    #1 Greatest running back ever! He did things not humanly possible. Quotes from some hall of fame players:
    "Don't let Barry make you do the Lords Prayer! That's when you go to grab him, you fall on your knees, clap your hands together...and he's gone."
    "You can put Barry in a phone booth with 11 defenders and it would take 2 minutes before anyone laid a finger on him."
    "When our defense was playing the Lions, no one (on offense) sat down on the bench. We all stood on our toes because we didn't wanna miss seeing Barry do something special."

    Barry didn't have the highest top speed (which is why he was often caught near the end zone on the long runs), but his acceleration and maneuverability have never been matched. Other great running backs are lucky to have 2 jukes in their whole career as good as he did any given game.

    Barry Sanders was only 5 foot 8 inches tall & he weighed 220 lb . Watch this video again & watch his stride , for someone as tall as he was . He had a long smooth stride . And don't forget that when Barry Sanders was in college at Oklahoma State , his senior year their were 4 games they didn't put him in until the 4th quarter & he still ran for over 200 yards .

    The other 2 guys are Jim Brown and Walter Payton. I'm from Detroit and Sanders is my favorite player, but Brown was still the best ever. He's the only guy in NFL history to average 100 yards a game and 5 yards a carry. Sanders came in just under that. Both of them retired to early. Jim Brown highlights are hard to find cause he played in the 60s
    Sanders has a front office role with the Lions now. And he's probably still the most capable running back in the building, even at his current age.

    the only guy that may compte for him is jim brown, his dad always said that. lol. only 2 guys to have averaged 5 yards per cary for an entire career. brown was simply a good runner who was a men among boys in terms of size and strength in the 50s and 60s, barry was far more exciting. i say barry is the best. if barry had the offensive line of the dallas cowboys he would have 2500-3000 yards seasons no doubt

  • @TrojanRabbit521
    @TrojanRabbit521 Год назад

    I was lucky enough to goto his college home games. It was insane that everyone knew he was getting the ball & he’d still set records.
    2 other RB’s Earl Cambell who has my favorite run. Juked lineman, trucked the linebacker then juked another LB then carried 2 safeties who ripped his jersey off.
    Walter Payton was THE greatest RB just a smidge stronger than Barry

  • @williamcapp448
    @williamcapp448 2 года назад

    If he had an offensive line like the backs ahead of him in yardage, his yardage would have vaulted him into first place for all time. The plays were set up to go right and because they couldn't block for him, he went left. In spite of that he was 3rd place all time. He had a lousy team. He never went to the Superbowl. He only played for ten years. Most backs took more years to get their totals. He averaged 1500 every year he played. He went to every pro bowl. He retired without a single injury.

  • @ghoulie11

    To me, Barry Sanders isn't the greatest player just because of his athletic and play reading abilities. What made him truly great was attitude. He didn't brag and showboat, he would score a touchdown after an all time highlight reel run and just hand the ball to ref while his teammates celebrated for him.

    Detroit Lions fan... Growing up watching Barry is a pleasure. He is one of the greatest running backs. He was incredibly humble. He would say that Jim Brown was the greatest RB. My opinion is Barry. Walter Payton, and Jim Brown are the greatest. Barry is the most elusive

      Hey Andrew thank you for stopping by, great to read your comment, and I have to agree with you even when I look back at this reaction & see how strong & fast he was running considering his body weight that is unreal man. Certain people seem to think they are other 2 greats, I don’t know man guess I’ll have to react to others to make my own conclusion.

    Barry is the best but here's a few running backs to look at.
    Marshawn Lynch
    Bo Jackson
    Emit smith
    Derick Henry
    Jerome bettis
    Christian okoia
    Mike alstot
    O.j.simpson
    Christian McCaffrey
    Earl Campbell
    Hershel Walker
    Walter Payton

    Those other 2 , you can watch their greatest highlights film in about 2mins each. Those who say walter was the best is laughable , barry averaged a half a yard per carry more for good reason and behind a shit oline. The tape dont lie.
    The funny thing is Barry has about another 30 runs that should be in these highlights, some of them are better than what are on here.

  • @rjohnson993

    You follow "football" football... So it's like asking "who is the best striker"? Some guys play on better teams so they have more trophies. Or the style of team suits them... counter-attack, build up play, possession... Others just score mostly volleys, and one touch shots, others also pass well, dribble, have deceptive skills and so on. Some are really good AND spectacular where others are more "efficient."
    For American football and Running Backs there are a few guys in the conversation as best ever for different reasons. Emmit Smith, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Gale Sayers O.J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson... Some hyper critical types point out that Sanders was tackled for a loss or wasn't always good in short yardage power plays... I still put him, Barry, #1 all time though.

      only becasue barry walked away from the game 4 years before his contract ended. he would have had 20,000 yards easy by than. never would have been caught, and played on the worst team and still did all this

    • @jakeand9020
      @jakeand9020 Год назад +1

      Sanders was only 3000 yards short of Smith's record, and he got there in half the time. Barry retired at only 30 and was healthy, he had over 1400 yards his last year, and averaged over 1500 a season.
      If he'd played three more years we'd be saying Emmit who?
