- This is a review of the Chinese copy Terminator T800 Endoskull.
It was bought on ebay for £200 but stopped by customs making it £225.
I have compared it to the sideshow model and the manufacturers have clearly used an original sideshow model as influence.
Overall, for the money, this is an amasing display piece. I give this model a 7/10 with only a few flaws:
1 - Run in the paint
2 - No chip removal
3 - Eyes do not fade out when switched off
4 - Delicate jaw pistons
5 - Teeth look plastic and of poor quality

so found these replicas on ebay bout a year ago, been playing with the idea, comparing to the original, and today...

I keep hearing ppl say put a capacitor in it. Don’t do it yourself, just get an electrician to put one in. He’ll do it in no time, right size, everything. There’s plenty wire in there to play with. I’d defo do it!

Chinese copies, like this, show how cheap stuff should really be compared to official products which charge a lot because of the products license.
That's a good copy. I'd definitely re-paint the teeth, though. None of the Sideshow 1:1 models (skulls, arms and full endos) are 100% accurate. To be honest, this skull is probably more accurate than any other 1:1 I've seen. The fact that Sideshow have been so sloppy, yet still charging a fortune, I'd have no qualms with buying a knock-off of one of their endos, instead of an original.
Retail price in them aren't bad, but they are sold out, and scalpers on ebay want something that can buy a car for it.
About the eyes, have you tried adding a capacitor to the circuit so they can fade out?
What type of capacitor is this please?

Those models you’re looking at are not life size.
In the event that you can’t find any collectors editions for sale at a reasonable price, these heads are perfectly okay in my book. At least you get a full size head & neck. Looks great too. 👍👍
Completely agree. If someone could be bothered to replace the teeth i think it would be an awesome replica.
@@B3NN10N yeah really nice. I wouldn’t like to have to make one for that price. It’s excellent. I honestly believe the only difference is maybe fading eyes and a little bit better quality in the sideshow ones etc. I’ll be getting a Chinese one. I see the Japanese seem to be making them now too, I saw on eBay today. Just put in terminator T800 Endoskull.
Ah wicked. I bought this along time ago to be fair... it’s now used to store my bike helmet on mostly.

That link is the one I decided on buying, looks pretty sweet. It has the T2 raised emblem which I was hoping it wouldn't have as that ruins my idea for a Cyberdyne Systems sticker. Qualitywise it looks great though, the only thing that baffles me is why the on/off switch is located on the bottom of the base in an inaccessible place. Should arrive in a few weeks, after that I'll let you know what I think of it. Although the seller says the photos are of the exact item and that they are not manipulated in any way, I do have my doubts that the eyes are really that red without the lights being on, the seller reassures me that they are, we will see.

It came yesterday, amazing delivery time considering I bought it on the 12th of this month. I paid a £31 customs charge (that annoyed me a little). It's pretty much identical to yours apart from a few small differences like the switch location and a present but poorly made T2 logo. Build quality is great though I do have one flaw which I would consider major. The LED lights for the eyes seem to be offset, it makes my T-800 look like it has 2 wandering eyes, also it doesn't have the cross pattern in the pupils, instead I have a lot of tool scratchings through what appears to be the glue holding the pupils in place, seems like the assembler was too unskilled to do it properly. I'm reasonably happy with it though, I couldn't expect it to be bang on perfect for the money I paid and considering that it has been made in China the overall quality is pretty good. I'm trying to get a partial refund from the guy because of the eyes, we'll see what his response will be.
I have one coming. Can't wait for it to get here.
Why would you be concerned if the eyes didn't have the cross-pattern? Having them is one of the mistakes in the Sideshow version. The screen-used endos had lenses, with red lights set back in the eyeballs. That's the way I'm building my endo skull kit. I want it to be as close to screen-accurate as possible.
Disappointingly, every officially licensed endo skull, arm or full skeleton, that I've seen, has glaring errors, making me wonder who gave them certification. It certainly can't be Stan Winston Studios (who made the ones for all the movies).
what advice would you give someone who already owns the original Sideshow version but wants another bust to accompany it (without spending the same Sideshow price lol)....thanks
+LORDASHFORD56 i don't have either but you could buy a cheap one and damage it/paint it artistically to be a worn-in battle damaged model.
I've been waiting so long to order it, I think I might do it this month once I sell my drone.

Hey, so just a quick question. I know the hose part is metal, and the pistons are plastic etc. But what about the actual head? Is the head made of plastic or is it fully metal?

Hey mate, I've been thinking of buying one, seen them on ebay but I've been looking for someone who has bought one so that I can ask a few questions about the overall quality of the item. are the pistons on the jaw removable? same for the pipes connecting to the base, can they be removed? I only ask because if I were to buy one I'd probably want to dismantle it so that I could take out the teeth and put better ones in.
Hi - the pistons are clearly glued. You may be able to snap them off and re-glue? But it would be a tricky operation in my opinion. The teeth look very firmly glued also!

Tricky indeed, worth the risk though, I think I'll take a chance. Which ebay seller did you use? The ones I tend to find seem to be a little disreputable :)

I've seen some work a guy did on one of the vinyl kits, he removed the teeth and bought a set of dentures on ebay, looked great afterwards.
Daniel Hughes Yeh - I am sure it could be done! Overall this is a much better option than the vinyl kits in my opinion.
The vinyls look tacky and very innacurate, there's one bloke on ebay who bought one and plans to make some 50 casts, paint and finish them and then sell them on for near enough £100! The cheek of it! The vinyl kits cost some £15! Pretty sure these Chinese sideshow replicas come from the same mould as the sideshow originals, yours looks epic (bar the teeth), a very nice looking and respectably priced bust. Trying to search for a reputable vendor on ebay now, worryingly they all seem to use the same stock photos.

thanks. my switch didn't work which was the same as yours so I opened the bottom and added one with 4 aa bats instead with a better option for a switch. thank man
