Planning a UP trip in early October and was looking up videos for ideas. Found yours. Thanks. Just a comment about how much I enjoyed watching you interact with your daughter. I have two (in their 20s now, one married and out of state). I know you’ve heard this many times but you will cherish those memories forever. I still remember times spent traveling way kids and it was such a blessing. Your video reminded me. Seems like yesterday. Have fun!
Ha, my parents and I took our Jeeps to Paradise, MI, and up to Crisp Point about a month ago. If you follow the GPS, it takes you down some gnarly two track turned swamp just east of Bodi Lake. I went for it, foolishly. Fortunately they were able to pull me out, after a brief panic... Great to see the trip. Cheers. And you ain't wrong about the bugs.
Digging the content! Stumbled on your vids today. Was just at Crisp Point this past weekend. Didn't even know about the larger onX trail loop mentioned!
Thanks for watching! And the YAT is a newer trail system developed by the Mitten State Tours group. Good route. Be sure to subscribe for more adventures!
Just spent the morning with my 15 year old boy in the Firetruck (what we've named the Gladiator), driving West Camino Cielo outside of Santa Barbara, CA. For some reason, I feel like you've driven it too. Nothing, difficult, but there's a couple of optional spots that make it well worth it. Love spending time out in the world like that.
Great video! Nothing more fun than an adventure with kids. Mine all grew up doing this kind of thing in our Jeeps. Quick question...Why the Rugged Ridge rear fender liners? Do they give better protection than the factory liners?
It’s because I upgraded to KBD fenders and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of cutting the original ones to fit the new KBDs. Easier to slap something pre fabricated and cheap in there. And I try to take my daughter on as many trips as possible. Definitely gets a lot harder during the school year.
Hey, wanted to say I really enjoyed your video cool that you got out with your daughter and she’s enjoying the outdoors. I was actually up in the musining area and 2014. And now planning on revisiting this coming September question for you I have a jeep Wrangler on 35s and I have a Smitty built trailer. I’m planning on bringing along with me. Do you think it be a problem on the trails? Thanks in advance.
For the YAT you would be totally fine bringing your trailer along. The only issue you may have is if you miss a turn and need to back up the trailer on the trail. I know some of those smaller trailers jackknife pretty easily.
Are there any spots along this trail that would be difficult towing a small trailer? I have a ModBug 10RK, but I worry I may get stuck on a two track somewhere.
I wouldn’t worried about getting stuck as it’s not a hard trail. Especially if you have a winch. I would worry more about narrow trails and backing up the trailer on the trail when you inevitably make a wrong turn.
@TheYankeeh8r no problem! I have a homemade overland trailer but I usually use it mostly as a base camp if I’m going to be in one spot for several nights.
What device are you using for maps? Just an ipad or something else? Also, any of those trails not drivable for a full size superduty? Love the content with your daughter, very special.
The device is an iPad mini and I think you potentially could do it in a super duty. Definitely gonna get into some tight spots and will get pin stripping.
@@TrailExpeditionI live in the Grand Rapids area and hope to get to the UP more. Do you often have issues finding diesel stations or was this abnormal? I'm still deciding between a gasser and diesel truck.
@mattwlane the only time I ever had a problem finding diesel was on this upper peninsula trip. I usually carry two extra gallons in the back of my jeep, just in case! I don’t regret the diesel at all as it’s been an awesome platform.
The trail looks peaceful and fun… but the highlight of the video is definitely the joy and laughter between you and your kiddo! Love it dude!
Heck yeah bro! The adventures with my daughter are my favorite ones to watch!
@ she’ll have an immense appreciation for them years from now. That’s a gift that’ll pay dividends for a long time. Bravo brother
@AdventuresOfRogersAndHenderson agreed! Essentially they are home videos that she’ll have forever ❤️

Thank you for the kind words. My favorite videos to watch are the ones I get to spend with my daughter. These years are going by way too fast..

Glad you got out! It was relatively dry while we were there. The black flies and mosquitoes are next level horrible!
Such a fun trip!! Glad you took us along for the ride!! ❤❤❤
Welcome! Thanks for watching!
@@TrailExpedition 🤗🤗🎉🎉🎉
Nothing gives me more joy than people discovering Crisp Point for the first time.
It’s definitely a cool area 😎
Back in the day you had to walk to the light house, about 300yards!
Times have definitely changed!
It's great trip with daughter!!
Awesome upper trails.
Thanks for sharing video^_^
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
I love your trips with Quinn. What great memories you’re making.
They’re some of my favorite!
What a joy to watch your lucky man.
I definitely am! Thanks for watching!

@@TrailExpedition thanks for the reply. Maybe we'll see each other on the trail sometime!
@JSmithLM7 definitely a possibility!
Awsome video!
Thank you!

Wasn’t me as I’ve never wheeled Cali. It’s on my bucket list though. And time spent with family is never wasted time.
Awesome video 👍, we're heading UP next weekend. 7 hr plane crash 1st half then Munising the second half.
Nice! Got a video out on that one too!
@@TrailExpedition Gotta find that abandoned mine you went to on that trip.
@@WarthogOverland they had one up there they offer tours of but we just missed it.

Another great video. We love the UP. There’s so much to see. Have you ever a been to Kitch-Iti-Kipi?
I’ve been there a few years ago. Cool spot!

Seems silly onx doesn’t have all those custom trails available right on the app
I know right. However, it is relatively new and it is nice that you can download the route into OnX.
Where can you download the gpx file?
On the Mitten State Tours Facebook group.
