Need a head to head with the SHERP video.
Yea, it looks practically identical to the SHERP... except the articulating front is different.. and It would seem these have a higher top speed and more torque.. but I'm just going basing it off the visuals of this video. I thought the TS of the SHERP was like 25 MPH and 4 MPH in water.. where this is like 45 MPH on land and 6 MPH in water... I might be wrong on that though.. don't quote me. Can't beat the cost of this competitor though.. Iv seen listings for over 120k for a SHERP.. althought that might be a pimped out model or something.. but still
@@JoshJos-Shwa pretty sure it said 45 km on land and 6km on water which would put it right at Sherp speeds. Could be wrong....
It seems much larger than a Sherp so probably wouldn't be a like for like comparison but interesting nonetheless.
The articulation will certainly help in some difficult situations but more importantly I think it helps make it much more drivable in long turns as the Sherp has to ride permanently on the brakes when faced with long bends or winding roads. The Sherp is probably best adapted to situations with no path of any kind where you are either charging straight ahead regardless of anything or on extremely rough terrain.
@Zhou Zay Their two different ATV's made by different companies. Sherp's made in the Ukraine. Shatun made in Russia.
Yeah, they look pretty same.
Well engineered, Japanese diesel, large interior, the price seems reasonable for sure, In Canada there are many companies that operate in the north during winter that would favor a machine like this
Welllllllll see now we are looking to buy a BV206 or a sherp ark interesting you say about replacing a hagglund? What upside do you see in doing that all info is appreciated ?
I’m led to Believe the Sherps can have plows mounted from factory or aftermarket. However it’s the hill climbing/ ditch traversing that’s putting me off ? How is the hagglund in the water?
Just tell me.. what is the best one,, and i,ll go buy it.. alaska
@@user-hv8tr3yx8y There is no best one. Just take your time and learn about all the types available, the features, plus and minus of each, then after considering what YOU want to do with it, THEN you'll be able to chose the best one for you.
Excellent overview! Thanks for Sharing
The articulation doesn’t seem to add significant maneuverability but does add a probable breaking point.
That's exactly what I was thinking. If it articulates, it will break
IMHO it helps a lot to reduce wear and overheating of the brakes. Neither the Shatun nor the Sherp have hydrostatic drive which means that without articulation the only way to go in anything but a straight line is to drag the brakes on one side. For small maneuvers it's not a problem but on lengthy paths that are constantly curving I think it can become an issue.
The Shatun's articulation is of course a potential point of failure but at the same time if it fails it just becomes unarticulated like the Sherp always is and can still proceed since it also has brake steering. At worst one would need to put in some locking bar to lock it straight ahead if the hydraulic cylinder fails. It should probably be provided as standard equipment but if not it is quite easy to make one and wouldn't occupy significant storage space.
You obviously have never seen a tree harvester (skidder) all are articulated and I have never seen a broken one how many trucks have you seen broken in the bush
Disagree... That articulation may not look like much, but it adds a great deal to maneuverability. It's not a high maintenance system either.
Wow!!! Cheaper than the Sherp & the New Fat-Truck!!! And it articulates as well, seems 2-B-A good deal.
maybe but Fat-Truck is made in canada so a north american maker thus easier to get parts if your un canada or usa no description or link to where this is being made so maybe good price but if repairs and parts are hard to get the cost is greatly increased during maintenance
@@benjigreystone I live in Canada but I would buy 2 of these for the same money and you have a parts machine then if it came to that.
The Fat Truck is a lot slower. This thing just dives into the water like nothing.
I guess reliability and durability will remain to be seen but I think Russians tend to build stuff on the heavy duty side.
60k is a great price. Nothing you can buy touches this type of capability.
What the F? Its just 60k? U mean usd?
60k usd is EXPENSIVE
@@mraidenjohn451 but a Sherp is 130 and a fat truck or whatever is like 120 these trucks are expensive
@@mraidenjohn451 fat truck is double the price.
Awesome performance. Respect.
Nice it does. Would love one of these in the Canadian North
Really impressive that lake test !
Yup.... I could see myself using one of these on the show.
Yup, I like it! 👍
Very cool!
What an adorable vehicle ❤️❤️❤️
wow, I can't see any way to improve it, you have some great stuff there in Rus friend...doug (Canada)
Thanks my friend!
Awesome best ATVs, i would get only one of this Shatun or Sherp if i need a true best top-notch king of 4x4, money down a drain from 70k up to 120k on raptor or ranger with fully offroad upgrades such a low-end americano rusty junk.
I could improve it. To start with. Basic brush guards, then some over the top LED floods and spots. I could think of more I suppose.
only way to improve is to be the first gas engine model with highway speeds (60+)😂
I want to drive one of these around listening to Rammstein! 😀
Oh Hell Yeah!
feuer frei
Pack of wolves running along side...😬
while listening to THE Hu -Wolf Totem??
Why you use Borat as narrator?
Lmfao
Lol
Our icehole the deepest icehole in all of Kazakhstan
Love it. Expensive but worth the money.
Looks interesting however what’s it fuel capacity and range, metric for us please
Awesome video
Mighty impressive
Very good value excellent
they have a website? love to visit.
Where can you get one of these machines
I need one. I have no idea why, but I still need one. Maybe they'll make a compatable trailer too.
This just “Shatun” the competition.
Nice SHERP yo🤨
SHERP HAS COMPETITION, serious competition!
The dual body, expandable, the driving wheel, the price, the tyres, inflation, automatic transmission...all are good improvements over Sherp. I would like to see a torture test of the two...esp on loose fresh snow incline...where Sherp meets its Waterloo.
The video, editing and info is first class and very professional.
Please do some more videos.
Please have a look at the new sherp. They also improved a lot, so a direct comparison would be very interesting.
impressive
It certainly looks like a fantastic machine ......I have seen the Shep get stuck in 2 different scenarios , the physics did it . Would like to see if Shatun would do . Next " James Bond " mode tires ....the ability to change the tire tread . The price is great ....If I remember right it is about half of the Shep . about how many miles can it go ?
10:47 LOL, I think that car could be in reverse with no difference!!
Underrated 😅
What does Ostacruiser think about this unit??
Yes Sharpe is nice but never heard if it has adversave maneuvers with alternate escape access like a skid steer or Excavator
is there a way to get a Sherp in Canada?
Where buy?
Like 🙋🏻♀️ 😍 😍
Interesting machine, competitive pricing, but once again the question remains: how does it handle in 3 feet of deep fresh snow (no tracks), uphill or side-hilling ?
Not really, it's been proven a thousand times that tracks are better than wheels on deep snow!
I keep asking one of the questions, how well dose the machine handle hills, all I ever see is flat marshy land, nothing hilly at all. But they do look very cool.
Glad to see the steering wheel on the correct side of the vehicle.
Haha, I feel you. British counterpart will most likely disagree
The right steering is on the left? WTF?! The right steering is on the right position.
It’s on the wrong side dude. Right is best
Very nice 👌👍죽인다~대박
The ultimate apocaliptic offroad survival vehicles!🌍🌎🌏🏔⛰🧭🌋🗻🏕🏜🏝🏞👈😎👍
Man i wish i had thw disposable income to buy this joker ! Badass equipment!
What are those prices?
How well does it go up steep snow covered mountains?
Not a problem till the snow gets too deep then you need tracks like a snow cat!
I want 2 right now. Someone show and tell me where a dealer is
Very cool. I wonder how it would hold up against a SHERP?
The tyre of SHERP is the main foindation of its incredible success. I do not know but whoever designed and manufactured that power must have thought and conceived the idea beautifully in such a way that the vehicle has close affiliation with harsh nature. Wow!!!! My country India needs such vehicle urgently especially Indian Army with China disturbing India a lot.
Поставил лайк только за акцент 👍🍷🤝 Супер. Почти так же круто, как в ролике Почему русские не болеют коронавирусом.
Good video and yes its over priced for a vehicle you have to trailer to the bush as it has low road speed
Overpriced? SHERP is about $120000!!!
Its not overpriced and its a highly specialised vehicle that can go basically everywhere
little bit better for cross-country ability, during the turn all wheels are works, no need to block the wheels from the inside of the turn
I hope it will be marketed in Indonesia to be rescue vehicle. love this so much
My dream a machine! Man the Russian off-road equipment is so amazing!!!
Has it got a heating system?Looks insane!well done.
That's a silly question
@@hkrsescort sadly there are lots of silly people out there ;)
Dear American Friends: The Sherp is also a Russian design which first debuted in 2012. These have all been an evolution of design since Bombardier built halftrack non floating versions way back before WW2 So really no one stole any American design LOL. It is a good video showing older and newer versions. I especially liked the honesty when they ran over the tree. The Russians have come a long way from the days when they would cover up any boo boo like that.
Perfect 4x4, it only needs a front-heavy body upgrade of some kind, not aluminum, so it can break trees better.
LOL, why is the W there with no lift no MT tires, people are nutz.
If the axles were vertically articulated, this would possibly, be the best, non tracked 4x4 atv, especially for rough, and/or muddy, terrain.
You need a twin stick transfer case. Then you can disconnect the rear and do what is called a dig. Lock right rear brake turn right with the front drive only. This causes a much tighter turn then skidder steer
It’s a survivalist machine !
I want one.
These things are awesome but I'd like to see one passing a vehicle going the other way on an alpine pass. I didn't hear the width at any point, I heard the ground clearance length and weight.
You don't pass, drive over!
SO BAD ASS!!!!
Where can you buy this in the USA? Can you buy this in the USA?
can this float without throttling?
It can float when it's not throttling and even if it's tires where all flat.
I want 2 of these
Impressive machine but l would be worried about the durability of the rubber flexi section between the body sections and also the hydraulics themselves.
Why, CV boots last for years and years with way harsher usage and hydraulics have been used in the Arctic for 50 years, it's old proven tech.
For commercial use, that's not a bad price. For a private toy, it's considerably more than most would want to pay, unless the buyer is considerably wealthy. The articulated axles should make it better than a Sherpa, on rough terrain, with all 4 wheels being in contact with the ground, or surface, at all times.
Price sounds fair it should have a brush guard of some kind to protect the light's
I like the whole concept of these type of vehicles. It should not break at a low speed by hitting a sapling. That is no points. Things like lights and mirrors should be protected very well as you not gonna get a spare part in the middle of Siberia. How about a Drone spare part delivery system.
Maybe I'm seeing things, but on at least two of them it looked like they were rusty in places. That could be an issue in the long run I would think.
I'm surprised that they don't have some heavy duty brush guards on them. The fender issue would have been avoided.
It looked like this thing was called SHAT ONE at first
Suitable for Mars exploration!
Bombardier needs to look into a floating ATV... Canadian Bombardier has made planes trains, all types of ATV"s and preforming types of craft
Hydraulics in the north are a concern. Lines with fluid in them freeze or leak. Good luck if you are 100 km in the bush with no support. I'd rather depend on a dog team and sled.
Love the ATV hate the price!
Check out the others like Fat Truck and Sherp. You can get 2 of these for the price of one of those.
Joe Hopkins University??? Try to look that up!
Comment relates to the ad that pops up about Starscope Monocular.
1º AG 20...2º Sherp...3º Shatun...
I still want a Sherp but I was just thinking the more competition the better... let's get these things down from one hundred thousand or so down to sixty thousand or so... then I read the comments and apparently these are 60k? Heck yea
You can never escape mine Icehole
I like the steering wheel much better, but the front and rear windows need wipers and defrost. The articulation would be a serious heat leak in the winter as well as something complicated and necessary that can go wrong. The interior is more spartan than the Sherp. The "Fat Truck" Canadian built replica has a joystick, much better roll cage protection on the outside and other improvements, it also has a very reliable Cat Diesel motor, but is more money. The competition should bring down the price and usher in improvements.
I think that the price is too high.
Great machine!!!
Be nice to stud the tires
So it's basically a western version of the sherp
If you buy one you just as well get two. If you ever get stuck with one, nothing but another one would get close enough to help you out.
I like shatun vehicles just do it now
Wait, 44BHP?
60 grand seems like a lot for a chain drive ATV. I really like this ATV but at those prices only people with very deep pockets or money to throw around will be able to purchase one.
There is a new version of the original WW2 military jeep being produced in The USA I believe it's called a Roxor but not sure of the name and it's almost as go anywhere as these type ATVs and not even 1/3 of the price.
I thought your ATV got comfortable seat for long drive.
For the unaware Bombardier makes the ROTEX engine mostly known as Can-Am
I think Sherp is more durable than this...the articulate hydraulic system will breakdown first.
I thought these were sherps :$
Hydraulic articulated steering has been around for heavy equipment for decades so id say its tested and proved. Looks to me this one also can be skid steered just like a sherp so even if it breaks down you prob can drive out anyway.
Our Rollagon never broke...
No, definitely don’t agree with you on that one. Can also be skid steered so it is only an advantage
It’s to escape from an ice hole! Wait till u rip that rubber between cabs!!!
I noticed the advanced rust around the headlights and fenders. That is a bad sign.
out standing
Price seems fair to me.
I would buy one for 60K I think that is a great price for the vehicle not too crazy.
Now make it fly
I'd buy for that price. Competitors are 2x+ that price
Винни гоу ту зе ребіт))
If it don’t got the extra gas tanks in the wheels. I don’t want it. Even if it could fly.
Let's see it pull out a stuck Chevy😂😂😭
It's a boat tow truck shelter on and off roader and could probably carry a large plow 60000 good price
60k usd ill take one..
