@KainsAddiction this looks so much better than the original lol. And the lighting in itself is so much better. You must not have even seen the beginning of the video where the game looked horrible. Either that or you forgot to go beyond 240p on RUclips 🤣. Not to mention, this is proof of concept how easy it is to remaster a game and add upscaling. But devs lie and make it sound so difficult so they demand millions to do what 1 man did

Well, doing this to a Level where all the game's Scripts, A.I., Combat Systems, etc. are fully intact does take TONS of time, & it does take a fair amount of $$ & "manpower" to expedite the process, BUT, yeah they do overblo the actual effort & $$ involved to justify needless Corporate excess
better than the original from 22 years ago? Yeah, no shit. But for 2024? Nah. If it looked like this a remake wouldn't even be worth the time

I love this. Being able to see things at a different angle is so cool especially the first area where you fight Kimahri. I would love to see Remiem Temple or Baaj Temple, Kilika would also probably look incredible.

So many people are redoing old games you would think the developers would see them and take the hint. This is amazing hope you eventualy make the whole game playable I would definitly pay to play that.....long as it isnt to expensive cost of living and all lol.
FFX is my all time favourite game, I still have my ps2 disk and memory card with 11 months of in game time on it...this makes me soo happy... we all need a ue5 remake ... if you take off and can pay for help, I'll work on this with you no problem! 😊 amazing video fella!!!!

I played as a kid and just recently played 16 for the first time. I haven’t been a big gamer since the PS2 days and the modern graphics in 16 really impressed me. The 7 remakes are next on my list, but thinking about those makes me hope and pray we will get something like that for 10

My first and favorite final fantasy. I always wished they would give this game the same treatment graphically that they did with final fantasy 7. Although sadly it felt like this game was overshadowed by the rest of the series. Glad to see what a remaster could look like!

One small point, it looks like the scale of the character model is a little big compared to the external landscapes. For example the summoning circle in the village or the fence on the overlook that only comes up to his knees. 😅

I love this, however there are a few things that need some more work. The floor in the temple is too reflective, this might be due to it being a flat surface. You can modify the normals so that it looks 3D without altering the mesh or you could use the texture itself to create the 3D mesh (blender can do this so I think UE also would). The other is Tidus movement. The problem is likely that in the original game he floated in air a lot, while here is tied to the ground

I would say... and it isn't criticism by any means... but I'd live to see Tidus' original run. Like he kind of floats while running. Yours is realistic but his run in OG was kind of wider and floatier (my first time using that word lol) I don't know if that makes sense. It's less realistic than yours though
3:12 I understand how you feel. It seems that Square did not take into account that 'Tidus' is not read as 'Tida' in English-speaking countries.

even though the FFX remake has been all but confirmed. its gonna be sad when it happens, cause we all know it aint going to have that 1 to 1 comparison with upscaled graphics, locations and designs are def going to be different, but at least we have this to see the "what if"

pretty cool.. If you rework some of the textures, especially in Tidus to be more clothlike than plastic it'd look even better. Also it seems a bit laggy, I'm sure the models from ps2 weren't very optimized by today's standards.. did you try converting them to nanite? nanite foliage? The lighting in ue5 makes this look a lot more realistic though
...Wow... throw in some short cuts (because as we get older we have more money and less time) and I would absolutely buy this for 100 bucks. I love FFX . Awesome job man

ffx is one of my fav games it looks amazing if i had any suggestions i love the old tidus run animation lol also maybe more particle effects in macalania the place is brimming with magic. also the model looks a little big. cant wait to see blitzball!!!
