Mother Cabrini has been involved in my life since the day I was born. I was born in Colombus Hospital which she founded on 19th St. in NYC. We, My father ,a NYCpoliceman, my mother ahomemaker and I lived on 178th st. at the time in Washington Heights. By the time I was 3 I'd had pneumonia 4 times. It was the late 40's and everyone smoked. My mother was sent out of the apt. because the doctor didn't think I was going to survive the crises. My mother went to the shrine of Mother Cabrini to pray for me. When she kneeled down in the old chapel to pray she dropped her rosaries ,which were very tangled onto the pew in front of her and the untangled. She knew I was going to be alright and left to come home. When she got there my fever had broken and the crises had passed. My confirmation name is Frances for her.

My father was in an orphanage in NYC around 1910 and he gave me a scapula of Mother Cabrini when I was a very small child & told me NEVER to lose it! My father would have been 108 had he lived. He came to America with his Mother, two brothers and his Mother was pregnant but didn't know it on the ship. When they arrived in NYC, they found out that their father had died in a tragic accident in a bakery and his Mom couldn't take care of him and one of his brothers so she put him into an orphanage and I believe that Mother Cabrini worked and founded that orphanage. I'd love to know more about this subject if anyone has any facts about it! Bless You Mother Cabrini!

Mother Cabrini is patroness of immigrants and should be a model of how
we should welcome immigrants and help them. There was always a lot of
anti-Catholic prejudice and bigotry in America and she ministered to
those who came here to begin a new life. We Catholics should strive to
especially welcome and assist Catholic immigrants and refugees who come
here to make a better lives for themselves. No room for "trumpism" in
    Catholicism.
