Such a useful video Liz! I am so guilty of this. I was always getting FOMO and thinking this one product will change my routine forever. Lol. How wrong I was! Also as a wavy I realised I don't need so many products. Just a leave-in works great! Now I just do shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. I like your day 3 curls more than day 1 curls cause I'm a big fan of the soft curls look.
literally had a shampoo the curly one from truth and hair overmoisturise my hair just yesterday bc I bought it after seeing a few reviews (and my shampoo before that, moxie shampoo, seemed to leave my roots slightly dry but that was preferable to this tbh) including from ppl w hair type similar to me in porosity and curl texture..
also sucks bc I actually liked the bottle which I found easy to dispense shampoo from (only moxie shampoo packaging compares imo) and it smells nice, so the disappointment only was with the results. I think maybe this shampoo would be useful for me to use after I use more drying clarifying shampoos or in case protein overload happens to my hair.
there you go! you already have good ideas on how to repurpose this product. If you’re interested I teach you how to choose products based on your texture and it has nothing to do with blogger reviews. I offer 1:1 hair consultations where I'll analyze your hair type, texture, and current routine, and provide tailored advice on products, techniques, and styling tips to help you maintain your natural hair. Would you be interested in learning more about this service? Alternatively, you can also just get my products guide where all tried and tested products (both indian and international) are categorized according to texture. This 67-pager PDF is regularly updated with new products in the market and also regulated based on industry news (for example, the brand Mielle was in a recent hair-loss controversy) You can check more information about it on my website. your hair is so pretty! i have recently been getting into a curly hair routine but my biggest problem is how frizzy it becomes after sleeping. i'm doing a pineapple ponytail and that keeps the outer layer of my hair ok but inner layer still become frizzy. what can i do to prevent this?
hey! (1) its recent you said? so ill say give it more time for your hair to evolve, and repair itself from all the wats its been treated in the past? (2) I never pineapple my hair! My hair has seen all lengths, from pixie to bra strap, and pineapple just ruins it for me so i suggest you stop doing that. Use a bonnet instead and just plop into your bonnet, deal with it in the morning. This reminds me I should show you how i do my night time routine! So you’ll have a visual on how to do it. Thanks for asking me! (3) when hair is frizzy in the morning you could either focus on your washday and get it right, because then you’ll wake up with good day for at atleast 2-3 days! Since you are relatively new to curly hair care, my online curly hair course would be very helpful for you. You could do that at your own pace to understand the basics, and get your foundation right, so that you don’t have to deal with frizzy hair every morning! Here’s the course link- check it out? honestliz.com/curly-hair-course/
@@HonestLiz thank you so much for the tips! i have found some silk bonnets that i think will help when i use them. also thank you for the link to the course, it seems very helpful and i will think about buying it!
I find that if I pineapple, it really irritates my scalp right below where I tied the scrunchie so I stopped tbh. Sometimes idk why I only use silk pillowcase not a bonnet but sometimes my hair even had more curl definition the next morning after that than when I styled it
I think at this stage Im just trying to find products that work, but I think I should pause this a bit because I already figured out a good gel for my hair that works, and an okay mostly good shampoo. I find shampoo very make or break sometimes bc two shampoos Ive tried, one ot even cg, literally overmoisturised my hair. I don't have this problem even with conditioner or deep conditioner and I think thats bc my ends and mids actually have some dryness but my roots don't need much moisture (also my roots were not color processed) and I have low porosity hair. I do only plan to try ashba right ringlets leave in because I find the scent of the moxie curl cream I use rather annoying and it also makes my hair feel stringy sometimes and I want something more lightweight that doesn't make my hair feel vaguely greasy
I had to replace my old gel because a month or so ago no matter what I tried my curlvana gel remained sticky and didn't dry. I often got moisture overload and using a shampoo once called hairex shampoo gave me awful moisture overload that took a good few wash days to go away. But idk if it was humidity or what but I had to switch to a hard hold gel because the curlvana gel was not drying into a cast no matter what. it remained sticky, even if I didn't deep condition, even if I didn't use a leave in before it, etc.
I have low porosity hair and I wouldn’t use hair products with high amounts of protein nor silicone. The brands you mentioned here have both - let me know how it goes for you🙂
I feel like unfortunately some curly products made by foreign companies are just not available in india or are extremely expensive on amazon.. but I feel like some of the indian curly hair brands can be pretty good or at least it depends on the products and your hair type
