      even if you had a 4K screen, unless it was larger than 24-25 inches you wouldn't see a different anyway. And you wouldn't see a difference between 4K and 1440P until you got over 32" for a desktop monitor. 4K is marketing hype that doesn't actually do much, or have any tangible benefits over better gaming resolutions, and the second something on the screen starts moving, due to the lower frame rates from the higher resolution you will lose all that sharpness even if you had a screen big enough to notice it.

    • @ulfrinn8783
      @ulfrinn8783 3 года назад +4

      @Thomas L It depends on the size of the monitor, and the viewing distance. People may lean in to see the difference and be like "yeah, that's sharper" but in actual use, in actual viewing distance you're not going to notice a difference between 4K and 1080P in a 25" screen, or 1440P and 4K in a 32" or smaller screen. 4K is mostly hyped up and advertised to sell televisions. And when enough people have 4K televisions they'll be making the same claims and hypes about 8K, then 16K.

      I have both 1x and I got the series s also have a ps4pro and I must say my favourite is the 1x as it does 4k60fps in xbox 1x enhanced games and 4o backward compatibility which u dont get in the series s....I like the quick resume and the ssd and the fps and auto hdr on certain games...for example evil within 2 runs 1080p at 60fps upscale to 4k not native 4k or the 1x is 4k and 30fps and unlocked oframrate it runs at 4k 40fps...blair witch...alien isolation..fallout 4.....sleeping dogs plus many more run at between 900p to 1080p with 60fps auto g
      Hdr...some games it does a better job like resident evil 8 1440p with 60fps or 1440p with ray tracing with frame rates 30to45fps where in the ps4pro and xbox 1x its 4k 30 with 1080p at 60fps...I do like 60fps but most games that are good u get an option of playing at 4k 30 ir 1080p at 60fps where as series s is 900p to 1080p with 60fps some will be 1440p will play at 30fps the very odd game will play at native 4k but only 30fps where the 1x and ps4pro actually ran games at 4k or 4k checkerbording with 60fps like gears 5 forza7...honestly the 1x is still my favourite the series s is defo not worth a jump to from the xbox 1x I would not if mind if it did 1440p with 60fps but no 900p to get 60fpz ur best sticking with the pro or 1x 1080p at 60fps instead of 900p at 60fps...the you is the downfall it imdoesnt support ray tracing in most games only watch dogs legion....and the 120fps mode option certain games it will work on but half them wont only series x so the 120fps is not worth it u have to play ur game at 720p to play 120fps if they only put a 6tfloops or even 7tfloops it would run perfect the gpu is way 2small I wouldn't buy this if u have a ps4pro or xbox 1x then defo wait till u can get the series x or ps5 the jump to series s is more downhill the ever taught off the 120fps and ray tracing with the seriess s is just a marketing liie it cant play 1080p games at 60fps so it went back to the original xbox1 resolution which was 900p ps4 is 1080p

    Just wanted to add around 10:06 to 10:12 while you're talking about how stable the series s it is also stuttering/failing to smoothly load the simple movement of the flowers blowing in the wind. You guys got a surface level comparison done that really will only mislead people ultimately. Your choice in games to showcase ray tracing for example and again not mentioning glaring issues on the series s, like the blurry relfections on the water for the series s in watchdogs while the one x has a much cleaner reflection of the buildings on the surface. But then you go to a set of windows on a skyscraper to point how superior the series s is when the x version was made to have the reflections baked in on that particular surface. I have nothing against the generations just hackneyed "reviews." Sorry guys some of this good but the overall abandonment to vital details ruins the whole thing. I say try again and use cyberpunk.

      @@mmq007.1 But that isn't really saying much. PC has always been and always will be better than consoles. While consoles can advertise okay specs, they tend to struggle on delivering them under actual load because of poor cooling throttling what is essentially integrated graphics and the CPU. According to benchmarks my RX590/2600 PC built 2 years ago plays games about as well as a PS5.
      I think this is another reason why the Series S will sell better than a lot of naysayers are saying. Because those of us with gaming PCs probably aren't looking to spend another $500+ on a console to play next gen titles that are going to be on PC, but we tend to look for more budgeted stuff to fill a niche left over after PC has dominated everything else. For me, OG Xbox, XBLA, and some games only on console are that niche that the series S fills beautifully in what is a simpler, and will likely be a much more reliable console than the PS5 or XSX.

    For the data transfer, you're using an SSD for the Series S and a HDD for the other consoles. SSDs are much faster transfers than HDDs, so that skewed your results. To really check, you should either use all HDDs or all SSDs for the external drives.

      Depends on the game. AC Valhalla will downsample from 4K to 1080p, so it'll still look better than 1080p, and yes it still plays at 60fps.
