- This is the SHERP N 1200, and it just might be the craziest, most hardcore off-world car in the world!
Now based on performance stats alone, you may not think the SHERP sounds that impressive. After all, it’s powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that can produce 55hp and 190Nm of torque. In terms of weight, it also comes in at around 2,200kg.
However, don’t let the stats deceive you - the SHERP can handle even the hardest of off-road terrains… So of course, Mat’s going to put it to the test!
We’ve lined up a series of four challenges for Mat to put the SHERP through. It’ll start off with a muddy trail with deep ruts, followed by driving over a field that’s covered in logs and tree stumps. Following that it’ll be put to the test on a lake where it can FLOAT on water, and finally it’ll drive up a hill covered in boulders!
The ability of this vehicle has to be seen to be believed! The only question is, will Mat break it?! You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself!

I saw such off-road vehicles in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, basically the Carpathian mountains region of Ukraine, and they are commonly used by emergency services to rescue people

I traveled as a passenger in such a car, in Kyiv. There was an experienced driver and an unusual track. He drove fast and over a difficult stretch of road. And I will say it was just amazing! I'm still very impressed! I recommend to all!

Mat is driving a 150k UTV that he has never touched before. Obviously, the guy is making sure that everything is done in order and that the vehicle isn't damaged. He was laughing, was accurate in his instructions and seemed like an overall professional - even when Mat almost tipped the entire thing. Seemed like a good lad to me.

I believe it's started as a russo-Ukrainian project under the name of Sherp. Then, the Crimea and Donbas stuff happened, and Ukraine kept developing it, though I've heard the russians wanted to keep the work going on, too. Don't know if they succeeded. Good to know my country did not bury this project. And I am REALLY surprised you have that wheel tank in the UK. Well, I thought it was a vehicle for rich guys just to have fun. When I saw it a couple of weeks ago saving people after Kahovka dam catastrophe, I was surprised again. It works. It saves. And we, Ukraine, do have them. And now this video. Thanks for it, btw! Nice one!
P.S.: Now I have a bunch of American videos about this vehicle in my YT recommendations. LOL! Really didn't know it was popular in the world.

"Sherp" was constructed on the basis of an all-terrain vehicle developed by the St. Petersburg Russian engineer-inventor Alexey Garagashyan . The company "Sherp" was created by Russian businessman Sergey Samokhvalov and entrepreneur from Ukraine Vladimir Shkolnik, who acquired the rights to manufacture an all-terrain vehicle from a St. Petersburg engineer-inventor. To date, the production of machines has been established in Kiev and St. Petersburg.

I've been given a ride by a Sherp pro on a show. He drove like crazy. That was the most extreme off-road ride I've ever had! By the way, this thing can climb the trees))) almost vertical!

So Sherp is Ukraine now? Back in 2016 Top Gear reviewed the ATV and it was made in Saint Petersburg

Center armrest would help occupant balance and bracing.
An automatic transmission and glass sunroof would be nice option
A luggage rack exoskeleton along the side would also make for an excellent mounting point for supplmental positive bouncy. Redundancy for floatation in deeper water.
This is working vehicle first of all, it *has* to be manual, as going places it isn't meant to go is literally it's job
