop our lunches and then walk outside and wait under a tree. Because lunch and study hall were in the cafeteria, there were two separate groups outside...one for Study Hall, and the other for Lunch.

Well, the fire alarm isnt in trouble, the schools system like the horns are system sensors so there very high pitched and in code 3, not a fire bell bells are used mostly for fire suppression systems like when there triggered, haha and i love the guy who flipped his desk during what not to do during a fire drill hahaha great job!

One thing you could do is to just leave the building when the bell goes.That's what I do and I'm always the first one out of the room.When the bells went off at my school on the 21st June 2012 I just left the classroom when the bell went and I think I was the first person in the entire school to get out of the classroom, although one of my friends was walking somewhere from somewhere in school and she was outside when the bells went.If the teacher tells u off,get them sacked on safety grounds.

@schuminweb when you pull alarm it contacts the police and when schools in the city have fire drills, there all at the all schools do them at same time when you have it. it doesn't matter about the grade they just want you to practice for real fire.

To be honest I'm that person in class who tries to listen but all attention turns to something else quickly. So when we had a fire drill once, everybody got up within the first second but I actually kinda tuned it out for like 4 seconds but then I was like, Oh a fire drill XD. It took a while for me to react because I was very focused on probably a whiteboard doodle, because we have to have the pens in front of us, so my hand automatically takes the lid off and doodles and tunes out what the teacher is saying, so when its just a quiet canvas for me with what I think is my mind saying that its not real. then 4 seconds later and everybody is leaving and its a shouty mess outside and my friend reminds me I realise..

Whenever my school has a fire drill I try to be calm but mah brain is exploding XD I would run the heck out and yell but y'know teachers. In our school when a fire drill comes then we wait incase there is only one alarm. If there is the second, we start packing. And third is when we get out of the building. I watched this video because my teacher said that soon enough we are going to have a fire drill, for a person whos heart starts beating when the alarm is going off, I am panicking. XD I would laugh it off but seriously! The other time we had a fire drill they made it even more realistic! They added a smoke machine to the same floor our class was on. We had our English lesson. Aren't fire drills a little strange?
