I suggest to do the load test; that is, testing of mobility and fuel consumption under full load. this is important, as these ATVs are going to be loaded in use, so testing them when full is important.
I think it depends on the environment you run in primarily.. A tracked amphibious atv is master of the swamps, wetlands, and surrounding forest. Articulated frame and solid frame with oversize low pressure tires are better off for more flat cross country with deeper lakes, rivers and streams that you need to cross. In my opinion when it comes to heavily wooded areas and steep hills with the occasional stream crossing go for a Rokon 2x2. But if you just want an every day work horse, a utility side by side with mechanical (not cv belt) transmission will get the job done relyably every time and you might have fun doing it too.
Interesting videos. Would be interested in seeing how the German WW2 Ketterngrad tracked ATV motorcycle would do, as it was ment to be for rapid deployment of specialist infantry troops
Maybe the comparison of the Tinger Armour and Tinger Track would be better, since there would be little difference, just that they have wheels and tracks respectively. This would make it a more fair comparison.
The wheeled vehicle would have done alot better if it had posi traction. What happened to the engine on the tracked vehicle? Should have been easily restarted.
The US Military used to have a vehicle similar to the wheeled ATV called the Gamma Goat. Biggest piece of shit equipment the military ever came up with. Totally worthless. Tracked vehicles win every time.
