Hey I'm also from Portugal I have an Audi A1 with the same 1.0 tsi engine, where did you make the upgrade and how much did they charge you? Also is that the only mod you've done to it? This build is a great example of how important friendship is in the car community. Even when things don’t go to plan and you blow your ECU, and it’s sitting on jacks and you’re wondering why you even started in the first place, having close mates by your side that are willing to wrench on something they might not particularly like, or a car that feels cursed with every possible inconvenience, those friends are worth every cent you poured into the car. There is nothing like a Davo or turbo yoda or issac in your life. Those are the guys you’ve gotta look out for, because their presence in your lives will be truely missed if one day they’re not there. I love how the boys support reach out, it’s really awesome to see positive role models in the car community that aren’t just buying lambos and driving them in a paddock. The fact that this car exists is what makes the car community great. All the people from literally around the world that made this thing happen is awesome.

here in brasil we have a lot of them 1.0 tsi modded some with forged internals bigger turbo going about 2.8bar of pressure (40psi of boost). Video name "up tsi brasil 350cv stg4"
@@GamingWithPim 2.8 bar is sex spec, take it out on weekends for showing off. It's only dailyable according to people who build cars on forum threads/in their heads and applied to mechanical engineering (but hasn't gotten in, much less work a full job about actually tuning/building engines).
I have to say, I bought a Seat mii sport as a little city car run about and I find myself driving it over my Alfa now. Crazy how good these little cars are
Look to Brazil. UP Tsi is icon here (we never got the GTI, but the engine was the same). It has been modified to oblivion. On stock internals, all you need is a plug and play hybrid turbo to get around 115-120kw at the wheels.
Guys 124whp is pretty low for you setup, if i recall you got a hybrid turbo? In brazil we get 160whp on that setup, and something else that the tuner here realised quite fast is that the tq limit is 25kg otherwise the rod go kabum. Hope to see an update on this because i owned a up with the full 160whp and 24.5kg and oh boy, on a car that weighs 890kg is insane. Sick car btw love your stuff
thought the same, in Europe those 1.0 TSI push 100+ kw in stock form in some cars or even more. The basic cheapest cars with this engine roll out of factory with 81kw.
Man I love the soundtrack at MCM! 1985 VW Golf was my first car. I have owned 4 of them(mk2, 2 mk3, 1 mk4(R32)). Not really into them these days, I think they lost their soul after the Mk4 but I love this little nugget. Always had a soft spot for polos and lupos so this thing is right up my alley! Especially in white!
moog, I'd like some advice. I tried to jack up a goat, but one look at the jack and the goat started to eat it. I could not get the goat to stop eating jacks! it's eaten 10!
I recently watched an old episode of SmithandSniff. They drive an UP GTI and they absolutely loved it. By the way Moog, Richard Porter had some really nice things to say about you and this channel in one of their recent PodCasts.
The content this year has been next level guys, the regularity of the posts, the quality of the videos and editing, all of it has just been so damn good!
Just goes to show all small engines like this should be turbo, just for efficiency. Why flog a 30kw engine to barely get up to highway speeds when just adding a small turbo could give it triple the power and make that an easy task.
Small cars are quite fun. I had the chance to drive a Ford Ka in the mid 2000s, and had so much fun driving my buddies around. I also own an old Ford Tempo (enlarged Ford Laser/Mazda 3 from late 80s or early 90s), and besides being a shtbox, I had a lot of fun on it too. Way too easy to make it slide on wet curvy roads. Still missing those glorious days...
UP GTI owner here from Scotland. I've came from various Honda Type R s to one of these little nuggets and they are good fun. I'm inspired by this video to get the same parts for mines 😅
I own a 2019 up GTI “stock” watching this really made me wanna get a tune.. been thinking about it for the past year! Your enthusiasm is unmatched! Thanks for the vid really made me love my up even more 🎉🎉 my first ever comment haha been subbed for years! Love from UK 💙
Awesome project! In brazil there is a lot of people pushing these little engines to 250-300whp and even putting 1.4 tsi 4 cylinders inside the tiny VW ups
So nice to finally see it complete! However I feel like the tune was very conservative, a lot of people are able to get around 105 kw with just the intake and 98 ron fuel
Sounds like a decent power-to-weight ratio! I had a Fiat Bravo mk1 that the previous owner(a colleague of mine) had turned into a bit of a sleeper. It had "only" 160hp but weighed just around a ton, so it definitely liked to move. Punished some bimmers and golfs :D
I've a grandad spec gold coloured Skoda Fabia estate. It's 1006kg, stock is 82kw, but a wee tune has that up to maybe 90kw. Daaaayum it's a giggle to take off so quick and great around our Highland Scottish roads...
There should be a t-shirt that goes "Little Car, Big Heart" with the up, or some kind of a oversized turbo next to it. Little cars for the win, I had a 2001 SLK230 Kompressor, 6-speed manual (kinda rare in the states) no one wants these things but they are great. Little 4 banger supercharged motor under the hood, with a Hardtop (its a roadster), and I heard even the auto trans with the slapstick (post 2001 model years) can take a decent amount of power. I sold mine as I got it to learn a bit on it, so I sold it off. I do miss it tho. It was fun. You were literally sitting right in front of the rear wheels. And it is a RWD car. People also get rid of the supercharger and slap a turbo on there instead.
125 HP in a car with that weight? Holy smokes! What a build! I totally wouldn't spend the time money and effort to do the same but still an awesome little rocket! Well done guys!
This thing is everything I dreamed of and more. You did a great job. It was definitely a “money is no object” build but if my pockets were deep enough I would’ve done it too.
Man, this build is just next level! 🎉 It's crazy to see how much change you can make for the UP GTI. And that $50k? Insane! 💸 But honestly, it’s all about the memories and friendships made along the way. Can't wait to see what's next for you guys! 🙌
So glad you got there in the end. Like all great engineering projects it overran on time and blew the budget. It now has the power it should have had from the factory. Do you plan to do any more to it? They benefit from suspension upgrades and better flowing exhausts. Have fun!

Might be worth passing on to whoever set the page up because it's very easy to miss if you don't scroll down to it.
why would you type out a customer feedback question in the yt comment section? don't you think getting a reply would be more likely through their official site support?
Brilliant content as usual with a cool car, YOU GUYS ARE GOING UP⤴️
here in brasil we have a lot of them 1.0 tsi modded some with forged internals bigger turbo going about 2.8bar of pressure (40psi of boost). Video name "up tsi brasil 350cv stg4"
I want to do this with my Up!, but I don't speak Portuguese! Do they daily drive their 300+ hp Ups?
@@GamingWithPimyeah, they do! There is a huge community around the vags 1.0 tsi 170/200
@@GamingWithPim yes, the difference is that here in Brazil we have e100 directly at the pump
@@GamingWithPimdo its more easy to make power
Seeing this complete makes me super happy. UP!s are the happiest little cars to drive, good on ya Moog! Chooochoooo!
Btw if you dont have a hybrid turbo, you can also use the one from the audi q3 1.4tsi but will be more laggy
thought the same, in Europe those 1.0 TSI push 100+ kw in stock form in some cars or even more. The basic cheapest cars with this engine roll out of factory with 81kw.
Don't you have super high octane fuel in Brazil though?
@@ferrumignisthey do, and the South American 1.0 tsi engines have different engine code and valves so they take more pressure
@@ferrumignisAround here we have premium gasoline (ron 102) and ethanol (ron 110) is more commonly used here.
This deserves the Thumbs Up! 👍
Some awesome music again in this episode. What makes MCM my favourite channel.
moog, I'd like some advice. I tried to jack up a goat, but one look at the jack and the goat started to eat it. I could not get the goat to stop eating jacks! it's eaten 10!
Epic, congrats on the build completion!
That turbo makes the same sigh as my wife in the passenger seat
The turbo will be cheaper in the long run
"If you're not getting turbo noises then why do you have a turbo car?"
absolute facts
"That's so small" - That's what she said haha
Love it. My swift is 750kg and made 125kw was a absolute weapon on the track
Sounds like its got a cold 😂 atchoo
Literally opened up my RUclips app saw this got so excited clicked on it instantly. I cannot wait to see the final product❤❤
The first step is to 'Jack up a goat'. Ok, done... now what?
UP GTI owner here from Scotland. I've came from various Honda Type R s to one of these little nuggets and they are good fun. I'm inspired by this video to get the same parts for mines 😅
4:08 click me
I own a 2019 up GTI “stock” watching this really made me wanna get a tune.. been thinking about it for the past year! Your enthusiasm is unmatched! Thanks for the vid really made me love my up even more 🎉🎉 my first ever comment haha been subbed for years! Love from UK 💙
Congratulations. After all your time, effort and money you are making the same power and have the same weight as a stock 1990 1.6l Civic.
Awesome to finally see this thing come together.
Not only the only Up! GTi in Australia, but the only Australian-German-British Up! GTi in Australia.
Man i always love the music you make! The lady's that sing them are effing great! Not my usual style but I absolutely love it!
135-140hp in a car so light must be so nice to drive around 🤩
Never a waste of money when you have something unique, and more importantly.. yours.. There has never been a price tag on joy. Congrats
No matter what car comes on this channel as soon as it pops up im watching. I love you guys and love watching the vids and learning
Great video, i had a Suzuki 1Ltr / 3cylinder Swift years ago and i still miss it to this day. A lot of fun with an eager little engine.
2:32 the GOAT this is the perfect song for the up gti
What an awesome little car to have done fun in.
Shout-out to Harding Performance ❤
I use R clip pliers on the factory spring clips; they don’t slip off the way they do with standard pliers.
I've a grandad spec gold coloured Skoda Fabia estate. It's 1006kg, stock is 82kw, but a wee tune has that up to maybe 90kw.
Daaaayum it's a giggle to take off so quick and great around our Highland Scottish roads...
Hello from Charlotte NC, Love the channel and appreciate all you guys do 🤙🏼
There should be a t-shirt that goes "Little Car, Big Heart" with the up, or some kind of a oversized turbo next to it.
Just needs the gti bumpers to finish it off
125 HP in a car with that weight? Holy smokes! What a build! I totally wouldn't spend the time money and effort to do the same but still an awesome little rocket! Well done guys!
UP vs Gemini coming soon. I can't wait. Woot Woot. 👍👍
I love your channel! I have fun and day dream when I watch your videos!!
Tank you!❤
This thing is everything I dreamed of and more. You did a great job. It was definitely a “money is no object” build but if my pockets were deep enough I would’ve done it too.
My God! That's f king NUTS man. Triple the factory engine power 🏆 ! I hope it handles the jandal for a long time despite the mad new stress level 👍
125hp to the wheels is actually pretty amazing. Well done boys!
The up-chune! is the real asneezement
I've got to say, MCM has always been, and is the still the best show on the Interballs.. 👏🐐
I learned a lot more than I ever thought I would on this VW throughout the series. I’m glad it al worked out
The red one looks so much better. Well done for sticking at it boys.
moog your music skills are amazing!!!!!! THE DOSE DROP OMG 😍😍😍😍😍
Man, this build is just next level! 🎉 It's crazy to see how much change you can make for the UP GTI. And that $50k? Insane! 💸 But honestly, it’s all about the memories and friendships made along the way. Can't wait to see what's next for you guys! 🙌
Hearing that drive down the street, you would never expect a VW Up when turning around 😅
It just needs the Up! Gti front bumper... Great Little cars!
I hope the Up! contender is just as fun sized. Can't wait.
Up and coming for the Gemini
15:13 Love the red Up! give-away!
Shipping “anywhere in the world” may have been a small slip of the tongue..? 😛
So glad you got there in the end. Like all great engineering projects it overran on time and blew the budget. It now has the power it should have had from the factory. Do you plan to do any more to it? They benefit from suspension upgrades and better flowing exhausts. Have fun!
