@@ainerobertson78 I usually give my name as "Gina." Usually they get it right, sometimes I'll get "Geena" or "Tina" on my cup, but nothing ridiculous. (This did cause confusion one time when I was in line after someone actually named Tina, though. )

Well Paul... Think about how it feels to not be English but have a British accent, I'm Norwegian and befriended a girl from England before she knew Norwegian and thus spoke only English with her for a while and I picked up the accent after a week. Every time I go anywhere people ask "where in England are you from? How long did you live in England? Which one of your parents is the English one?" and I have no be like "ehhhh.... no?" and then I usually just say I'm good with accents and demonstrate my wide range of them- which leads to te question "then why did you pick a British accent? Is it to seem smarter?" and I didn't pick it. Its just where my voice naturally goes and has gone for years

I hear you on the "how do you spell that?"
My son's name is Henry. In this age of "euneek speleng", I understand why, but registering my newborn son at the doctor's office and I was asked "How do you spell that?". Before I had a chance to open my mouth, my smartass husband said "With three N's and a silent Q". I found it funny. The secretary, not so much.
And I'm Australian. Every trip I've ever had to the US, I've been asked if I'm English. Not offended because my family is from the UK (mother's family from England, father's family from Scotland) and I know that has affected my accent.
