Let's all appreciate what a humble bloke Chris is. There's folk on channels giving bit the big spuds while he, and Rob in many other ways, have forgotten more than they'll ever know. They always say it...Just 2 blokes filming what they do in real life. 👍

Maybe Britclips (hit clips) used for clipping cables to metal girders would work as temporary panel fixings before welding & be reused a few times more available in many different fixing thickness & easily available from electrical wholesalers !

Chris has a very quite nature, never bragging and always has time to simply explain the proceedure(s) that he is going to use for various repairs.. Chris works magic as usual and the van job benefits. Modern MIG welding allows but joins in nonstructural panels that would not have been possible some years ago. I remember the issue of cut and shut jobs, badly brazed together on the basis of where the weld landed all was good and where it did not, cover it with underseal or fiber-glass . Back then it often was rife, and the results were bad.

Another great one lads. I heard Jason Plato talking about a washing machine repair man visiting his place and him taking enthusiastically about this and that about repairing washing machines and how Jason was transfixed for 40m without a thing to say …all because the bloke loved what he did and was able to articulate it so well.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the way Chris cuts the panel, but the way I normally do it is to clamp in place as normal, then using the thinnest possible cutting disc, I slice through 'Both' panels. The gap left is just nice for welding, and works well if, like me, somebody is not quite as accurate as Chris is with the angle grinder. Many thanks for this great channel. Tony.

One thing about backing plates behind joins in addition to being a place for moisture to sit between layers of steel, you can create very strong areas, where you're not supposed to - a chassis leg for example, that could be the difference between the car folding up and the occupants walking away, or the car transmitting the impact and the occupants folding up and being badly hurt or dead. OK to have glued backing plates in the safety cage, as Chris says but not welded in general repairs all over the car. It's actually a hidden danger. That Chris is a bloody marvel!

Thanks for the video, really enjoy seeing it all come together, and more importantly the things that have to be corrected. 👍

    Another great video as always
Just fyi - I've read that pressing accelerator doesnt do a thing in cars with electronic throttle - it just cuts off. Some cars won't ever start with gas pedal pressed to the floor
