    For the tree in the garden, you could use the tree with the lights that came with cottage living so the lights can hang down from the tree and that would look pretty cool.

    I actually think that James should hold off on doing the house until Hazel marries one of them and moves in! I like the idea of the brothers being so focused on the land and making the farm beautiful, they just neglect the house. And Hazel, being the superstar decorator she is, makes it the most beautiful countryside estate in Henford on Bagley

    Hear me out: the Vampires pack has these big, three tile wide arches. If you use one of those for the entrance to the farm, it'll look great with the low stone wall. It comes in a bunch of nice stone colors, too. A little less over-the-top than the floral arch.

    the selling shed looks amazing. I loved the idea of having a "public" space in the front with benches and picnic tables. maybe you could put the giant crops and the awards? when I was a kid I did a lot of excursions in farms with my school and there was always this place in the front with a shop and places to sit so we could wait in the start and end of the visit.

    You could use the wisteria from the cottage living pack over the chicken gate on the fence to hide it more. 💜 PS if you get a retail lot you should do a sunflower patch for sims to "take photos in" and have activities like the pumpkin carving for sims to do while they're there. I know they might not actually do those things but it's super common where I live for farmers to have a whole business model around fall activities like picking your own pumpkins and pumpkin carving etc and it would make the retail lot feel more complete.

    I think you should have a bench near the tombstones, so they can sit there and look at the ponds or the mini graveyard
    Also could you add one of those pond features in the garden pond? Perhaps the swans?
    Perhaps crates in that front shed? Like there is more stock right there instead of bulky fridges?
    You have traded a LOT of chickens, they haven't really 'died' so I don't think you need tombstones for them!
    Perhaps extend the greenhouse extention area and lock the door leading to the actual farm? Then the chickens can roam safely inside the greenhouse as well

    I made the Folly comment. A folly was an elaborate and decorative feature of an English estate. Sometimes it was a massive tower for example. It definitely had a sense of foolishness.
    My dad built a room just for a bath at his farm. They called it their folly.
    Here’s a definition. “a costly ornamental building with no practical purpose, especially a tower or mock-Gothic ruin built in a large garden or park”.

    • @ultrapokesim
      @ultrapokesim 3 года назад +1

      Yeah. Follies were a staple of English Picturesque during the 18th century. It was a juxtaposition to the Baroque gardens of the 17th. Henford is more of the picturesque but I think the Baroque garden James made looks very pretty. Picturesque gardens are actually somewhat related to Japanese gardens which fits since Chaz and Trenton come from Mt. Komorebi. Japanese gardens also had their use of follies, but also utilize wabi sabi (natural aging) miegakure (borrowed scenery that utilizes viewsheds of adjacent landscapes).

    Maybe you can make the 'side building' of the greenhouse like an actual entrance, with doors to the farm area, chickens and of course just outside. i think this would be super useful when playing + you also give direct acces to the chickens into the greenhouse. Even if their little gate doesn't work, they can also just go through there. + It would look a lot better and more connected by also being glass.if you look up big Victorian greenhouses they often have extensions like this as the entrance 😊

    When you do a house renovation can you sort out the 3 entrances thing? The boot room is supposed to be coming off the back door so you can get your dirty boots off and have a quick wash before going into the house proper, so you could move it to the back of the house, or keep the side door as the back door.
    Alternatively, if you want a back door as well as the side boot room you could do a small conservatory/garden room at the back of the house which would be nice when you landscape the garden. It would also be a good place to view your chicken prison from! :D
