After hearing about how some loved or hated it, I actually enjoyed it. I didn't expect anything like X, which is why too. Story's okay, but the combat and soundtrack is good, plus Tidus and Yuna reunite here!
That good ending was a gift to the fans, but I don't see it as the real ending. Nobody comes back from the dead. Yuna's acceptance of Tidus' death is the game's central theme.
Right? It just hits so hard! I usually obsess on games that are really good so when I finished FFX, I had nowhere to direct my frustrations to so when this game came out, I had to get it, I just had to do. Although the critics are saying the game mechanics was bad, I was in it for the story (and 100% completion rate). Nice job!
You probably wore the Bangle on one of you chars that increased the encounters signiicantly. I was at one point ready to turn of the game only to know it was because of an item i wore.
I got so mad whenever I tried to go for full 100% completion on this game when I had it on disc. I could never get this ending because for some reason the game ALWAYS froze and wouldn't let me complete the cacteur mission, I now have 10 and part 2 on steam so hopefully I can finally get it haha
I played FFX when I was 12. I didn't know FFX 2 existed and never got closure until recently diving back into the whole story line. This scene gave me an immeasurable amount of closure. FFX forever lives in our souls
FFX - perfect bittersweet ending, that stayed in our heads weeks after we finished the game. FFX-2 - perfect happy ending, that let our memories of this overwhelming series sleep in freedom. FFX-2.5/Audiodrama - wtf... let tidus disappear, take him back, let tidus die, take him back and let him loose the love of his life. Thats just diabolic and is definitely not an end. You gave us two perfect endings.. now you have to do is a third time!
@@ItsTerru yeah, I think the story on paper is pretty strong, it's great to follow Yuna on her journey of self-discovery after being free from Yevon and how Spira comes to terms with Sin being gone, but the execution wasn't perfect. I found some of the new characters to be pretty boring, like the leaders of the youth league and new yevon, so those parts fell flat. I mostly just cared about Yuna and the familiar faces from X, like Kimhari, Wakka, Lulu and some of the npc's we knew
For all who are wondering why so many people there..... After all... he is one of the key figures one of the Legendary Guardians who killed sin for eternity
FFx-2's true ending didn't go against X's ending at all, in fact it was foreshadowed at the end of the X credits, right before "the end" appears when it literally shows Tidus in this cutscene waking up and swimming up towards the surface. People in this comments section have it backwards, the canon ending of X-2 is the true ending, the pandering endings are actually the other two endings as they were made to go along with the misleading part of X's ending cutscene, before you see Tidus come back. Tidus had to disappear temporarily because the fayth needed rest after dreaming for centuries in an attempt to create a dream to finish Sin (the aeons, Jecht and Tidus). Time passes and they are woken up during the vegnagun incident as dark aeons possessed by Shuyin, later freed by Yuna when she beats them (mirroring the Yu Yevon fight, tbh) before Bahamut appears before Yuna and asks if she wishes to see Tidus again. She says yes and the aeons, awake again, bring him back.
yes, also, it's sort of foreshadowed by the temple fayth if you revisit them back in X, I don't think the good ending in X-2 diminishes much of the emotional turmoil at the end of X... because in that moment and for two years after, Yuna does in fact grieve and try to process her emotions as Spira finds a new light, so that passage of time is still there with Tidus gone. I think it also feels fitting that Bahamut would bring back Tidus, I mean the fayth are pretty grateful for all that Yuna has done to save the world two times over... they powered an entire dream city for a millenium, one boy shouldn't be too rigorous of a task, and we saw Tidus' orb float out of Gagazet at the end of X so he was intact somewhere... just dormant. He has some catching up to do though, it might be a bit disorienting for him to see all that changed when he was gone, so I think the next logical step is about Tidus figuring out his place in the world now that Spira is saved and Dream Zanarkand doesn't exist anymore. I think that's an interesting piece of character work to examine, and he has Yuna and his friends to help him with that. The Japanese version of Last Mission reflects that Yuna is just happy to be with Tidus in Besaid and she talks very sweetly about how carefree she feels with him back. I like to imagine he gets used to life in Spira, perhaps they would travel on the airship and visit different places :)
Lastime i found out that it seem SE want to make a 3rd ep or maybe directors cut of this FFX2 that Yuna is bored of Tidus and got another guy...if i remember correctly..theres an audio files in ffx remastered edition

@Yovano RAYGEKI I wish you luck. Here are some tips to help you with it: Check every area in each chapter it lets you before moving on. After the side missions, make sure it didn't unlock something before you continue. With the Sphere Break tournament, save before you go into Lucas and get ready to replay if needed. I'll probably be in the minority, but I felt like this game and particularly this ending really cheapened the ending for the original game. The original was a love story and a tragedy and it fucking nailed it.
Having a sad ending, normal ending, and good ending is kinda a have your cake and eat it too situation. Some of the comments on TV for the sad ending you'll notice find it to make sense.
The way I see it, FFX was a game about accepting your mortality. FFX-2 on the other hand, was about accepting the death of your beloved ones. FFX-2 is the story of Yuna's depression, while she is mourning Tidus who has symbolically passed on, until she achieves resilience. FFX-2 is actually a very sad game : even Yuna's theme confirms it. While the game is cheerful, dynamic, while all the characters shout and dance and seem to be happy at first, the game tells the story of how do people deal with their sorrow. Most the time in real life, if you pay enough attention, you will see that people who tend to express their joy or happiness, people who make the most noise, who act lighthearted, are trying to compensate for a heavy burden. I agree with you on the fact that, while there is a certain level of satisfaction involved in having a "dream" of reunion fulfilled, that good ending goes against everything the story stands for. At the end of FFX-2 (the last cgi scene on the ship where she says "This is my story, it will be a good one."), she finally made peace with herself, for not being able to protect everyone, and the loss of the man she loved. The logic would be to let him go now. Besides, Tidus was merely a dream, an illusion, from the start, which adds to the fact that she should let go. What that "good ending" there offers is basically bringing back the dead, which as we know it, is a definitive impossibility. Metaphorically, it could even be seen as a sadder ending, with Yuna failing her healing process, and choosing to live a dream for the rest of her life, because she can't accept the death of her soulmate.
Nothing in x-2 can pierce your heart in the same way the ending of X did - it's certainly one of the most emotional moments in a video game ever. At the same time though, X2 is a fun piece of fan service and at least helps repair the scars of the first game. But only once square - I don't want to see a game about aeris tales of the lifestream with an emotional cloud reunion at the end, some tragedies are too strong to break down
The little snippet of x-2.5 and x-3 is absolute edgy trash, may it never see the light of day. Yuna actually *gets bored of Tidus and gets with someone else*... Tidus also dies later to a somehow *revived Sin*! "Let's just do everything everyone will hate >:^D" so damn edgy. If x-3 happens I'd love it, but it better not be that trash.
wth are guys just afraid to upload themselves reacting to this game? After noticing the mostly women are doing playthroughs of this game I'm wondering if no guys play this or are just afraid to upload themselves crying to this game. Hey nothings gonna changes guys stop acting like you're wolverine or John Wick. We got emotions too.
I really dont like FFX-2, it totally undermines the first game's ending. Yeah this goes all happy ending but makes the story cheap. The OST is top notch however.
When Tidus says “you’ve changed,” anyone else get overbearing, controlling, hotline bling drake vibes? Ever since I left the city, you Started wearing less and going out more ...hanging with some girls I never seen before
Tidus literally blinked out of existence after diving off an airship and high-fiving his dad. Next thing he knows he materializes in the shores of Besaid, with no knowledge of what's happened after he himself knows he ceased to exist. "You've changed" is not inherently a bad thing to say. Media just programs people to see specific phrases, words, and sentences as a bad thing because they use it in a bad context. For example "looks like you gained a few pounds" could be offensive to a fat person, but a great compliment for people trying to gain weight.
@@thespianmask yeah, exactly, I would be surprised if Tidus wasn't a bit disoriented, especially when there's all this sensory overload like the airship landing and the crowd on the beach and Yuna suddenly showing up. I think he does sorta feel a passage of time though, because of that whole Mobius Final Fantasy story which shows Tidus between X and X-2, it has some of the writers behind the original X story handling it and it transitions right to Tidus waking up in the water so I feel it suits the story
They totally changed it. This was also just a game invented for people who didn't like the original ending which was way more artist that the bullshit fairytale endings that people clamour over.

If you wanna cry some more try FFVI Crisis Core that is IF you have a PSP
What's funny is that in the story of ffx3 he dies again.
Final Fantasy X-3 🤔 ?

100% completion ending isn't a secret ending.
And then they released that god awful audio BS.
Probably gonna get a lot of hate but, imo they should have left at just FFX no sequel... FFX-2 to me is just a cash grab.
I really enjoyed the gameplay of the second game, but the story was a disaster
This ending is..."pretty"
I still prefer the tragic end to FFX...
Stop giving direct sequels, dammit... xD
Hahahaha i feel the same. I am interested if they will announce a ffx-3 tho. And if they do, please throw away the audio play
wth are guys just afraid to upload themselves reacting to this game? After noticing the mostly women are doing playthroughs of this game I'm wondering if no guys play this or are just afraid to upload themselves crying to this game. Hey nothings gonna changes guys stop acting like you're wolverine or John Wick. We got emotions too.
I really dont like FFX-2, it totally undermines the first game's ending. Yeah this goes all happy ending but makes the story cheap. The OST is top notch however.
Wait a fucking minute.... people actually played that game all the way through? Figured everyone else turned that shit off 20 minutes in, like I did.
When Tidus says “you’ve changed,” anyone else get overbearing, controlling, hotline bling drake vibes?
Ever since I left the city, you
Started wearing less and going out more
...hanging with some girls I never seen before
Tidus literally blinked out of existence after diving off an airship and high-fiving his dad.
I think he does sorta feel a passage of time though, because of that whole Mobius Final Fantasy story which shows Tidus between X and X-2, it has some of the writers behind the original X story handling it and it transitions right to Tidus waking up in the water so I feel it suits the story
for me she is not yuna.. not the same face, some the same personality. They fuked up
They totally changed it. This was also just a game invented for people who didn't like the original ending which was way more artist that the bullshit fairytale endings that people clamour over.
not canon tho
Ffx 2 worst game ever !
