@@rasheedhawkins3372It’s more like his family. Doom guy is a catholic virgin as confirmed by the original devs. But same concept. The demons razed his hometown so more than likely all his friends and family got killed.
34:24 The DS doesn’t destroy the father’s life sphere just out of “rage”. He does it because if he was to resurrect the Father, he would fix Urdak. Samur talked about this multiple times. The slayer, however, knows that if this was to happen then another Khan Maykr could come along, and also The Father simply would not allow the slayer to do what he does. The slayer is not a fan of urdak and the maykrs anymore because they can and were easily corrupted. The slayer isn’t once blinded by rage in any of the decisions he makes. He does what he does in order to punish Hell for thinking it could take away everything he had ever known and get away scot free
More so it was confirmed by Hugo sorta that he did it just so the Father wouldn’t get in his way from resurrecting Davoth so he can kill him cuz the Father can’t push himself to kill his creator and is fine to leave him sealed yet that does not stop Hell and save anyone.

I've been binging all of your DOOM lore videos (and the Hollow Knight one). They are so well made! The way you write and read them as a complete story is very well done and really gets the viewer stuck into what you're telling us. Looking forward to hearing the unknow lore we're gonna get in 2025! When you are playing on the mission, Immora, you will notice something very strange when looking at the environment. Unlike in other parts of hell, the outskirts of Immora are covered in Crystals. Orange Crystals..The same type of crystals that can be seen inside the wraith ship on "The WorldSpear" Mission. We also know that Hugo Martin said "Life came forth FROM the worldspear to create life on Argenta". How did the wraiths create life without a Primeval? Did Davoth truly create Jekked, or was it something else? Davoth, The "Father", DoomSlayer, they are all the same type of being. The whole Doom story is a fractile Universe of repeating patterns, a repeating series of events... a ritual... Compare the creation of the Father by Davoth, and the fight between the two and how the Father Assended when Davoth fell. The same story just repeats itself with the DoomSlayer. We also know that The Father has a connection to the Worldspear and we know the Wraiths and the worldspear are completely separate from Hell and Urdak. Clearly there is a realm outside the known universe where creation originted and this realm is responsible for creating Primevals. The only question is..why? Why are these wraiths creating life on planets? Why is an unseen God creating Primeevals?
Yeah. All original DOOM games until 2016 was just about a very skilled human. I still really love the new direction that the recent DOOM games gave gone (in terms of Doomguy being almost a god). Since in DOOM Eternal, there’s a flashback where Doomguy is found and brought to Argent D’Nur with his original armor and helmet. Im not sure if this is proof of Eternal & 2016 being linked to DOOM 1, 2, and 64 or if it is just a neat little reference. I heard a theory that DOOM 1, 2, 64 are all connected to DOOM 2016 and Eternal. That Doomguy is the same character but he traveled to a new timeline in between 64 and 2016 which is what this video also suggests.
@@mskdxnightmare oh yeah. Im well aware of Dark Ages. I just didnt know if 64 was canon or not in the newer games. I just know Dark Ages shows the origins of the slayer
@@Frostaltered just letting ya know. Idk how I missed it but I just heard about it a couple days ago. I'm also just relaying info that I heard from others so don't take me for 100% fact. The general consensus I heard tho is yes every game is canon to the story line currently
I listened to this video while working and that was a great descision. Got through the entire thing in a single day and I think it helped me get the lore better ib my head

I wonder if The Doom Marine is actually John Wick 🤔 they both have very similar stories. Dead family, someone kills his pet, he goes on a rampage inside a dark world. 😂
I feel like the one thing eternal got wrong was how the slayer would have fought the icon of sin. A lore accurate interpretation would be him using just the crucible, his super shotty, and his strength to straight up dog on the icon. I feel like the slayer and the icon have so much beef that the slayer would drop all weapons and just leap onto the icon and just start thrashing him and throwing around. Could you imagine just a small 10 foot tall guy just casually knocking back and supposing a 400 ft tall super demon.
I remember playing the older games that my dad had when I was a kid. I showed him eternal and he was amazed at how DOOM looks now. I even let him play the ancient gods DLCs with the classic settings where the gun is centered on screen and he got good at the game pretty quickly on default difficulty. He beat the dark lord faster than i did when I fought that boss for the first time. 😂
45:22 the temple of souls isn’t a fragment of Urdak, it’s the last remaining remnant of Jakkad before it was corrupted. The painting of Jakkad when it was a paradise has those same strange stoney shapes on the temple of souls. The buildings in Urdak are attempted copies of these divine shapes. Maybe subconsciously made due to their closer connection to Davoth, or maybe made purposefully to appease Davoth and remind him of his paradise. Jakkad

Man I bet the stuff around 12:09 is going to be when doom the dark ages takes place! I’m super pumped, I’ve beaten most of eternal on nightmare in preparation.
Theory: What if the Praetor suit had belonged to Doom 3's Doomguy, John Kane who also eventually decided to lock himself within Hell sometime in his future from excessive invasion attempts by Hell to consume his dimension as well, and had met the Slayer in Hell, passing on his own suit (being a newer, and improved model of his armor in D3) To the Slayer with bits of his Argentian armor, and parts added to it by whoever the "wretch" was, to make the Praetor suit. As John was dying, and had died of old age or was killed by demons, he had passed on his suit, and weapons to the Slayer to continue his legacy.
I think I may have missed this, but why did the Night Sentinels come to help the Slayer at the end of Ancient Gods 2? I get that there were two sides in the civil war, but he was excommunicated after he killed the Hell Priest, so why do the sentinels help? We’re those just the ones who went against Hell and the Makyrs? Watched this video 3 different times and loved it. Appreciate the time and effort you put into it
If they make a sequel game where the slayer is awakened again, the villains should be The Mother of Demons The Resurrecter The Maledict The Corrupted Gods in the Life Spheres The Seraphim The Father The villains for the Dark Ages could be His Commanding Officer The Spider Mastermind The Dreadnought (Taras Nabad) The Night Sentinels who sided with the Maykrs ( The Marauders) We meet the Wretch The Titan ( Doom 2016) I wanna see how Mars fell to the Demons as well, who the hero in the Hieroglyphics of Doom 3, unlike the Slayer, this individual didn't survive & sacrificed himself/herself to stop the demonic invasion
I would like to add that the Doom Slayer is a Marine. Not a soldier. There is a difference. He is a rifleman who likes crayons, beer, killing, and getting things pregnant. They pissed him off and now he just kills. Goddamn I love the Corps.
I’m literally gonna run my head through a wall waiting on doom the dark ages. I’m so damn excited I can’t tell if it’s excitement or the tism sometimes I know this sounds crazy but I’m hoping the boss fights of the dark ages are like souls games, I mean very very difficult, it lasts, and you actually will have to learn more patterns. Eternal did great with this

I like the expanded Doom lore... Mostly. I still prefer the Doom Marine, just a guy, enduring everything the Gods send at him. It's very classic Greek hero. Giving him super powers kinda diminished that a little, though classical myth has a fair share of demigods too... Though we already saw that story not too long ago played out through the God of War series. I'm not sure how much more you could add to DOOM without either trivializing it all, or just getting silly. I guess we'll find out next year. Love your vids though.

It's funny how much fans love Doom having a lore nowadays after no one cared in the past. (Dont misunderstand me,I love it too)

One small correction- the slayer received the praetor suit in Hell after the Betrayl, from “the wretch,” who I believe is described as a demon

It’s a picture in Doom Eternal, that’s the Doom Slayer holding Daisy.

Unbelievable Bethesda actually made good lore for a game like DOOM, all I can say is: amazing video and lore.

Back in my day, the story of the Doom Slayer was: They killed my bunny, time for genocide.
Realistically, that’s still literally his only motivations. He has no ulterior motives than maddening revenge and retribution for his family and bunny

I like the expanded Doom lore... Mostly. I still prefer the Doom Marine, just a guy, enduring everything the Gods send at him. It's very classic Greek hero. Giving him super powers kinda diminished that a little, though classical myth has a fair share of demigods too...
Though we already saw that story not too long ago played out through the God of War series.
I'm not sure how much more you could add to DOOM without either trivializing it all, or just getting silly. I guess we'll find out next year.
