that smile at 1:19 is amazing. Novak is engaged, he brings hope and a smile to Rublev, a player who would be descriminated in the futur because of a war he has nothing to do with. Novak is a child of war, he knows what it is, and thank God we have him to take position and represent certain values.

How about the missing physical gap between the 35 years old Rafa and their only real challenger for now at that level 26 years old Medvedev at AO finals. 5 and a half hours too, top level tennis ... I am Rafa fan in that incredible rivalry and have seen him struggling in similar fashion multiple times coming back from his many injuries. I am not saying that Nole will soon( or ever😕) regain his fitness but if someone can do it it's him for sure. What I am saying is that the age difference between Novak and Rublev was not the main nor the only reason for Djokovic clear physical fatigue in the third set.

I’ll get a lot of hate for this but novak did what he has been doing for a while. He gave up (in the third set) when he knew he couldnt come back. I ve also seen him tank sets by serve and volleying every point. When he thinks he can win, he tries but when he knows he can’t he mentally gives up. Anyone who is a real tennis fan knows this.

Not sure I agree, but if true, then that is another characteristic that will set him apart from Nadal, and diminish his standing with a lot of real tennis fans: Nadal doesn't give up...ever. He leaves it all on the court, and his determination unreal. A professional athlete who gives up simply because he's not winning is straying into Karen-level entitlement territory.

At his age he plays minor tournaments as he is training for Grand Slams.
I think with Federer practically retired and Nadal career ended by Covid 19 vsccine's adverse reactions Nole will try to surpass Nadal 21 victories then he will retire too

Excuses excuses. If he's not fit, what's he been doing with all this spare time? It's not like he's been sidelined with an injury, which is what kept Nadal out before he came back and won the Australian. At last you managed to stop and remember that there was someone across the net, who beat him. Badly in the 3rd.
