Did anyone ever fill up the entire map with parks and just make a nice peaceful village instead of aiming for a Metropolis? Or was that just me? I love small towns! I used to try and make some really unique and beautiful villages but was careful to never let it get too big! 🙂
Even I think SimCity Canada might be a new kind of alternative imagining struggling Northern Ontario townships, towns, and cities need such improvements as my examples. Who knows such a spinoff might happen I already came up with that option?

I remember when I got megalopolis . Took me forever and I stayed up night n day to get it . Fell asleep and woke up to a megalopolis and was so excited . Only did it once and that's before Internet . Lol nice vid
Anyone notice that at the 7:40 mark, in the City Evaluation screen, it says Category: Megaropolis. Guess the Japenese even sound weird when they type too!
8:20 -- Citizens, you are being warned that your entire district is going to be demolished. Pack your things and go. -- Demolished? What for? -- To build a giant statue of Mario. -- To build WHAT?
I got a megalopolis on this map once the "regular" way with R donut blocks in the center and rows of I and C at the edges, i really had to squeeze though, i think part of my strategy was bulldozing schools and hospitals so they'd be replaced by regular R buildings. There's also something weird with the way the game assigns citizens to housing, it often seems to help to wait a bit for things to fully grow before building new things.
I knew there had to be something like that going on, because the first part of the maps always get developped quickly and then I do the money cheat and throw everything in and it takes forever for them to develop.
@@shr00mhead achievements have absolutely zero to do with being "patted on the head" so that notion is just stupid. Achievements add to replayability and in many games force varying play styles.
Sometimes the music syncs up with the buildings being built. Also I can’t stop laughing when Dr Wright keeps jumping up and down and whilst this music is playing. Excellent video.
The same thing has happened to me a few times where I just can't break the 500K barrier. (499,840 and it stalled once) Finally, I set the time lapse to SLOW and it worked.
Hey man, so I ran across the 'debug' menu and cleared out the water entirely. Should I continue using this technique, or would you recommend something else (using debug and not freeland, so I get gifts)
you had the airport and seaport operating and ready to crash at any moment, you didn't build roads to get the amusement parks or casinos, and you left 11 hospitals and 4 schools and still got a fucking megapolis that quickly. you have my respect. BUT YOU BULLDOZED A DEVELOPED RESIDENTIAL TO PLACE THE MARIO STATUE WTF BULLDOZE ONE OF THE 11 HOSPITALS THAT LITERALLY DO NOTHING. i'm stressed 😫
yes, and the same by stoping at 259K and then make my city more good looking, and yet get 400K and have atleast 74-79% like me, and the only problim is land value but I never use the money cheat, and I only can keep 500-1500$ at hand and a loan that I hardly ever take
It's a cheat code that tricks the game into thinking you have negative money, which then sets the value at the maximum amount because of the way old game programming worked.
I think what was weird about it for me back then was that I wasn't expecting such a bizarre track for something like SimCity. The track has a very panicked feel to it which I would imagine works for the boss! I should definitely take some time to play Secret of Mana, though.

I built a city on the same starter map as this person, but I made the southeast part more of a residential village. I called that part Introtown.

Freedom map sucks theres no gifts. Uze the bulldoze water glitch instead.

Rails can be used as roads in the original of SimCity, regardless of version. Normal roads are cheaper, but produces pollution and traffic congestion.
