Thanks Harry!!! I’ve been interested in building a monolithic dome for years now. I’ve studied a lot about them, but I still picked up some new things watching this video. I especially liked that patio cistern build. I would never have thought of such. My area (Mississippi) is subject to droughts in the summer months. I like redundancy in important systems. They won't let that happen. Think about it a dome home makes the most sense so why aren't they building that way? They need problems sorry but it's true. @@AircreteHarry Yes, but that can probably change in time.. The color "blue" refers to a specific range of wavelengths in the visible spectrum, roughly between 450 and 495 nanometers. Whether a laser can penetrate a blue surface or any surface, in general, depends on the following considerations: Wavelength: The choice of laser wavelength is critical. Different materials absorb and transmit light differently depending on its wavelength. If the laser's wavelength matches the absorption characteristics of the material, it is more likely to penetrate and interact with the surface. Optical Properties: The surface material's optical properties, such as its reflectivity, transparency, and absorbance, play a significant role. Some materials may reflect or scatter the laser beam, while others may absorb it, causing heating and potentially penetration. Laser Power: The power of the laser beam is essential. Higher power lasers deliver more energy per unit time, which can increase their ability to penetrate surfaces. Low-power lasers may not have enough energy to penetrate even relatively transparent materials. Material Thickness: The thickness of the blue surface also matters. Thicker materials require more energy to penetrate, and the laser's power may need to be adjusted accordingly. Coating or Protective Layers: If the blue surface has coatings or protective layers that are specifically designed to block or absorb laser light, it may be more resistant to penetration. Angle of Incidence: The angle at which the laser beam hits the surface can affect its ability to penetrate. A shallow angle may lead to more reflection, while a perpendicular angle may increase the chances of penetration... I do remember you did test the heat once. I think you had a blowtouch in for some time, with no penatration damage. laser weapons can achieve very high temperatures, often in the thousands of degrees Celsius or more, depending on the specific design and parameters of the weapon.
Rust is mitigated by having the rebar completely encased in concrete. EM interference shouldn't be a problem with concrete reinforcement, should it? It's not even close to a continuous coverage. They do mention basalt in there, but in the context of the EcoShells, not the monolithic structures.
