I've always loved the way that Neil's sonorous voice blended with Stephen's often jubilent synthwork. They had some great songs that just got stuck in your head. You have some great songs to come on this compilation album.
I could be wrong but I recall Neil Arthur saying in an interview at the time that the song was partly inspired by his seeing a plane doing skywriting near where lived.
Matt I've noticed that your videos are more blurry, I suppose it's just a matter of adjusting the focus on your camera. Great to see you react to the other tracks of Blancmange. Once you'll arrive at the track 'Game Above My Head' I hope you'll choose the extended version I provided you on the drive some time ago, it is way better than the short album version. Thanks for keeping that in mind.
I loved thiese guys...you're just getting started. (Would like to see you do a Kissing the Pink, Naked album reaction.similar-ish gtoup out at around the same time)
@@mattsnider2667 so glad to hear that (KTP). They weren't prolific, but Naked was a great album, deserves to be excavated saved and heard. feel like the old grumpus crashing the cool party, but I promise not to throw my list of "do this one next now" though I may slide in a group or related song in response. I appreciate what your doing and how your going about it, from the start, and not just the hits, like some, and letting us come along for the ride. Its reinvigorated a passion I had for the music from this era of my life. It's amazing how a song can retain a sensoral attached memory of a moment.

"I've seen the word" strikes me as a religious title, but he uses it non-specifically to sing about some of the sad things in life.

And thank you for the reminder, Stephan! Hard to keep everything in mind these days, but yes, I'll do that for sure.
ooo love that! Can't believe I've never heard that! Love that mid 80's sound. Thanks for this! 😁👍💅

Kissing the Pink has already been made available to me, I'm fairly sure. Just haven't gotten around to starting that journey yet. But hopefully soon!

Great synth work here. I imagine the level of Bing Crosby sweater must have been high.
Hahahaha, 10/10 for this callback.
@@mattsnider2667 If you saw the synth player in this band, you would think he is Vince. Looks pretty similar.
