34:24 The DS doesn’t destroy the father’s life sphere just out of “rage”. He does it because if he was to resurrect the Father, he would fix Urdak. Samur talked about this multiple times. The slayer, however, knows that if this was to happen then another Khan Maykr could come along, and also The Father simply would not allow the slayer to do what he does. The slayer is not a fan of urdak and the maykrs anymore because they can and were easily corrupted. The slayer isn’t once blinded by rage in any of the decisions he makes. He does what he does in order to punish Hell for thinking it could take away everything he had ever known and get away scot free
More so it was confirmed by Hugo sorta that he did it just so the Father wouldn’t get in his way from resurrecting Davoth so he can kill him cuz the Father can’t push himself to kill his creator and is fine to leave him sealed yet that does not stop Hell and save anyone.

Yeah. All original DOOM games until 2016 was just about a very skilled human. I still really love the new direction that the recent DOOM games gave gone (in terms of Doomguy being almost a god). Since in DOOM Eternal, there’s a flashback where Doomguy is found and brought to Argent D’Nur with his original armor and helmet. Im not sure if this is proof of Eternal & 2016 being linked to DOOM 1, 2, and 64 or if it is just a neat little reference. I heard a theory that DOOM 1, 2, 64 are all connected to DOOM 2016 and Eternal. That Doomguy is the same character but he traveled to a new timeline in between 64 and 2016 which is what this video also suggests.

Recently listened to a similar video about the 3 body problem series. Couldn’t believe they couldn’t take the few minutes to cut the intro and outros out! I love your full series.
I feel like the one thing eternal got wrong was how the slayer would have fought the icon of sin. A lore accurate interpretation would be him using just the crucible, his super shotty, and his strength to straight up dog on the icon. I feel like the slayer and the icon have so much beef that the slayer would drop all weapons and just leap onto the icon and just start thrashing him and throwing around. Could you imagine just a small 10 foot tall guy just casually knocking back and supposing a 400 ft tall super demon.

I've been binging all of your DOOM lore videos (and the Hollow Knight one). They are so well made! The way you write and read them as a complete story is very well done and really gets the viewer stuck into what you're telling us. Looking forward to hearing the unknow lore we're gonna get in 2025! If they make a sequel game where the slayer is awakened again, the villains should be The Mother of Demons The Resurrecter The Maledict The Corrupted Gods in the Life Spheres The Seraphim The Father The villains for the Dark Ages could be His Commanding Officer The Spider Mastermind The Dreadnought (Taras Nabad) The Night Sentinels who sided with the Maykrs ( The Marauders) We meet the Wretch The Titan ( Doom 2016) I wanna see how Mars fell to the Demons as well, who the hero in the Hieroglyphics of Doom 3, unlike the Slayer, this individual didn't survive & sacrificed himself/herself to stop the demonic invasion
I’m literally gonna run my head through a wall waiting on doom the dark ages. I’m so damn excited I can’t tell if it’s excitement or the tism sometimes I know this sounds crazy but I’m hoping the boss fights of the dark ages are like souls games, I mean very very difficult, it lasts, and you actually will have to learn more patterns. Eternal did great with this
Theory: What if the Praetor suit had belonged to Doom 3's Doomguy, John Kane who also eventually decided to lock himself within Hell sometime in his future from excessive invasion attempts by Hell to consume his dimension as well, and had met the Slayer in Hell, passing on his own suit (being a newer, and improved model of his armor in D3) To the Slayer with bits of his Argentian armor, and parts added to it by whoever the "wretch" was, to make the Praetor suit. As John was dying, and had died of old age or was killed by demons, he had passed on his suit, and weapons to the Slayer to continue his legacy.
I think I may have missed this, but why did the Night Sentinels come to help the Slayer at the end of Ancient Gods 2? I get that there were two sides in the civil war, but he was excommunicated after he killed the Hell Priest, so why do the sentinels help? We’re those just the ones who went against Hell and the Makyrs? Watched this video 3 different times and loved it. Appreciate the time and effort you put into it
45:22 the temple of souls isn’t a fragment of Urdak, it’s the last remaining remnant of Jakkad before it was corrupted. The painting of Jakkad when it was a paradise has those same strange stoney shapes on the temple of souls. The buildings in Urdak are attempted copies of these divine shapes. Maybe subconsciously made due to their closer connection to Davoth, or maybe made purposefully to appease Davoth and remind him of his paradise. Jakkad
I would like to add that the Doom Slayer is a Marine. Not a soldier. There is a difference. He is a rifleman who likes crayons, beer, killing, and getting things pregnant. They pissed him off and now he just kills. Goddamn I love the Corps.

By Judeo christian standards, if god made the universe, and satan betrayed him by using his free will, then the dark lord is god and the makers and Samuel Hayden is satan. And if god sent his son to earth and hell to save humanity from hell, then doom slayer is Jesus. He performs miracles time and time again.
It’s a lover letter to people who have the mental capacity to realize it’s the 21st century. If you really love doom than you should’ve absolutely fucking adored what Hugo martins done. He has a million respect and passion for the franchise
That's still just as easy to like lol. You can't really make a modern AAA game without shoving handfuls of lore into it. Plus, its used to guide the gameplay of 2016 onwards, and i really like the in-game plots, so I'm okay with it. My only problem is the massive plot holes. One doesn't just teleport to argent d'nur lmao
Samuel Hayden does sound like Optimus Prime it's the voice of his android body plus he solved an energy crisis the world had no answer for by harnessing unlimited energy from a red hell planet inhabited by demons .
Good job on video but when talking about argent d'nur or whatever it's called around discovering the demons it sounded like the cod ghosts extinction main menu theme.
I'm coming from playing the original Doom on a floppy disk running on MS-DOS, and I have to say, I'm disappointed where the lore went with the dark lord and the like; feels unnecessarily complicated.
So the father betrayed his creator and sealed him away, then proceeds to leeches of his creators power thinking he can be a better God. Meanwhile the true creator has to watch his lesser change the facts of history knowing he was the first God. But for some reason his creation which stole his power isn't the bad guy playing God meanwhile betraying the true God? 🤦♂️
