Great video, Mark, I love watching you sight cast those beautiful reds! Those kinds of days really make up for the days where everything else seems to go wrong! Take care and be safe! Anxiously awaiting your next video!
i always stop before crossing the bridge right there. Its also a very good place to flounder gig on low tide calm nights, and amazing place for mud minnows with traps
Love the video! I’m thinking of getting me a kayak but not sure where to find the good areas to fish at. When I do get one I’m going to get the top of the line and get one that I don’t have to paddle all day long to get somewhere! Lol I like the ones that has a good trolling motor!
@@MDLRFishing I’ve been making my own baits and want to get out on the water and try them out. The wife thinks a boat is to much so I’m going to start out by getting a kayak and go from there! I’ll have to convince her later! Lol
You may have videos in the past, archived in your channel, but would you consider doing some bass fishing? gar fishing? You may have addressed this in the past - sorry if this is a repetitive question.
I used to bass fish but the majority of my audience only watches saltwater videos. It's not cost effective to drive two hours or so for several hundred views. When given the opportunity I do try to fish for bass.
Great day of fishing for a species on my bucket list. Being in Colorado we don't see many of those😜. I, as one who has never fished for them, ask why you don't blind cast. Or is it just that it is more fun to sight fish? We ( my son and I ) don't Kayak fish but do a lot of float tubing and I've always wondered if that would work down there. Again a great video, thanks.
9:58; ohhh ok yah I had been wondering why you hadn’t been doing your kayak videos as much lately. And also I hadn’t been out in a while. Didn’t realize the marshes had “dried up” per se as you mentioned there. But I mean shoot, been making great jetty videos too!
i thought you could still catch and release flounders? I am mean if one bites it’s not like the warden’s going to hunt you down as long you release it?😅
Bought an Old Towne pedal kayak last year after watching your channel and only in Central Texas fresh water so far. Where did you put in at in Galveston area? Thanks for these wonderful videos!
lots of places to put in! Plus also they have readily available maps online of specific kayak ramps versus regular boat ramps. And since it’s a kayak, lots of spots you can just pull over on the side of the road and put in too. But yah MDLR goes everywhere in Galveston and Freeport, so, there’s just too many to name. But again, fortunately, online boat ramp amd or kayak ramp maps!
I'm so mad that you're catching and not keeping fish. The fishing where I Iive isn't good. Do you know I wish we had good fishing here. I live in Florida.
South padre has way better fishing. The laguna madre is crystal clear in most area, with a healthy vegetation hosting all kinds of species. We have healthy, sheeppshead, snook, and mangrove snapper fishing in the bays and channels. As well as the basic flounder, trout, reds, and black drum. Honorable mention our jetties are far more superior. We can catch kingfish, triple tails, red snapper, cobia from the rocks. Oh and let's not forget the unbelievable tarpon fishing!
I just wanted you to know your channel is my favorite inshore saltwater hangout. Keep up the good work!
Appreciate that! Glad you enjoy the content 👍
Looks like you had a good day in your ole faithful spot. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to see it bouncing back. Thanks for watching bro 🤙.
So beautiful peaceful place for casting

Thanks brother 👍
@@MDLRFishing I’m from that area originally. I fish offshore there with GPB. Can I hire you as a guide please?
@@robertmartin265 thanks for the consideration but I’m not actively guiding right now.
Thanks for the updates
I miss Texas fishing!

Some nice catches Mark glad you found the area it is a gold mine. We also used to catch all of our bait in the same area, mud minnows and live shrimp.
Thanks 👍

I do a lot of blind casting when the water is stirred up and murky.
Slayin' those Red's! Great vid. Please fix your push-pull stick. ;) That loose duct tape always triggers me.
😂

Yeah I have been doing pretty subpar in the marshes. Glad it seems to be getting better.
Great Video! Which kayak push/stake out pole are you using?
Yak Gear I think, can’t remember for sure.
Do you share any bank fishing spots for the many of us who don't own boats or kayaks?
i thought you could still catch and release flounders? I am mean if one bites it’s not like the warden’s going to hunt you down as long you release it?😅
Yes very true. I’m not going to specifically target them but if they bite… well, I won’t be heartbroken 😉.

@@nozrep thanks for the info and gonna check it out
Drive by that all the time and never thought to fish in there. Is it shallow enough to wade fish?
What tides are going for marsh fishing ?
What fish finder do you have on your kayak? Looking to get one for my autopilot as well.
Humminbird Helix 7

You live in Florida and you're saying the fishing isn't good? What? Florida is the capital of both Fresh and Saltwater fishing 😂 get better at it!
Yeah like i live in Florida and I catch everything!😂
Why aren't you keeping fish today? Are you fishing for the sport of fishing?
Feel free to watch my cooking playlist.
Dont care what anyone says, we have the best fishing here at Galveston 😊
Were os this place at I go to Galveston every week different spots and only cought 1 nice black drum fish this whole year 😡
