For sure, it’s great to see teams focused the way they are! The Gentoo guys were really interesting and clearly on top of the game!

So excited for VG2024. Awesome walk-through & interview. Amazing machines. Interesting that they could add foils to Thompsons old boat. That had to be quite the engineering project.

Been following your bus building. Amazing skills on show. As an aircraft engineer I'm amazed at the technical advancement on these sailing boats. Didn't really understand what you two were saying, but I still enjoyed it. I'll keep watching and learning. Thanks

Hey Malcolm. Thanks fella, great to hear you watched it despite it not being your thing!
Yeah, the tech in these things is bonkers. Pretty amazing that one guy can sail it alone around the world ay!
See you in the next one! 👍

I think the furlers are KZ furlers from New Zealand. I have even seem them on race boats relabeled for sponsorship reasons. Many of the pros prefer them, while most cruisers have never heard of them. They are available for cruising boats and there isn't anything better or more confidence inspiring on the front of the boat.

I know the furlers, nice bits of kit for sure however these were definitely Karvers from France.

@@SailHub ok, though I have seen both Karver & Facnor labels on KZ's before.

IMOCA 60's are more like WRC cars. AC75's are the Formula 1 analog.

Kinda… apart from the single person aspect. 😉

      @@SailHub fair enough. But 1 person for 90 days....not 3 hours

Agreed! Let’s not read into it too much ay, it’s just a way of explaining they are at the top of their game. Just like the ac75’s are. It’s just a different game 👍
