- John Mayer performing a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Going To California" w/ a seque into Stop This Train; accompanied by pianist Brad Mehldau, live at The Hollywood Bowl, on Sunday August 22, 2010.
My apologies for the two major distractions/interruptions in the footage - the people in the box in front of us decided to return to their seats in the middle of the song (black-out screen), and then we had to alter our camera setup to keep their heads from coming in and out of the shot every time they decided to talk to each other.

Led Zeppelin is the greatest band ever and it is such a shame to see there are people that don't even know them. I guess the 60% of the present people there don't even know that John is actually blues

I was there! Almost lost my mind when I heard Led Zeppelin as the lead in for one of John's great tunes. Brad Mehldau was truly impressive in person. And it was his 40th birthday the next day!
Funny that most of his fans there don't even know the song or else they would have freaked after the first few words.

@FreddySeraf I saw him several years ago when he was on tour for Heavier Things. During a song, he started playing the opening riff to "Layla" and there was a collective "huh?" from the crowd. My point: John Mayer's music is great, but his fans aren't always well versed in the music that inspired him. Or to put it another way, too many of his fans are dumb sorority girls.
